MSD anthro kitty

Apr 16, 2014

    1. Hi everybody, here is the doll I am working on and have been working on for a long time. xD It is a very long process as I don't have a lot of time to work on him. Here are some progress photos that I've collected.

I have his legs cut off because they were becoming bothersome xD I am impatient to get to the part where I can separate everything and work on the joints. But I don't even have arms yet! I have been avoiding the paws because I've noticed with paperclay it is much easier to work on big sections, not so much on little details. I'm thinking about using a different clay for them... any suggestions? I really want to try making little human fingers too so I might make some of those. ^^ Perhaps with polymer clay?

    2. Great start :) I've use polymer clay/2 part epoxy and carving wax for small hands :)

    3. Hooray for more anthros in MSD size! I look forward to watching him come into being.

    4. Looks very good so far. I can't see much of his face, but I really love the body. I am using Milliput superfine white for small parts like fingers, that's a 2-component clay which can also me mixed with water.

    5. Here are some close up shots of the head as it is now. Still needs some work and I'll be hollowing out the eye wells whenever I crack him open.

The first one is what he looks like straight on. I included the last pic to show his mouth with his FAR from done. xD It looks like I need to fill out his cheeks from the lighting too.

    6. I like the beginning of the body, but I'm not too convinced by the head
In profile view, a cat's nose is shorter, and he doesn't have any upper lip ^^' I think you should move the nose up to correct this
And as you said, add a bit to his left cheek

      Good luck :))

    7. I worked on the feet a bit today, just building up the base to have something to work on. I thought about making them separate from the leg but decided to go with adding them on. I also started on the arms but they are just little cylinders, nothing interesting yet. xD

They stand! I think it's a combination of wet clay and glass that helps, but they are pretty sturdy so yay. ^^ I have hopes of a stable stander yet. haha
