Wearables More alpaca wigs I have made....

Aug 4, 2016

    1. So this is the most recent one I have made.. for feeple 60... I am quite happy with how it turned out. The wig cap is a little loose on her head, but I just use some eye putty to get it to stay in place... :) I think I am slowly getting the hang of it.. it definitely is a learning experience... Each one I do, I learn from my mistakes though and feel I am making good progress... :)

Here is a wig I made right before the feeple one...

Here it is before I curled it :)

    2. Those are lovely! ^^

Your color blending is both stylized and beautiful and I think you really nailed where the hair parts!

How did you get the curls so nice and tight and well purportioned?
and is the frizziness on that wig from the styling? Because it looks lovely but definitely has few more flyaways then the pre-styled photo

    3. Yes, the frizziness is from styling, I just hadn't fixed it in that picture. :)

    4. *U* Ohh those are beautiful! I love your color choices, especially the blonde one! I've always found blonde/ light fawn colors to be especially difficult to layer in a natural yet still eye catching way so mad props to anyone who can do it well~

Oh! If you have an issue with frizz and flyaways I highly recommend adding multiple layers of your favorite human hair products as you work with your fibers. Alpaca is a natural fiber so you can basically anything you can do/use on your own hair is fine to use on alpaca. If you have a conditioning routine, I suggest maybe trying out the hair products that you use on your own hair first since they'll probably work just fine and won't require going out and buying something special. For pre-washed/ready-to-use fibers I typically treat my alpaca with a heat-protecting spray before I flat-iron them, then after they are straightened I brush them out with leave-in conditioner until they are silky smooth (sometimes again after the wig is finished if it needs a bit more). I personally like the Frizz Ease brand leave-in conditioner as its a good middle-of-the-road spray that is strong enough to get the job done but also light enough to not to weight the fibers down too much or leave stickiness/residue if accidentally over sprayed. For especially difficult or lower-quality fibers I also highly recommend adding a small amount of oil spray as a finishing touch which will really help eliminate all those pesky flyaways and will make your fibers beautifully lustrous which is otherwise very difficult to do since alpaca is naturally quite dull. Products made for African hair textures, which also tend to be rather dull like alpaca, work amazingly as well just be very sparing with them as they tend to be very potent and little goes a long way.
TwT Anyways, tldnr, maybe you already knew/do that but just passing along what I know. Its always such a shame to have an otherwise gorgeous wig ruined by a frizz and flyaways.

xD Oh, also protip; if your wig isn't staying on just right, instead of eye putty put a thin layer of hot-glue along the inner rim of the wig cap. It works just like a silicon wig cap or hot-glue sueding to keep things in place c:

    5. Very nice.. I like both wigs especially the blonde one . Do you sell your wigs?
      Model looks like MF Chloe???
      Great job....wigs are not easy!!

    6. Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. My model on top is a feeple 60 Chloe and the bottom is a minifee Rendia :)
I will try the hot glue method and also try some of the tricks you suggested @Arkelle . I really appreciate all the information. I have been using a heat protectant spray and also some Argan oil. :)

I'm currently not doing commissions but sell my wigs once and awhile as I move along to new ones. They still take me forever and I don't want to be put under a time constraint to finish them, it stresses me out too much :)

    7. OMG this colors are great I love this pastel wig the best <3 alpaca fiber is so great to make wigs :)
But I have to admit that this blond wig suits your doll very well :)

    8. Thank you all for such nice comments. If love to make more but it is very time consuming...
