Mostly sewing mostly.

    1. Hi! I do not actually own any on-topic dolls but the budget vinyl bodies I have allow me to draft patterns that will fit MSDs. I've been having a lot of fun with it, and I have an interest in every step of the process of creating clothing for dolls. I'm hoping to learn more about the craft, and hopefully about making other accessories for dolls like wigs and shoes along the way!

    2. Welcome! It's awesome that you have an interest in pattern drafting!! I love seeing 1/4 scale patterns as a MDD owner, and lots of other people appreciate them as well!!! (I'm actually trying to learn how to sew doll clothes as well RIP, so I'll send good vibes your way)

    3. Hi and welcome.

I also got into BJD's partly as a vehicle for sewing projects and have since expanded to wanting to make all of the things for the doll. The only thing I'd tell you to watch out for when making doll patterns on vinyl vs resin is that vinyl has some squish to it and resin doesn't. It's been a bit of a journey for me as well, because humans are squishy too, particularly when it come to getting clothes on and off.

It's great fun and a great learning process so I hope you enjoy it.

    4. Thank you, I never really thought of that! I've mostly been measuring with a piece of ribbon and then messuring the ribbon and so far it's been ok with muslin and quilting cotton, but are there specific patterns or techniques to watch out for that'll cause problems in the switch to resin?
