I'm not a professional or educated sculptor, so I want to show him to you right away before he gets smooth and detailed and I realize too late that I have left severe asymmetry all over his face, like last time I tried to sculpt a head. View attachment 464 (his nose is supposed to be that big and his forehead that small. His lower lip is a bit too thick though.) I'm sculpting him around a large glass marble, and when the face is done I'm going to cut his head in a way that allows me to remove the marble (a bit further than a headcap would go), and then reattach the parts and when that's dried, cut out a proper headcap and sculpt ears. I'm using FormoFit, it's the only paperclay I could find in the whole country. It works pretty well I think. If you have constructive tips or thoughts for a learning dollmaker, I'd love to hear it.
So yeah, of course I did leave severe asymmetry all over his face. I tried to fix that as much as I could, and this is what he looks like now. I'm gonna cut his head open to get the marble out now, I'm kinda nervous about that.
