Dollism Plus 2 was my first doll event and I loved it! Am glad I took a 3hrs plane ride to Hong Kong from Singapore just to attend. It was all worth it! XDXD Even though I'm horribly, super, broke now....

Here are my share of Dollism photos. Sorry some of them are a little less clear than I would have liked due to my digicam's intolerance to yellow indoor lighting.

Took quite a while to post these cos I stayed in HK for a week, and didn't really have access to a computer. I bought way too much stuff there

I had a press pass so I got to go in before everyone else :X

To be honest, I was expecting him to go for higher - the winning bid was $19,200 HKD, about 2500 USD... It was mostly a bidding war between #1 (who won BOTH the DOC [edit: according to Meow they're Peak's Wood? I'm still a little uncertain on that] One-offs) and #17 (who won the Ducan in the end). Most people agree that he'd have fetched a much higher price if he was sold on ebay.

Also, it just so happens to be my first boy's birthday today, so I did a little photostory here ^_^

 

omg omg so jealous of you!! such beauty!! did you buy anything there? *o* i wonder if those dolls and kimono was just a show or it was also on sell. kyaa.. i wished there would be doll-ism in malaysia too, but i know it would be just a dream forever -fainted- you are soo lucky

i really love those emperial sets and the wanted picture and pirates are really really cool gosh

 

There weren't any dolls on sale besides those from the company booths... Dream of Doll, Leekeworld and Peak's Wood were the only ones there, if I'm not wrong.

All the Kimono in the first photo were for sale, too bad I couldn't afford them ^^;;

Haha guess I should do a 'loot' shot as well?

I'm not sure, I didn't even know there would be DOC one-offs till the auction started... They were too small and far away for me to see what molds they were. There was one boy and one girl... I think it was just their outfits and faceups that were unique though.

No, I had to buy it separately... the jumpsuit was a great bargain though! Towards the end of the event, stuff was going on sale all over the place and I snagged it for 50% off!!! XDD

 

Thank you again for sharing all the photos!! They give me ideas to make some outfits for my doll. You are very luckly to be there! Did people have to wait a long time in the line?

 

Hmm, well people were lining up about 2 hours before the event, but I was already inside so I'm not sure how fast the queue went... I just know that once they started letting people in a lot of the booths were still setting up, and next thing I knew all the outfits were getting sold out Especially since a lot of the stuff was by local Hong Kong owners, there weren't many pieces/only one piece of each...

It was a mad rush from then on, to buy buy buy stuff before it was grabbed by someone else

If I'm not wrong, some of the S&K outfits sold out within the first half an hour...

and speaking of mahjong, it reminds me that our boys still haven't had the chance to play. ^^;; perhaps since i haven't had the time to build an in-scale table for them... the poor mahjong set is still sitting in my cupboard. :\

 

I got a mahjong set too!!! I wonder if ours is exactly the same size? I'm still uncertain as to whether mine's too small or just in-scale... Too bad it doesn't come with chips or we'd be able to play mj for reals.

Airfare was pretty cheap, I flew with Jetstar Asia the budget airlines, which I totally recommend apart from the lack of food served >: (

Yea, I was really hoping to get Shijimi's body soon, but all my monies was spent at Dollism Plus 2... *headdesk* Shijimi doesn't mind much though, he got a strawberry loli dress set and a kitty hat~ It's easier for him to stash away in my bag as a head too XDD
