Here are the heads together, Ruiying. I'm thinking of getting either Dollzone or Doll Chateau bodies for both. To my eyes at least WS has a bit of a cream/beige undertone as well, so I'm wondering if it would work well enough with the new DZ/DC WS.

 

Those are such cute sculpts! You should post photos for whatever bodies ou end up getting because they'll be so rad.

And same! I've been thinking about getting the D.C. 03 body for my Jing head since the white skin is a bit ivory

 

Ugh I'm just not bonding with my Vic2 like I though I would. I thought the head would be perfect for Ed, but now that I have the Vic2 head and the SheCow Mara head home, I don't think either are gonna work for her ughhhh. Just put an offer on one more head to try for Ed, but if it doesn't work I might be having a mass head migration. I hate when plans don't work. Like, you think you've found the perfect sculpt and then it gets home and feels like it literally says "that's not me."

 

@Wolfie Pie I'm so sorry to hear that. Failed dolly plans really suck. I hope you can find a head that will work and that you can still use the Vic head for some other character.

I'm getting a jing head in the mail soon. I haven't seen him in person yet since it was straight off to the face up artist . I'm excited to get the head. My jing is going to be a girl. And I'm getting a first version Vic head as well

 

@KiwiNinamori It's such a bummer. I'm trying to think of someone he can be, but I'm more concerned about having a bunch of floating heads. I was doing really good with almost having bodies for everyone and now I'm gonna have 5 SD-sized heads without bodies. And that may not technically be a lot compared to some other people's collections, but I'm mostly a Mini-sized collector so it's weird having all these big heads around.
A girl Jing sounds awesome! Jing is a seriously cool sculpt, there are literally no other head sculpts like it. And also congrats on the Vic1 head as well. I like the Vic1 head better than the 2nd- the bigger eyes he had originally are much better imo.

 

@Wolfie Pie I completely understand. I usually try to buy the body while I'm buying the head or before hand since I hate having floating heads around.

And here is my jing head!she came in from her faceup artist Jisatsu (chi no tenshi). Her name is Deja, short for Deja Vu. Her character is a deity who can see the past, present and future- hence the three extra eyes.

@Wolfie Pie thank you! I'm really happy with how Jisatsu did it like I envisioned. I'm going to send my Vic head to him next for another faceup. I'm so excited.

 

@KiwiNinamori Ji has my modded mnf Shiwoo head right now for a faceup, though he hasn't given me any updates cause I guess they're having really bad weather out there??? I'm excited to see how he paints your Vic. I think I've given up on mine. XP

 

I'm currently working on my Young Baiye! I've finished his wig yesterday and his faceup today.
I'm going to put him on a Jie body.

I'm sorry for not posting any extra body photos with Jing, I've been really off and on the doll stuff and have finally started working on a faceup for him.

Thank you! I will be making an acrylic wig soon, right after I finish this faceup. I'm so worried about it coming out right, since eyebrows are my weak point.

Yes! The extra neck joint works alright with the head, but of course there is some gappage. The extra neck joint also is somewhat weak with holding up his giant and heavy head, so it's probably best to hot glue suede or kip him on the neck parts. If you think you will love the extra joint look more, go for it!
I will try and take some photos tonight or tomorrow and put them up.

 

Here are the photos! Sorry for the poopy lighting, I tried adjusting them so they weren't glaringly yellow, but...they turned out looking very pink. Also don't mind his half-finished faceup. Weather's been on and off humid and I've been too lazy to finish.

Here's a photo with some white light so you can get an idea of the resin comparison. I'm not sure how old the body is, as the person I bought the body from didn't know, but I'll assume it's one or two years made after MD? I have no other DC dolls for comparison. The body IRL is definetely more yellow than the head (for obvious reasons), but I think it's a pretty nice match if you don't mind it. The colors blend nicely in photos and when looking at him, I don't notice the color difference unless some intense direct sunlight is hitting him, which is hardly ever.

