Since I more or less abandonned my 1/4 doll and almost finished the tiny one, I'm starting a new thread to share my new project, a mature 1/6 doll. Actually I started her a few months ago, but I tend to stop sculpting for some periods Here are some pictures: http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p673/memeaijou/Murasaki/SAM_1376_zps23c5ce05.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p673/memeaijou/Murasaki/20141104_010709_zps0ada805e.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p673/memeaijou/Murasaki/20141104_010726bis_zps06ad03cc.jpg I'm currently working on the knee and doing the second elbow See you next time :arrr
Man this is awesome; definitely a good start her hips have a great flow! How tall is she? (also if you want to show your pictures straight into the thread just use the code with the direct picture link between them, photobucket even has the thing ready for you to paste, just a heads up!)
Thank you She's a bit over 25cm (and I know for the code, it just seems that most people here just give links :p)
I like her clean simple shape. I agree that her hips are beautiful. Do you plan to cast and sell her?
She's got a really pretty body line, I'm looking forward to seeing her complete! I'm big into that size and proportion. So nicely pocket sized. ♥
Thank you both Cleave, I will cast but not sell her, I made her as a present ^^ And here she is, she's got two knees now. I fear the moment I'll have to make the second hand :dead http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p673/memeaijou/Murasaki/20141231_123459_zpsd3b1c2d5.jpg (Trying to hide on the table, obviously)
When sculpting small scaled dolls like this, I heard the joints will be very fragile. How do you overcome this?
Her joints seem to be fitting together nicely, bravo! I bet when she's done, she'll make a great present.
Thank you Polkavata ^^ Bluemoon, I'm not too sure myself, I had problems of joints breaking on my 1/4 doll too but even though I string her tightly nothing broke except the ankle (and that's because of the ankle-bar). I suppose it's because I made the legs as a whole and cut them after. I emptied both sides to put the peanut-part and added clay to form the joints inside. The walls of the knees espacially are quite thick compared to her size.
Here are some news ^^ I motivated myself to finish her soon, so I began working on détails, like little holes in the surface. I also decided she needed new and better eyes (and a bit bigger) http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p673/memeaijou/Murasaki/20150121_213918_zpste3ngjak.jpg See you :arrr
Thank you both doorknob, she's not that small, I just started a ~15cm doll xD I don't have any new picture of Murasaki, I'm still preparing her for the molding phase, I hope to begin soon (and at the same time, it's a bit frightening >_<)
