    6. Thanks so much guys!! I just got my first ever BJD in the mail today so now i have something to look at for reference. Maybe this chika will get a body after all :) But i doubt it lol.

    7. So from now on, this thread is going to be all the reandom head sculpts that i make. I really enjoy making the heads and i have yet to complete one body so i figured i would just make a thread for the heads lol.

Heres the latest one im working on

So she's not done yet but im happy so far with how she's turned out. I still have alot of fixing up to do though.

      Thanks for looking :)

    8. Face up time :)

So i've modded this head a little bit with some antlers/ pincers/ branches on the head... I dont really know what they are actually lol.

Here's how she looks thus far although i still have alot of work to do on her.

If you want to see more pictures, you can check out my blog. Thanks for looking!!

    9. omg she's so cute :D how did you get her face so smooth. lol i never could get the hang of sculpting with air dry clay :) it really does hate me. I also took a look at your blog :)) Awesome stuff.

    10. Thanks!!

I got her smooth by sanding.. A lot. lol. Especially since i didnt use any primer i had to spend a lot of time making sure everything was smooth before i started painting.

    11. That's a nice mold. :) But her horns (cuz they are horns, right?) are most beautiful thing there. XD
I've checked your blog, but you don't have close ups of horns. D: It's very interesting, so I would love to see it!

She looks like water nymph, maybe you should think about making body at least. :)

    12. wow how fabulous. I love her horns!

    13. Lovely lovely face!!!

    14. Thanks everyone!!

Ummm i wouldnt call them horns per-say... they really arent anything specific because she'skind of a unique creature. I was thinking something along the lines of water deer... you know? She has a story which i'll tell yall when she's finished!!

And @ anastasios. I will try to do some close up shots tonight and post them on my blog :)

    15. I love love LOVE the head in your first post~ So unique, and she's got a kind of eerie beauty. :)
Also, are those little teeth I spy?

    16. What a lovely face. She has so much personality and her horns are brilliant!!

    17. @hyula thank you!! I like odd looking creatures because nobody is as perfect as most of the BJD's you see in real life and i like to show that in BJD form... and yes :) those are some little chompers that you see, a little experiment of mine :D

      @susan, thanks so much!!

    18. wow! she's gorgeous! I really love her!!!!!

    19. Waooooow! @o@
I am just in awe of your sculpting skill, absolutely in love with your style! :love
Do you have plans to cast any of your work in resin? 9o9

    20. Thank you guys!!

@ eldurwen i would love to some day see some of my stuff in resin, only problem is i dont do bodies so i wouldnt have a reason to lol. Im hoping though that one day i can actually do a body sculpt!! Then i will for sure try to cast my little creatures in resin :)

    21. Really love your water deer. She's so beautiful. ^^ You're a very talented sculptor and I didn't see anything wrong with your other bjd bodies. It'd be really cool to see the rest of her done in a similar style.

    22. Thanks!! :)

I was thinking the same thing IF i was to make a body for her but i've already made her into a bust so its too late now. However.. i do want to eventually make a similar concept into a bjd.. One day, when my skills are better lol

    23. I am very much in love with your style. The heads you've sculpted are so soft looking yet different. I absolutely love it! I hope to see that modded head as an art piece at some point. She's so fantastical looking! <3

    24. Thanks yukibombay!! Im in the process of making her into an art peice and im almost done. I've slowly moved away form the BJD side of things going toward more of an artistic approach to the BJD world. I seen alot of drawings of dolls but never and 3D stuff (other then the dolls themselves hahaha)

    25. More heads/ busts to share.

So i have stopped posting my stuff on here considering they're not BJD's but more BJD art pieces. However, i just re read the rules and it doesnt say anything about not posting different interpretations of BJDs.

If i am breaking the rules by postiing these heads here than by all means tell me and i'll take them down, and if not, then... Yay!! Lol

Ok so i've made a couple more heas/ bust sculpts that i wanted to show you guys. Each one has a story that im in the process of writing though some can be seen on my blog if you care to read.

      Anywhoo, here they are.

This is the primed and detailed version of the first head i posted, her name is Aki and she's the youngest of 3 sisters

This is Kaori, she's the middle sister.

And this is Airi, the oldest.

Here's the 3 of them together

So they are sirens who live in a small cove underwater. The all have intertwining stories... not finished writing them yet though :(

      Next is the woodland trio

The first of the 3 that i sculpted is my favorite and her name is Kumao (kuma is bear in japanese but i liked it better with the "o" at the end)

And here she is with a little color

Next is the rabbit girl who i have yet to name.

And last is the fox lady

They all live in the woods just near the cove where the sirens lived. They're stories will intertwine aswell.

The last one i made is based off of a japanese folklore tale called "the tale of the bamboo cutter. Her name is Kaguya-hime (night princess). You can read my adapted version of the story on my blog

      So there are my heads!!

Like i said before, they will all become art pieces that come with a written story. This is kind of my way of practicing before i jump back into the full blown world of BJD sculpting. I still really really want to make a BJD but i have sooo much trouble with it!! Im hoping that by taking a break from it for a while i can come back refreshed and dive back into it.. And finally finish one!!

      Anywhoo, thanks for looking!!

