Wearables Mori Girl inspired outfits for Minifee

Nov 24, 2023

    1. I’ve been wanting to do a Mori girl outfit for a while but didn’t have a character who would wear that style. But then I modded a minifee Dina’s eyes and she was perfect for a character I had in mind!:chibi I wish I had thought to take photos of the eye mod but oh well :sweat This journal will just be for the clothes :thumbup

To start, here are the sketches of the outfits. I drew one for each season. I already have the shoes and tights that I mostly got from Etsy. But the main pieces of the outfit need to be sewn and knit! I’m excited to make new patterns for this project :whee:

(Btw originally she was going to be a different sculpt that had elf ears. So that’s why all the sketches have pointed ears. Maybe one day I will mod the Dina sculpt’s ears, but for now they remain human.)

This is the outfit I drew first. At first I wasn’t planning on doing more, it was just her main outfit. Now I consider it her winter look. ;)

This is her Spring outfit. For this one I’m going to sew a contrasting yoke and add lots of lace on the blouse.

For Summer she will have a pretty sundress with embroidery on the bodice. Plus a lace shawl to cover her shoulders.

And for Autumn I want to be ambitious and knit her a sweater set!

    4. Thanks! I get lazy with the hands and feet/shoes hence the mitten hands lol I think I’ll start with winter since I have the fabric. Just not sure exactly when haha Hopefully this upcoming weekend I’ll find some time!

    9. Thank you for the love! :blush I hope to finish them over time at least by the season she is meant to wear them in  I love the summer one too! It’ll be ambitious for me cuz of all the embroidery planned, and I’m a newbie to that craft. :aeyepop:

    10. Some progress has been made on the first outfit! I sewed the bodice today from two floral fabrics. I’m not really happy with the sleeves cuz they are sitting funny. But oh well. The cardigan will cover the, anyways. I used a pattern from Etsy to make this. It’s called Meido for slim 1/4 dolls by RadDollClothes.

Later I will modify the top into an empire waist which should be really simple. Just pin the gathered skirt higher up the bodice. I’ll be adding a longer ruffle layer to the bottom to keep the dress long too.

    11. Just kidding I changed the bodice entirely :sweat I looked back on my drawing and realized the focal is really the scarf and cardigan. The collar would add too much bulk. So I modified a different Etsy pattern by Jauneyero. (It’s the Rachel top.) I used the top as a bodice for the dress. Then used the skirt pattern piece from the Meido dress pattern. And the ruffle was just 3” by the entire width on the fabric lol

I styled her in the dress to get an idea of what the outfit will look like :) Next I need to work out a pattern for the cardigan! Lots of trial and error are to come :aeyepop: But I’m excited for the challenge!

    15. Thank you! :whee:

    16. That fabric is so cute, will you make a matching dress for yourself out of it too? Matching with the dolls is so much fun :kitty1
The outfit's already looking great! What kind of fabric are you planning for the cardigan, or are you going to knit it?

    17. I will be making a dress with the same fabric, but a different style! It’ll have a button front and Peter Pan collar.

And yep! I’m going to work on a knitting pattern for the sweater. :3nodding: I just have to work on some people sized knitted gifts first lol But I might sneak in some dolly knitting here and there ;)