I had some initially loose plans for him, but after trying on some clothes and wigs, I decided against it. I've done a faceup mockup on how I want him to look, but I'm not so great at doing the real thing Eyebrows are hard and my hands are shaky.

The hair is very rough but I want him to have a cute wispy white wig with some flecks of color~

Hi guys! I've been lurking on this forum before to really see if I wanted a Jing to shell my character, and you guys helped me decide to take the plunge! He's also going to be on the new 68 cm body (with head) body. I was on the fence about getting him on that body or the Doll Chateau Fergus one because I liked the natural slouch, but it's fine. So hopefully he'll be arriving late November! I also picked out a Zixin head and am going to plop that on a doll chateau body. Do you guys know if there's a Mini Miracle Doll Discussion board?

I posted back in October about ordering a Jing and he finally arrived 5 months later:


I plan to have him be either: some cursed supernatural ruler of the seas with barnacles and what not...OR an android. I really need to sit down and write out this story now.

Miracle doll gave me a lot of free goodies including a fantasy resin doll, and the MSD gift head, and 2 pairs of amazing eyes. If anyone wants to see a box opening i'll post it.

Does anybody have a sunshine skin Miracle Doll? If yes, what other company would you say it's reasonably close to? I'm not looking to hybrid but I can't find examples of their sunshine and I've maybe lost my mind and am contemplating getting their new snake demon. He'd be either WS or sunshine, depending on how tan that tan actually is. If it's barely darker than their normal then I'll be all meh abut it and go with WS. Additionally, would people say the WS is more of a creamier tone than a stark, paper white?

Edit (because I am not a useful tool *head desk*): I went back some pages and spotted some owner shots of the MD tan. It looks very nice and sort of butterscotch-ery. I have 2 AoD's with that sort of warmth to their tan and adore it. Great. Now I have a difficult decision to make between WS and tan.

 

@Iron_Dog wowwww, thanks for that, I hadn't seen the snake man so I looked it up... now I kinda want it hes a good price for his size, too.

He and DZ's Sawareida would look good together... neither has the appropriate texture for their respective animal (fish and snake), but they do have that woodsy texture about them. I was just thinking lately about how I'd like a snake-person bjd... why this. How long has he been released?

EDIT oh yeah, I totally missed that people asked questions... I have my ws jing on an April story s17 (or whatever my signature says). I think 15cm shoulder width is a nice size for him! Unfortunately I cant provide any decent pictures, since I dont have him with me, but imo the proportions are nice. The…” not a straight-on photo, unfortunately.

I find the miracledoll ws is a nice match with dollshe oriental and April story ns. (I'm pretty sure, anyway. Again, not with me)

 

@Xila I am an enabler of the highest order. He was just released on June 26th. That 10% discount runs through until July 12th at which point, he goes up to regular price (I think).

I already have a Sugarble naga boy and he's fricken awesome. I saw this guy and I was all 0.0 He's not smooth-scaled like a snake but I don't care. He's beautiful. I think I may be doomed as I'm almost positive I know where he'd fit in my respective worlds. My wallet is begging me not to do it.

 

I ordered a white skin 1/4 Jing head a little less than a month ago from MiracleDoll’s official Taobao store and she’s already arrived at my agent! Now that was quick, I wonder if it’s because of the direct order or because it’s just a head.

 

That is awesome fast! It's looking like a real strong possibility that I'm gonna order the new Snake Demon shortly. *sigh* The dolls own my wallet. I would love for a month's time as turn around but I don't see that happening. It's a bit odd, but AC is offering a 5% discount on him and Legend Doll is offering 10% him if he's ordered during the event that ends on the 12th.

 

I am sorely tempted to put a 108cm snake demon on layaway. I swore no more bjds but he is stunning. I know I am in trouble when I start picturing what colour I would like him in most. I love tan resin but could do a lot with white also. I have bought from AC before but never Legend Doll. Does anyone know what they are like to deal with?

 

I ordered my Snake Demon (63cm) through Legend Doll as they were offering 10% off and had tan as an option where AC was 5% off and tan resin was not an option.