      Hope you like em :)

    26. OMG love all the pieces u posted here *-* I'm your fan.. Congrats

    27. Thank youuuu :)

    28. LOVE these!! Your styleis so distictive and beautiful! Aki and the bear girl are my favorites! :)

    29. wow these are lovely, I love the night princess especially!

    30. Thank you both for your compliments!!! I appreciate it^^

    31. I think your sculpts are amazing!! I love the lake heads the best. I have been exploring your blog and find it to be so wonderful and helpful. Thank you so much for all the tutorials!
      Sincerely
      Sharon

    32. Aww shuck, thanks :)

And im glad my tutorials could be of help to you. I made them for a few people that requested them but im glad other people are enjoying them aswell, thats what they're for!!

    33. Absolutely gorgeous on all counts... your style is so unique and lovely. I'm adoring every one. Though I must say I have a soft spot for barnacles. :3

    34. Thanks guys!!

@Jphobia: Totally heh?? I've heard so much about that comic and kinda want to read it.. Have you read it?? Is it any good?? And thanks!!! Love your work too :)

@Eidolon.Mandragora: Thanks very very much :D. And yea, i love barnacles too, i wish i could cover everything in them cuz i love how it looks!! I think i might have to make a couple more busts like that.. hmmmmm

    35. They are beautifull.
      I love your work!

    36. Your sculpts are really wonderful...I love more of the artistic approach to these dolls. Looking forward to what you'll create next!

    37. Thank you both!!

    38. Ibrev, it's really cute with fluffy animal-people but it's a surprisingly adult themed book :XD It's by two Spanish animators working together so it's really well drawn. Also, no offence on your bear person. I know people don't like being compared n' all. :o

    39. No offense taken, nothing is truly original now anyways so i take it as more of a compliment that my stuff gets compared to other great work :)

Im soo gunna read it especially if the drawings are good. Plus i love comics with that euro feel :D lol

    40. I love these sculpts lbrevner, have I told you that already?? The proportions are great, and I adore the slight variations that makes each one unique.

    41. I like the tutorials on your blog. I'm going to resculpt the feet of my doll now since I have now figured out why they aren't working. ^_^;

The new heads are lovely too and I can also recommend Black Sad. It's a visual treat and story wise quite nice.

    42. @twigling: Thanks so much!! And you might have said a thing or 2 on FB but any compliment from you i'll gladly take in multiples!! hahaha

@arabidopsis: Thank you, and im glad you liked my tutorials!! Funny how i've made BJD related tutorials but have yet to make 1 BJD lol. Im workin on it..

    43. I think I am in love with those heads <3

    44. Well thank you, they love you too :D

    45. Are you planning on casting any of them for sale? They are all so beautiful!

    46. Thank youuuu!!!

I do plan on selling them but not casted. They will be OOAK art pieces mounted on wood to hang. Im thinking etsy but i still have to figure all that out... yikes.

    47. You totally should cast them though. More heads for more happy people (that sounds a bit weird said like that...) =3

    48. I was considering it for i while but i dont know if they are the right size to fit other bodies. I only own 1 BJD and she's msd size so i dont know how to match the heads... you know? Plus i have noooo clue how to cast things or how i would go about doing that. Seems like a big, messy, expensive headache :(

      But a girl can dream....

    49. It's not too hard of a process... it just takes a learning curve like anything else. :3 I still think it's a shame not to cast your beautiful heads.

What about trying to sculpt a smaller one that would fit on the MSD body you have?

    50. Make a body for it and have everything cast by a company (whaaaaaaaat ?)
Nah seriously I don't know, I suppose your pretties would fit on at least one bjd body, there are so many different ones out there.

    51. @sarahM: Do you cast your own stuff? Well, i know you do but i mean do you cast all the ones you sell or do you make a "prototype" yourself to send off to a casting company?

Im actually thinking about taking your advice and making a smaller head. Although, i have tried it before in the past and failed miserably... but i think its time. Thanks!!

@La vie en rose: That is true.... but i had this whole plan for making these head sculpts and i want to try sticking to it. I've written stories for each one (i call them "fairy tales for adults"..) and i plan on making zines to sell on etsy along with prints of the heads. Im pretty much at the point with this hobby that if i dont start making enough money to pay for my supplies im going to have to stop. Its getting expensive!!

p.s do you love audrey hepburn as much as i do or do you just like the song?? lol

    52. Lauren: have you ever seen Camille D'Errico's work? She is an illustrator here in BC. I think you would LOVE her if you've never seen her stuff. She is a seriously sweet lady, too.

    53. The whole issue with doll hobby... it is becoming expensive pretty fast ><;

I like Audrey Hepburn, sure, but it was more about Edith Piaf here ;) Have you seen the recent movie ? Loved it.

    54. @ la vie on rose: ahhh of course, that is my favorite song after all. I just automatically think of audrey hepburn first when i see the name. And no?!? There's a movie???

@ Eidolon,Mandragora: How in the hell did i not notice that you are from B.C?!?!? Go Canada!!

And OH MY GOD!!!! I've seen her work everywhere and i didnt know her name but have been searching for it!! She's from B.C?!?!? I think im in love....

P.S. Where in BC are you?

    55. This one.

Audrey is lovely, I mean, I don't see how one could not like her :)

    56. Very very true. And I'm going to have to watch it, it looks really good :)

    57. Holy crap! The detail is amazing. Beautiful work!

    58. Thanks so much!! :)
