[Adopted] Mirodoll Discussion - Part IV !

Oct 22, 2014

    1. Thank you! And I'm happy to help! Restringing is usually (not always, sometimes you get lucky) a requisite with Miro dolls. I've gotten pretty efficient with it now! *L*

For the Miro boys, their hands are big. I suggest 65cm boy hands for them. I have DF-H hands in normal skin on my Aerek (the one with golden eyes and daggers on his back) sized for 60cm boys and I really want to switch them for slightly bigger. They work for him and his character, but it bugs /me/. *L* The resin match is perfect, BTW! With that company, you may even be able to use 70cm boy doll hands if you don't mind them a tad large, but I haven't tried that size from DF-H on him yet. I think DZ 65cm would be perfect, but their 70cm hands are much too big.

Standard sized 60cm hands work just fine for the ladies, 60-62cm. Not sure about that 70cm one yet.

      Aerek's clothing by DoA's own wampirencja. :)

      O.o

      oooh! part 4! Parrrrty! :dance

    2. Welcome into thread IV part! I've spotted your boy Chalyss, again he looks just great. I'm not keen with thick string, but i need to try with Mirodoll body! :3nodding:

    3. *Running to see it*

    4. Weeee we have a new thread!!!! :D
Thanks dear for sharing your OB, pretty useful! :)

    5. I am curious! Been looking at the Mirodoll site for a bit now, did order some clothes/shoes/ect. from them recently, but not a doll itself. They have a lilac color...anyone have any pictures of one of their dolls in that color? I really want a doll in the purple-y shade, so I've been looking around. ^^

    6. Aim the best place to ask is to Mirodoll directly or also in comparison thread, they offer a very lilac that to me looks much more magenta rather than lilac..i have this idea of changing body to Migma soom in violet..but mirodoll isn't consistent in replying a resin color even sending a sample of resin well helps just a little..that means that what is done from them not all time can be re-made again..:|

    7. I agree MiroDoll call that magenta color violet but is nothing like violet shading LOL
I guess that if people would like a lilac color should ask for a custom color :)

    8. that magenta color..i wonder if i should ask to Mirodoll about lavender color for Migma soom head or not..

    9. Oooh, a new normal yellow color to match those yellow-toned heads out there! I might just need that...

      • x 1
    10. I'm sure they can do it, but you'll have to send them a sample because that works best, I find, even for an approximate match; I find that in China they don't see the colors quite the same as us...

Isn't it wonderful?! I've already added at least 3 more bodies to my Mirodoll shopping list because of the new color! (Now all I need is the money to pay for them. O.o)

    11. Yellow color is definitely useful, sadly i don't know what to do..i mean i need desperately two more girl bodies..and i don't know if can afford right now another male body..:sigh:
Again i would truely love to have a lavender color matching with migma soom..but i'm afraid of the final result..didn't go well the last time i've requested a custom color..

    12. Speaking about special color i've just asked to MiroDoll is they could do again the same "ebony" that look more like dark blue/black and they're agree, i'm such happy cause is an amazing color that fit perfectly for my upcoming character, yai!:dance

    13. Whee, new thread!
And another color question: I know they have done a custom match for Elfdoll Homme skin before, but does anyone know whether they happen to have matched Elfdoll Real Skin already? I'd rather not have to send a headcap to China ...

    14. Jany i own infact two bodies in elfdoll homme color, but i really have no clue if homme and real skin are the same color. As far as i know real skin elfdoll is more brown rather then pink, instead homme color from Mirodoll is merely a warm shade of pink.

    15. Jany, you must keep in mind that Miro has only matched to a sample of Elfdoll homme that has been sent in by a doll owner. There is no way of knowing if that sample wasn't from a doll that had discolored already. So if you want to get a good match the resin parts from Elfdoll you already have, the ONLY way to give a resin match a good chance is by sending Miro a sample yourself.

    16. Yeah ... I was afraid so. :sweat
To be honest I have no idea whether or not my own floating head is discoloured, it was an in-stock leftover so it may well have mellowed - I've never owned anything realskin by Elfdoll before. I'm not that worried about sending stuff out, but I'm willing to bet customs will give me trouble when it comes back. :|

Does anyone know if they sell the XM bodies separately (= headless)? I'm torn between the regular Miro 60cm small bust girl and the XM Bella body ...

    17. You won't have to worry about extra custom charges for a returning sample, Miro will not list it as having any value when they send it back with the finished doll/body. (Do be sure you send out a headback or single hand out only, sending more would just cost more in postage and it would serve no purposes to the resin matching.)
(And do remind them to send back the sample!)

Yes, they do sell the XM bodies separately, just mail then and ask for the body-only price.
(But keep in mind that XM normal skin does NOT match Miro NS!)

    18. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll keep that in mind. :)

    19. $abbatha... layaway! *LOL* No, i feel your pain. I need so many bodies right now!

Ikke777, Good! I'm glad the new skin is already showing fairly popular! I need to grab a few myself. I tend towards heads that are ns-p, but a big reason is because Miro didn't offer a yellow. How bad is that? *L* So yay!