The order itself was dead easy (I paid in full via PayPal). Roughly 12 hours later (I'm assuming because of the 12 hour time difference between them and me), I got a confirmation email from Legend Doll also stating that I had 24 hours to change my mind if I wished and that after that time, the order couldn't be cancelled. That was more than fine as I had no intention of cancelling *laughs*. They also said that once that 24 hour grace period ended, they'd notify Miracle Doll to start production on my guy immediately. Yea!

Beyond that... I got nothing as it's my first time ordering through Legend Doll, but so far, so good *crosses fingers*. I might be adding a pair of boots to my order (gotta check some measurements/options first) and if that does happen, I can make a note here of how easy/difficult that is to do.

 

Thanks for the info @Iron_Dog. I asked AC and they said they added the tan option as well. I also just got a message that BJDivas is also a dealer for them also. They are great and I bought my Venitu from them. They also offer long layaways if requested. My doll cabinet is full and I swore no more and still have a couple needing face up but damn he tempts me!

 

When you are heavily resin addicted, you will convince yourself that you need him *nods*.

I foolishly assumed that the 2 dolls I bought in April would be it for the year. Then I brought the Miro torso with me to Doll North (because I obviously live dangerously by daring Fate to make me purchase more resin) and bought an Angel Toast Crow head (she was a special guest this year). The fit is perfect and the resin match is so close (98-99%), I'm not even going to worry about blushing to match, which proves I tempted Fate hard with my actions as he's an "imperfect" cast with his colour being a touch off from what he was suppose to be (along with a few other minor defects that are not visible when his wig is on).

Of course, he needed a partner and a month later, MD released the first Snake Demon. Oleander (the AT Crow) immediately identified him as his partner and it was pretty much all over except for my wallet weeping softly in a corner. Then, while looking for shoes for one of my guys (why are all my guys such a total PITA to shoe?!), I saw yet another doll who'd make an excellent partner to a doll I've had for several years but couldn't quite find the right match. Should I buy this doll, that'll bump my collection to 52 dolls from 31 companies with 4 doll purchases in the last 3 months for a cringe-worthy amount of money.

I have never winnowed down my collection. Dolls enter my house. They never leave *cackles manically*. All the dolly peeps say Do It! We are all horrible, horrible enablers. We deserve a group hug.

Said doll is now only available through one dealer as he was one of those buy $X of our stuff and you get him free and the event he was part of is long over and I think he's... end of stock? or whatever you call that when a dealer has an event doll or two left over. I'm probably doomed as I believe he'll wear a wig that I've always adored but never had a character willing to wear (Mystica by Monique).

 

I'm planning to order the snake demon myself once I get back from a camping trip this weekned! Does anyone know how long Miracle Doll is taking on orders right now?

Hello! I'm wondering if anyone who recently bought from Miracledoll could tell me how long an order of a nude doll might take? My sister is looking into the MSD Jing as her first bjd.

 

I got a double helping of dolls today. Hyloceceus (63cm Snake Demon) arrived today as well as Liroshan (Granado Crowdfund 53cm Lucifer).

I gotta say their presentation is on point. The box he came in is beautiful. It feels like some sort of fabric is on the outside of the box and there is a very cool silver metal ornate handle on the side so you can carry the box. The inside is just as nice. The tan is a lovely shade of light butterscotch. Hyloceceus is much more delicate-looking than I thought he would be and he's actually prickly to the touch when you handle him due to all of the spikey scales on him. I think you could seriously stab someone with the end of his tail because it's so thin and pointy. He's fricken awesome and I'm pretty excited to get started on doing whatever it is that I'm going to do to finish him up (metal leafing? heavy glitter application?).

Not the best photo but I need time to take some. Here's Hyloceceus, God of Mysteries, also known as The Hidden One. He's the 63cm Snake Demon in tan and I wasn't expecting to see him until the middle of October at the earliest so, Go Miracle Doll!

