So I recently received my lestat head after a long long wait and here's the box opening: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...ll-lestat-(greatly-modified)-Mosaic-s-arrival! Today I got around to doing some "deco" work on him and here's his almost complete look. All he lacks are his props and a final decision on which eyes he should have Here's him all clothed and ready to go. Can't wait to bring him out for a photoshoot after his look gets completed!
Congrats, Azure! He looks great! Can't wait to see him done!! Yesterday I went to a meet and I think I found the perfect eye for my Vic. I took some photos this morning. It doesn't have the beast pupil, but I love the colors for him.
Your modded Lestat looks awesome Azurevsaztec! Love that tongue~ And congrats on finding the right eyes Abelthewicked, looks perfect. I think I've finnaallly found the proper wig for my Lestat. I'll have to get pics soon, he looks smug as can be in it.
I don't see many owner photos of Allen anywhere online. Wonder why? I've been waiting for my Allen head for almost two months now, which is pretty unusual for Jeeryama. They're blaming the slowness on the company, and have already sent the other small items that were in my order. I'll probably go with a ace-up similar to the company photos, or, if he fits on a female body, a bit more color. I'll try to remember to take some reference photos before I do a face-up. Update, June 26, 2015 - my Allen head has finally arrived! He was ordered on April 5, so that's well over two months. It's too rainy to do photos today, but I'll get to it soon. I'll need to do some serious thinking about how to paint the open mouth with teeth and a bit of tongue. His resin is slightly darker than Dollstown pale resin, but I think I'll be making Allen a girl on the 18 year body. The head/neck fit is good, and the look is weird in a good way; reminds me of Doll Chateau.
For those who would like to see more details of the Allen sculpt, allow me: His head is tilted slightly back here, so his face is really a bit longer looking, but I did this so you can see all the detail in the mouth. I also have shots of his right and left profile, which are significantly different, on my tumblr: http://nazani14.tumblr.com/image/123222029194 http://nazani14.tumblr.com/image/123221980299 He's in their white resin, which I would call a "condensed milk" color. He came with a very odd set of plastic eyes - completely round, with yellow irises not more than 8mm across. 12 or 10mm look better on him.
OMG, I love this thread! I have a Vic head on a MiracleDoll body I'll take some pictures and post them for you tomorrow!
OOoh @Stary_Zgred- You got the miracle doll body too? You'll have to let us know what you think of it! I believe everyone else on this board has a hybrid of some sort or another.
@Moko He looks lovely! That head almost looks like it could be a relative to the Vic too. @Stary_Zgred Oooo~ Miracle doll body? I want to see! I'm still waiting on my Ringdoll Body for my Vic, so he's still floating, but I started getting him together. I finally have eye putty for his other eye too, so that's in. I also got him his tail a few weeks ago. I still can't wait for the body to get here so I can put him together! The eyes are 16 (pink and orange) and 14 mm (blind eye), both fit perfectly fine in his eye sockets, just in case anyone was wondering!
Would any of you fine individuals happen to know how well the contrast is between Luts Real Skin Normal or Real Skin White and Miracle Doll Normal Skin or White skin would be? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated if at all possible. Thanks!
BlitheFool What stylish gentlemen! Their outfits are amazing SugarFirefly, BlitheFool Ian proved surprisingly tall )) Typical thin gangling tinager-Nosferatu )) He’s on A-02 Doll Сhateau body +Dollmor hands - we were looking for just such a huge clawed hands with long fingers, like in the movie "Shadow of the Vampire" Genevieve, Thanks) he likes stripy clothes))
Oooh! The different hands threw me off. I do love those DC bodies. They work quite well with the Miracle Doll heads.
I forgot to post him on this thread, but Lestat (Miracledoll Vic) has been complete with a body for a while. I switched him from the Ringdoll to the Angel of Dream body I purchased, but both look nice on him.
Thank you! I love him on it~! He really is the eternal optimist! The doll is incomplete in many ways, but he is missing an arm, which was replaced with a mechanical one so that he could perform in the circus, and despite all his past pain and loss, he still smiles and encourages others to enjoy his act so that they may do the same. (He's a juggler~.) He's my happy fox.
AlbeltheWicked24, It prompted me to look for his bio in the BJD Databases. His character inspired deep respect and sympathy
No_comment Yes, he is really really cool. Arrival is here: /threads/miracledoll-baiye-arrival.692810/
SugarFirefly, I fully intended to order elder of the two ghosts (I'll do it in a couple weeks) and now I see how cute Baiye looks in person More photos please!))))
