I just got a few wigs and they came out of the bags so full of static. Any helpful advice..also one has a crazy cowlick. Are these ok to wet??

Yes, you can get these wet, just make sure never to attempt to dry with a hair dryer(heat sources destroy these wigs). I have been taming mine with a mixture of water and liquid fabric softener(Just a small amount dissolved in warm water). Put it in a spay bottle, spay your dolls hair until wet throughout, then let air dry. It should be much more tame. If by chance you put too much fabric softener in it, you can just carefully rinse the wig and try again. Be careful not to pull the hair during washing and brushing, as any snapped or pulled strand of synthetic mohair is very hard to tame without the application of hot water to fix it.

 

How well do the 8/9 wigs from Monique fit on Feeple 60 heads? I'm looking to get a Sionna, which is obviously not shaped yet, but I'm guessing normal size unlike Soony's giant noggin.

First photo has a filter on so the colour isn't entirely accurate, but the second pic is a little off too. It's a gorgeous rich black with hints of a nice dark chocolate brown IRL. Sometimes it appears pure black, sometimes it's warm brown and other times it's black with brown highlights. LOVE this wig so much! And the softness of that fibre is just amazing and makes it so much more fun and easier to style than any of my other fibre or fur wigs.

 

Here is a pic of my F60 Siean with a 8/9 wig from Monique ( model " Jade " ) . It fits quite well on her head.

Snowgray, could I ask you a couple of questions about the wigs you posted?

I couldn't find this wig on Monique website. When did you buy it? Do you (or someone else here) know if they remove wigs if they are out of stock or is it possible that this style is no longer sold at all?

What color is this wig? Would be perfect for one of my boys, but the color charts are unreliable. ^^; Reddish Blond? Golden Reddish Blond? Maple Blond?

Hi @Mista Isilme. I bought the Blaire wig from Facets by Marcia in 2013. Marcia doesn't carry it anymore, either, so I'm assuming it was discontinued? The Paige wig, I don't remember and can't find in my e-mail the exact color. It's certainly not Ginger or Double Red, and it's not Peach/Beach blonde (a mix I think?) which is much paler. I also don't think it's Maple Blond, as they don't make Paige in that color. Between Reddish Blond and Golden Reddish Blond, I'd say it's more likely to be golden. This picture shows Reddish Blond clearly and I think it's more red than that wig was.

 

Does anyone have any photos of the London wig? I was thinking about getting it for my minifee

@skumring what kind of ink did you use to dye that pretty wig? It looks so nice!

 

I have used several inks. Normal drawing inks for the multicoloured one. A mix of different alcohol based inks for the inverse ombre and lately I have tried Molotow ink (acrylic based, alcohol soluble) for a white wig with black tips. I will see if I can take a picture of the types of ink that I have used, and maybe some pictures of the process, a small tutorial of sorts next time I have time to dye a wig. I don't remember all the different brands right now and I still have a couple to try out as well.

Does anyone have anything in "Milk"? I'm having a hard time figuring out what color that's supposed to be. White? Another white blond?

 

One of my girls' new wigs came today, and immediately I wanted to share. This is a Paige wig in Double red in natural Light, unedited, and is pretty spot on to what it looks like in real life:


Honestly I really wanted the carrot colour, but as the Paige style doesn't come in that colour, this is the next big thing!

Interesting to note though - I have the same style for her originally in the off black, which was super soft and fluffy, but this one almost looked a little..greasy? like there was too much hair product used? I just tried to wash it gently and hopefully that will get rid of the issue.

My be with you boys, Smiling Kiwi and Smiling Cherry are both wearing Monique Gold wigs in size 6/7.

Kiwi is wearing Joey in Double Brown and Cherry is wearing James in Dark Blonde. I believe the James wig is an exclusive to Facets Boutique and the largest size listed is 6/7 but has several color options listed.

Quick question...

Does anyone know if a 7-8" Monique would fit on a ResinSoul Gang head? I want to get Paris, specifically. I already know that a lot of 8-9" wigs are huge on the poor boy. Monique caps seem very stretchy, so I'm thinking it would work? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

(I already asked this in the RS discussion thread, but nobody responded.)

 

@Mekkisry I don't know if this helps but I barely managed to fit my Saint's head into a 7-8" Paris so I would say it may fit Gang too. Their head sizes are similar I think...

 

Some of the 7/8 sizes are large, some are on point. If there are no bangs, personally, I would go 8/9. You can always use a silicone cap or cause bracelet under the wig if needed.

 

@Amaterasu: Thank you for the info! Yes, I think the head sizes are similar. Though, Saint may be slightly smaller.

@mollym: I honestly wish I could try both sizes on. My Luca has been wearing an 8-9" Leeke wig for years, but it's always been too big on him. Hopefully the Paris won't be...

Monique's no longer around, but I have a lot of their wigs (mostly bought during their closing sale...) and wanted to share pics since it's still possible to find their wigs elsewhere. Here's a few, though I have more I need to get pictures of.

I wish they hadn't. There are still a lot of Monique wigs I'd love to have ;;

 

The original Jpop Kana wig is basically the same wig as the Monique Gold Label Jojo wig, just it always came in different colors that only Jpop sold. There are variations of the Kana, too. Long, Wave, and Wild. Even if Monique closed, Jpopdolls still offers wigs and many of them are very similar or the same as what Monique offered. They do have less offerings these days, but might be worth checking out.

Oh, I know. I have some Kana, too! (and Kanalong. It's an addiction lol) They just don't have as fun of colors as they used to and the last one I got (Kanalong) was rather thin compared to the others, which was disappointing.
