Body Comparison MSD Male Body Comparisons

After getting my lovely BORY boy on the new slender Model Delf body, a few people asked how he compared to other MSD sized dolls. So I decided to pull together a bit of a comparison of all of my MSD sized boys. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me!

Magnus's Notes: A rather tall and elegant boy, very nice detailing on the torso. Lack of hip joint is sad, but otherwise is a very good poser! I'm rather fond of this body.

Magnus's Notes: A very solid poser. Nice body detailing. Love the hands on this boy!

Magnus's Notes: A very short boy! I've had some issues with the legs being a bit loose that could probably be solved with either wiring or sueding. Arm posing is pretty good though!

Magnus's Notes: Just arrived, and I love it already! This body is much more slender and tall than Ver.I. Seems to pose fairly nicely.

Magnus's Notes: Of the two, I think I like Ver.II better, but both are good bodies. Ver.I should be good for shorter characters, as long as you address the looseness issues.

Magnus's Notes: A decent body, but probably my least favorite. I think it might be an older version of the body that is no longer available. Doesn't stand well, and I think my boy may have one leg slightly longer than the other, since he can't stand straight.

Fairyland Fairy Line Body

Magnus's Notes: He's short, but slender and lovely! The detailing on the chest and torso is quite nice, and he poses very well! Removable hands and feet are definitely a plus for dressing!

Magnus's Notes: This body is super nice! The detailing is lovely on the chest and torso, he has the nice mobility joint in the leg, and he poses very well! Nice and tall too!

Magic Time 43cm Boy Body with Magnet

Magnus's Notes: A tiny and slender boy! Comes with many magnets included for optional parts. This body is actually a very solid poser.

MYOU 45cm Boy Body Ver.II

Magnus's Notes: I love the elegant and slender lines of this body. I do recommend wiring this body if you get it, since it tends to flop over at the knee joints (wiring really helped!). The resin around the ankles is also a little thin (I managed to chip mine), but otherwise a lovely body.

Mystic Kids 45cm Boy Body Ver.II

Magnus's Notes: This is a very solid body, and a good poser! The Ver.I body (which I also have) is very similar in appearance, but has the thigh mobility joint. Both bodies are quite good, and I recommend them.

Resinsoul 45cm Boy Body (Tang)

Magnus's Notes: This body is very detailed with the musculature, it's quite nice! It also poses quite well. The hands on this body are quite nice too, I like them a lot. Sorry about the choker, I couldn't get it off for some reason today!

SOOM Little Gem Boy Body

Magnus's Notes: A cute body, for younger looking dolls. There are some issues where the legs can get a bit floppy over time, and sometimes the central joint pops out of the arms, but these issues can easily be addressed with a little wiring.

@Pooki Sure, more comparisons are great, especially within company too! Orion, my DollZone boy, always gives me one heck of a time when I'm doing photoshoots with him! You can see in one of his single pictures that I'm holding him by the leg because he just would not balance, haha.

@Lady Sai Inu I've never resized 1/3 scale pants before, and they'd have to be brought in in both length and girth, so I'm not sure if that's the best idea. My Doll Family H boy is currently wearing a pair of jeans from and outfit by Doll Creator on Taobao, which seem to fit pretty well. I'm pretty sure pants from TaTa's Paradise and Dreamer Works might also work, I'll test them on him when I get home to make sure. They've fit most of my bigger boys, though. Some companies will also alter items to fit, you could probably inquire through a dealer like Alice's Collections to see if they might adjust slightly to your boy's measurements.

Actually, they're pretty close in height! The model delf slender body is slightly taller, and a bit broader in the shoulders.

@Copcop Hey there! I can post some actual comparison pictures for you tomorrow, when my power should be back on, but from my experience the resin match for Yabi's resin and the Myou white is pretty close! (It also matches Doll Leaves White pretty well too, just as a matter of FYI. XD)

Hello hello! Ah, I see! I guess neither my head or my body have yellowed much, since the match is pretty good!

Here is the F&J Yabi head on the Myou body. The match is pretty good and it looks nice here!


And here he is on the Mystic Kids II body. You'll have to forgive the body blushing on this one, I was trying to give the body a scar for the character who normally owns it, and was a little overzealous. I'm learning, haha. Since this body is normal pink, the match is a bit off, but I think the aesthetics are good.

Oh, I've actually done this comparison before. It was not a very good match.



This Doll Leaves boy may be a bit more yellowed since he was older, but in general the resin appears to have more of a yellow undertone than the Charmdoll and is a bit darker. I can try comparing the Doll Leaves white and a newer normal when I get back home on Monday..

 

I believe he's a normal pink, so normal yellow might work out better, since the DL resin looks a bit more yellow tone. I will double check on the newer resin for Doll Leaves, though, since that doll in the pic is over six years old.

 

Throwing in a quick link to a photoshoot with my Charmdoll Renard with a bunch of other MSDs in my collection for comparison for Aesthetic purposes.

I'll be updating this post with pictures of a few new bodies I've gotten my little hands on, including the Kid Delf 45, Ringdoll MSD Body, Dream Valley B4-04 (who unfortunately doesn't have his head at the moment), and Withdoll Boy MSD, just so they can be here for reference. If anyone wants pics of the Dream Valley Boy Dragon body, Dream Valley Chaos/Order Wolf Body, or Dream Valley Bethel Body, let me know, I'm not including them by default because they're super fantasy, but always happy to take reference pics.

I want to hybrid everything on the new DF-H bodies, haha.