Jany, as Ikke777 already said, yes, they'll sell the XM bodies without the heads. I think it's a $20 price difference but XM dolls come only in beauty white (formerly creamy) and normal pink and as far as I know, they don't color match. :(

    20. Jany the main reason why i prefer to not sending resin sample to Mirdoll is waiting the extra time and putting extra money in shipping fee from me to company, pretty plain but it's that.
Sending a sample via registered letter cost almost 12usd to China, that's why i'm on the fence for lavender color, even if i can provide with no issue at all a sample resin from the doll i want to match the body :|
Moreover the few times i've asked for a custom color well didn't end well for me..so pretty much torn about the whole thing.

Chalyss i'm not keen with yellow normal skin, at all. Already Mirodoll NS is pretty yellow to be honest, but i agree that could be a great color for all people out there that own an old head or a yellow normal skin head.
It sucks about layaway..but at the moment i need three bodies and no money at all! :sigh

    21. Miro NS used to be more pink; I think they went a bit more neutral to answer both yellow and pink demands. I would like to see the NS a tiny touch pinker again, but I'll wait a bit before I ask for that. We just got yellow after all!

    22. Infact at the moment my request for the male body would be a Chrom soom NS compatible or again an elfdoll homme color, i'm fine with these two colors at the present. :3nodding:

    23. Thanks, everyone!
If they don't colour match for the XM bodies, there goes that option ... shame, I really like the feet. Oh well, can't go wrong with the 60cm girl ... this month or next, depending on Real Life. :)

    24. New winter promotion from MiroDoll:
      Miro-Doll-Winter-promotion
40% of discount plus other 12usd cash discount, looks great and promotion will runs from 5th of NOV till 10 of JAN :dance

    25. New to the forums, just wanted to stop in and say thank you to everyone for all the good information and advice. I picked up a head at a meetup at a convention, and bought a 60cm NS boy to go with it. Learned the joys of sizing... head is too small for body. <wah> so now I have collected recommendations from thread, time to go head shopping.

    26. Sadly heads are a pain to hybrid with a body, i love to put heads onto different bodies companies, but yeah takes a lot of time and effort! Welcome aboard in the thread :)

    27. JANY, you can always buy just the XM feet. The resin match may not be exact, but I was curious about those feet too and bought a pair for -I think- $15. Since my kids' feet are always in boot or shoes, any slight color difference didn't matter to me. It's an option though.

ERISRAVEN, welcome aboard the boards! Glad to have you here! You mentioned a head too small for a 60cm body. Is it an MSD head? One for 40cm/16 inch bodies?

    28. Why did I have to read about the promotion? le sigh. I told the wifey and she joked that I couldn't have more dolls than her. But we did agree that if I get the one I'm looking at [Lightning, after the promotion she's like $102 if I'm reading the promotion right] (But I don't think i'd get the face up on it) that she can get the one she's been looking at. [Iplehouse BID Elin]

    29. Reading about promotion as well, i'm such tempted to finally get my male 68Cm body in paper white and 62Cm gilr body in ebony sigh...

    30. Shoot, LUCKYDEATHSTAR! I think she'd agree to that! You get a Miro, she gets an IH- who would say no?

$avage, do it! Do it! Great promo! I'm definitely going to order some bodies for all my many floating heads. I'll have to do layaway though. Still, I'm pretty excited about finally getting some heads off the shelf!

    31. What's the difference between the Miro body and the XM body?

    32. SCHOLAR- The XM body is a completely different company, Xing Meng. They also do Magical Angel dolls on Ebay. Their factory is down the street from the Mirodoll factory, so Miro sells the XM dolls on their site for the XM company. Their aesthetics and resins are not the same. Miro dolls come with one hook, the neck's S hook, while the rest of the doll is strung. XM dolls have hooked hands and feet along with the neck S hook and they have jointed feet so you don't have to switch from flat to heeled feet. Miro also has oval wrist joints instead of round, though they've changed that on their 62cm girl revamp and the 70cm girl doll, I think.

I would say XM is more poseable, but they offer only 2 resin colors and do not color match. Miro offers fantasy colors and will resin match for free. Miro has what I call a superhero look- muscular and lovely. XM is more standard in their appearance. XM dolls are slightly more expensive. Both companies have smooth, satiny resin and XM dolls are more 'finished' than Mirodolls. Each has their place though, depending on what you're looking for.

    33. The new miro promotion has me all excited. I am patiently(!!!!!) awaiting images of the 70cm head as I really want a 70cm female in paper white. I have a whole ethereal look planned for her. I just love the ultra slender look of the body.

    34. It just depends on money of course. Might have to use my Christmas present from my dad (good thing the promo goes til January). Now I want to think of a name! (Already decided unless a name jumps out at me all my dolls will have a name from a Hanson song (actual name names, I mean. I'm not going to name a doll Mmmbop!)

    35. I've read onto the Mirodoll facebook group that sooner company will present the new skinny body, i wonder how it will looks like ;)

    36. I'm pretty curiosu about skinny male body too, the news was posted since a month now so i'm wondering if we'll see the new skinny boy anytime soon...
Chalyss is should go ahead and ored the female body i'm in need as i hold also 5% of extra discount during opening box promotion did guess by August/September?
But last time i did a layaway company pushed me to pay earlier than what agreed so i'm a bit torned...

