Been going through my stash of old heads recently and revisited my Demon Garden Basil and although have a body which is a great fit, cannot use due to the head design. See pictures below ... Has anyone done a similar mod to allow the S hook to rest in base of head, as per usual modern heads? I don't want to use the headcap loop. Is miliput OK, for example (I have had problems with it being brittle in the past when used for claw mods). Would miliput withstand stringing high tension? Thanks
Luts used to sell “neck donuts” (You can see them here) that went into the heads of dolls strung like this. The idea is to create something wider than the hole that can sit inside the head with a depression for the s-hook to sit in, so you wouldn’t even have to mod the head itself. I think Milliput (if mixed/set properly) would work fine for DIY-ing one. Hope that helps! ETA Now that I look at it again, they might still sell them? That might be an option if you don’t want to make one yourself.
Thanks @Amet I had tbh disregarded the luts doughnuts as I had tried them when I first got the head ( they are smaller than the head opening ) and when you place it in the head it just falls through... but if used on the body now realised that although the head rattles, it does stay on with good movement. If I use the doughnut I will probably end up glueing a strip of thin foam within the head to lessen the head rattle. I have rechecked out the neck protectors which are cheaper than the doughnuts (all mine are already in use) and cheaper in shipping too (China subsidised post is cheaper than full cost Korea's), so might order a few of these as they look really handy to have around too The neck protectors: Accessories for BJD Dolls - BJD Accessories, Dolls - Alice's Collections
