MNF Sircca faceup

Aug 17, 2018

    1. Beginner here! I got my new mnf Sircca and did her faceup right away. I wanted to try giving ger matte lips. I tried to make them look precise, but it doesn't look as sharp as I wanted. Any critique is appreciated. [IMG]

    2. I love the colour palette that you've chosen! She has a really nice style too, well done.

I see what you mean about her lips. They look good, but don't have that really crisp feel. I have seen some people use the peel off masking fluid for precise lines, some others use a very fine brush and a steady handhfor the edges, and probably my least favourite but one I have seen use by some popular/established artists is using a light colour to define the edges. No matter how neatly it's done I just find it distracting unless they are pushing a very stylised look.

      Good luck!

    3. Those are cool ideas!you! I don't think I'll be able to use a masking tape, her mouth is quite small lol. A brush might work, its done with pastels tho, maybe wetting the pastels could make a precise line.
And thank you so much for the compliment :)

    4. Did you use pastels? You could try using a kneaded eraser to go around the edges of the lips after you put the pastel on.

I love how you did her eyes, this is so good for a beginner! Is this your first face up or one of your first?

    5. I used an eraser, maybe should get a smaller one tho. And this is probably my 10th faceup lol

    6. Gave her a new faceup! Yay! Dont know if its any better tho. Do tell me :)

    7. I like the colour choice better, especially the lips. And the lip edge looks more defined so congrats!

This time I went straight up to gouache paint for the lips. Thinking ill add pastels on top next time I redo her. And probably will thin out the brows just a bit.

    9. Personally I like the lip colour from the second face up more, but that's just personal preference. I do think the eyebrows are looking better, more clean :) Where do you get your eyelashes from?

    10. Thanks!
I feel I definitely need to be more neat overall. The eyebrows are a bit too close together and kinda long, its hard to judge when I'm painting, but once I take a picture all the flaws are apparent. I like the lip color but the fact that it's not very neat bothers me a lot, so it's definitely not the final attempt. As for the lashes, they are Onyx x-up51, I saw similar once in Andrejas videos but the only place I was able to find them was Aliexpress. I do know they sell similar ones on ebay 3 times more expensive tho.

    11. I like her lips in this one a lot more. I have to say for a new artist your brows are amazing. I find for lips to stand out is to layer with shading and to leave certain areas like the corner or outer line
I really love the lips in this version the best. For a new make up artist your brows are amazing. I find to make lips pop shading is a help. I also think layering the shading and leaving certain areas softer and less color gives pop and focus to the lips and shape of lips. Gloss I think also helps

    12. wow I love all these faceups! I think the sparkly eye with the matte lip is super cool, but the glossy lip looks great too!

    13. Wow I love how you applied the eye shadow in your faces. Can I ask how you managed to get the eye shadow on so intense? The second faceup is especially my fave, the colors are very natural but still very glam!

    14. Thanks so much for all the praise :) Shading some areas and leaving some areas lighter might be beneficial for a natural look, i see it a lot on boy dolls and sweet girls. My girl is a bit vampy, so I would love her to look like she's wearing very pigmented lipstick. For the lipstick, I am yet to find the right materials. Looks like artists who give minifees that matte look use airbrush which I dont have. So I have to come up with a solution somehow.

    15. Thanks! Matte lips need to be super precise to look good :) I'm not there yet. I'll try again!

Aww! Thank you :) I use pearlex + pastel of the similar color in several layers. Another trick is to mix pearlex with water or gloss and apply for the appearance of a cut crease which I have done before also, looks pretty nice.

    16. Soo! I actually gave her another faceup very recently! Check it out. I did rush it a bit so some lines are thicker than they should have been. But I feel like she's closer to what I wanted for her. Next in my agenda is to make the lips a bit more defined using only gouache or acrylic paint without any pastel and thin out eyebrows a bit and put them slightly lower, plus try to define eyebrow hairs a bit sharper. As for the lashes, I experimented and gave her black lashes but I am not too sure if it looks good. Maybe i'll stick with the brown.

    17. Ooh thats such a good idea. My pearl ex always kind of disappears after applying gloss. Im going to try adding it to the gloss now. Thanks for the tip!!

    18. My pearl ex disappears as soon as I spray with MSC, when its a shimmer on the cheeks :D still dont know how to solve it.