    37. Hello again and congratulations on part 4 of the thread!

I was requested to do a proper review on the 62 cm girl body on Tumblr, so I thought I'd link you to it too. (image is link)

    38. Way cool, thank you so much!

    39. Thanks for your review Teadesu!
I noticed the same thing that didn't work with 68Cm boy body, i think that overall you can deal with it main issue imo are hands, expecially on girl bodies cause honestly aren't such a great shape

    40. Well this body is an improvement in the hands department over the 60cm body; these wrist are round and can take hands from outher companies more easily!

I have my 62cm girl now too. Here she is:
      (The head is from SOOM)

    41. $avage- O.o That's not good! I'm surprised they pushed you for it! I know I'll be doing a layaway but probably right before the sale ends, in January. I have to clear some things off first.

TEADESU- awesome review! I bookmarked it. Thanks for doing that! (I did actually mod an abdomen girl piece for them, removing about a centimeter of resin which allowed the body a lot more movement at the torso and the whole body didn't have to lengthen to do it. I'll have to remind the of it, b/c it does make a big difference in how useful her torso joint is.)

IKKE777- Oooh! Can we see a bigger pic please? My eyes are old. :)

    42. chalyss, I can't seem to make bigger than this. PM with an email address me if you want it bigger.

Edit: Okay, loudly complaining seems to work; it's now ful size HERE

    43. Thank you! I love her, she's amazing! You know, Dollmore sells dark tan/ebony strings- she may benefit from a restringing in that dark color, just so the white doesn't pop out so much. (Then again, you may not really see it much even then.) Just an idea. You can get the strings with free shipping on ebay. I know I'm gonna buy some of the ebony strings for my darker dolls... I just like thew uniformity of it.

    44. Thanks so much for the review Taedesu, the things are not working onto 62cm girl body well are almost the same on the 68cm man body, are nothing new to me  but good for some newbie to read so to have an idea of what expect from Mirodoll new girl body.
I wonder if someone got already the 68cm girl body, i would love to see it in real :3nodding:

    45. Ikke, that is one amazing color doll you have there!

I do agree with you all, people who have no prior experience with the company's dolls would certainly benefit from knowing what they can get for the money. The doll poses nicely with some practice, just like any other doll. :)

    46. Does anyone have a 1/4 doll from miro doll? All I see are SDs and I'm thinking about getting a 1/4 because they're smaller but I'm not sure what they're like...

    47. I have a boy 1/4 body and a girl 1/4 but are the old type, what you're looking for? :)

    48. I was wondering what you thought of them; are there any problems/concerns?
(e.g. for SD the hands snap into one of two places depending on where it's tilted towards)
      Thanks!

    49. I have all three 1/4 bodies (but no XM bodies) and they all have oval wrists. But because they are so much smaller, they don't snap so much.

I like all three; the older boy & girl are wonderfully floppy, but do stand well. The newer girl is less mature, and less floppy and stands well too)

    50. Thanks, this was helpful!

    51. Actually i don't like that much old 1/4 bodies :sweat i rather prefer 60+ bodies..

    52. Really? I like 60+ because they look more mature but I like 1/4 because of how small they are, haha

    53. Hello everyone. I'm hoping to get a Mirodoll body for my DIM floating head. The 62cm with small chest seems ideal, but what clothes does it fit? Does it fit sd13 labeled clothing?

    54. Emina they are quote small, in the range of mature MSD. Surely size helps, but these bodies are too much kicky for my tastes :sweat

    55. There's a thread for 1/4 Miro dolls too. It probably has more pics than this one, which is dedicated to the SD size. Worth looking into it!

MissKiara, yes, they'll fit standard SD13 size clothes, probably SD16, too. The small chest is a good idea because the bust line on the big one can get in the way.

    56. Yeah Chalyss i was pretty annoyed when MiroDoll asked me to shorter my layway, ok i had purchsed about 4 dolls but i've asked them before place the order about a layaway plan they agree on first istance and then changed their mind...that's why i prefer not going again into a layaway with company...
Emina MSD MiroDoll old sculpt body are pretty short, shorter and thinner than a slim MSD so find clothes for them is pretty hard but also pose ability is limited, hands basically don't have any ball sculpted look almost like guitar pick so don't move at all, and even adding S hooks doesn't imrpove mobility.

    57. Thank you Chalyss, that's helpful! I have a floating head that I need to get a body for and I've been making and buying clothes with the intention of having an "SD13" size body, so I wanted to make sure I didn't waste my time and money. :P And she's definitely a smaller busted person IRL (it's a DIM MNM head) so I hope the small chest is small enough x__x;; I guess I can always sand it a little.

    58. I have just bought the 62cm girl body as a hybrid for a dollmore NS Model head. The resin match is brilliant, as is the head/body proportion but I absolutely hate this body. It pops out of place everywhere. Even sitting it is a pantomime - ah well, you get what you pay for in the end