He's amazing and quite spikey to hold. You could hurt someone with how stabby his tail tip is. Seriously. He's delicately sculpted but he doesn't feel fragile or like he'd break if you breathed on him too hard. His tail parts have a really good range of motion and I was easily able to get him to wrap said tail around his partner's body (he's paired with Oleander, who is an Angel Toast Crow head on a Miro 60cm body). There is a LARGE size difference in their bodies with Hyloceceus' body being more in line with a small MSD male (he looks perfectly in scale with my OD boys) but I think because he's very much not human, the human part size difference isn't much of a thing and his overall length helps as well. I'm happy with how they look together *grins*. He's currently blank and I'm trying to decide on what route I'll take on finishing him (metal leafing? glitter? combo of the 2? typical face-up?).

 

I ordered the huge snake boy at the end of August - he arrived yesterday (quite fast, I'm used to long waiting times from Dollshe or Doll Chateau...). He is an impressing doll and I love all about him (except posing).

Yea! Another snake demon. Hyloceceus is the smaller one (but still 63cm) and he has the same issues with sitting that you're experiencing but to a slightly lesser degree. It may be something inherent to Nagas though as Nassano (Sugarble naga) also has issues with sitting up unaided even though the jointing on him is amazing (so sad they closed).

One of my friends has nicknamed Hyloceceus Stabby-Glitter Snake because of that deadly pointy tail tip and because I'm also "painting" his scales in gold and black superfine glitter. He's still a work in progress though as there never seems enough time in the day *sigh*.

 

I recently bought a Vic2 head (impulse buy) and didn't realize how HUGE this head is... I was planning on putting him on the Guudoll 60.5cm body but now that I have him in my hands I'm starting to think that's way out of the question...

He's going to look bobbleheaded on anything other than a nearly 70cm body, isn't he? I'm really bad at judging SD proportions, haha...

 

I'm still eagerly awaiting a Baiye I ordered just before the discontinuation window.

Hope he comes home soon, Ive got a body waiting for him!

 

I can't speak for Vic, but I do have a Jing (who's head is 0.5cm bigger), he's hanging out on This Body (Which claims to be 66cm with head, but I feel like I remember measuring it to be smaller, and ~16cm shoulder width). I'm in the process of buying him a 70cm body, but that'll be several months yet.

People say the shoulder width (and sometimes also chest size) is key for making a good hybrid.

If this were my jing's forever-body, I'd mod the neck to be shorter (and color-match his feet), but otherwise i actually really like this hybrid, and it would probably look even better with a head that didn't have such a huge face lol. I'm only getting a different one because I can't get the parts that I need for my final goal (4-arm mod).

TL;DR there may be hope for finding a body for Vic2 that's under 70cm, if you can find the right proportions. Things with 16cm shoulders, maybe. I do remember debating between a few before buying the april story

It is not, in fact, a fantastic resin match-- but absolutely salvageable with a faceup. New DollChateau White, on the other hand, is a pretty good match

I like the new head sculpt! Bold choice to have the horns sculpted directly onto the head-- I think, anyway. Doesn't look magnetic from the pics. Hope that wont give them breakage problems while shipping!

The horns do appear to be part of the head sculpt when you look at the blank head.

I have a DC Clemans, which has his horns sculpted on, and I'm very nervous about taking him out of the house unless I pad the heck out of him (not only because of his horns, but they do present a concern for breakage to me). The MD horns look to be thicker and not as long as my guy, so it might be less of a breakage concern? But that's a complete guess on my part.

I think it's awesome they have a human body available as well since there just aren't that many mature minis kicking around.

 

I have a question for owners of MSD Miracledoll Baiye. What size wig do you use on him? 7-8 seems too small (I've tried several), but I've tried one 8-9 wig and it's too big. Any suggestions?

 

I have mine in a 7-8 (the official listing said 17.5-20cm) and it seems to work perfectly to me... It might just vary based on the style of the wig, though?

 

Did anyone see that @captain160626, the MiracleDoll sculptor on Instagram posted what looks like unedited company photos of a new sculpt? Last time he was posted, the master was only sprayed with surfaced!