Hi! I'm wondering if anyone on this thread has a Dollshe body lying around along with a Miracledoll head? I really want to hyrid with Dollshe, but worry about the shoulders looking too weird for my Vic head. I'm not worried about neck size as I'm fine with sanding, but I'm really picky about how the stature would look XD
I tried my Lestat head on my Dollshe Pure Body a while ago for funsies (pictures [here], [here] and [here]), and you'd definitively have to mod the neck hole to ensure the fit (modding the neck itself on the body might be bit tricky ... I can't remember right now if the neck hole in the Pure body is reinforced with a metal ring? If so I know I accidentally managed to take mine out on my 35s so it's doable xD) It's a bit obscured since the head without mod sits so high on the neck, but if you're willing to do the mods, it might look OK depending on your tastes (I think it's OK, but I've been told I like long necks xD) Considering how annoying the S-Hook replacement piece is on the Pure body, on the pictures the head is probably holding on with hopes and dreams (that's why it has no headcap xD), so it's harder to see the proportions clearly. I can try to take more pictures if needed ^^ (with the Pure or 32/35s bodies).
Ah, thank you so so much! Looks like for me the neck would have to be shaved down quite a bit. Or neck hole... Hm, either or! There is a lot of resin in the MD head, so that's probably be the easiest. Could I request a couple more pics? From a bit farther away (so I could see the arm length + head)? 32/35 body would be preferred, but it doesn't really matter, haha (whichever is most convenient for pics).
Done ! Here, here and here. The photos are take at a slight downward angle though >__>" (Blame my small flat ;__;") That's why I took two pictures from the front to try to show how the head looked on the body. I can see the proportions working for a certain style, but at that point you'd have sanded so much of the neck that it might be actually easier to make a brand new neck piece out of Milliput/Apoxie, since the 35/32s bodies have a neck joint (at the clavicle, not obvious on those pictures).
I guess i should stop quietly lurking here and post a picture of the newest member of my group. I ordered him last month from Jeeryama and I was expecting him later this month. The lighting is bad but I'm super excited about him being here. Here's my new boy, Mel. I love looking at all of your dolls here in this thread. They're all so cool! Edit: I noticed a strange musty smell on him. I was wondering if anyone here knows of a way I could get rid of it.
Prince Monochrome, congrats on the Vic! I can't wait to see what you do with him~! It's my favorite Miracle Doll sculpt I hope you enjoy him.
AlbeltheWicked24 Thank you. I think I might have to try hybriding him on my Akagi Doll, body. I've been excited for this guy because I couldn't remember the name of this company or even his sculpt name for so long. The only thing I remembered was his face. After coming into this thread, I was able to find out that and order one for myself. I love dolls with grins and sharp teeth. His face also looks just like an OC of mine so I had to get him. He's a side character but I always think he could easily be a main character in his own story. He's a thief that's in love with a goddess. I'm really excited to dress him since he'll be my only doll in modern clothing.
Congrats, @Prince Monochrome ! I love Vic.He's got such a great expression. I need to take more photos of mine. Are you going to put him on the 66cm Akagi doll body? I guess I'll share some Lucien since I seem to photograph him a lot.
Yep, that's the plan. If he fits, on the body I have, I may have to order another Akagi body. I love your boy. He has such an amazing style.
Those are lovely bodies! I quite enjoy the aesthetic. I have two of the 72cm ones and I like them. You *might* have to mod the neck a wee bit? Depends on how it tapers. I have my Vic on an old Impldoll Star body and it fits pretty decently but sometimes the 10.5 necks need to be sanded down. Thank you! I'm a sucker for fancy Dollheart stuff
Yeah, I hope it's a good fit. I don't mind sanding down the neck. If I have any problems with sanding, I can probably ask one of my old sculpting teachers for help. Dollheart has really amazing clothes. Right now almost all of my dolls are dressed in it. I told myself that Vic has to be in casual clothes. I wonder how long that will last.
Wow! That's such an interesting character! ! I'm so glad you found him! *clearly biased* I hope you enjoy him! He sounds like a great character!
One step closer to being done. I got Lestat's mechanical arm in a few days ago. All he needs is clothes, fox ears, and his second tail now and he'll be done (for now).
It's awesome that you finally have him, Prince! He has such a cute face, I can't wait to put mine on a body too. He's looking great, Abel~ That mech arm looks awesome!
I own a Lestat head in WS, but I don't know which body would be great for him. Maybe a Fairyland feeple60? Or a Dollstown 15? I slightly mod him. Here he is, along with my modded l'armoire de Dandan Harlan:
I'm afraid I don't have either a Feeple or a DT body at my house so I can't check for you . We have a few folks on this board that hybrided with Doll Chateau/Dollzone. I think @albelthewicked has their boy on an AoD body?
Yeah, mine is on an AoD body (older, but they don't seem to have changed their SD boy bodies since it was produced). I don't have either of those bodies to test either, sadly. Also, I think it's really neat you have a Harlan as well, Follow-the-Wind. I got one too. Lol
Thanks for your answer! I do have a DT 15 body, but an old one and it looks a little to large for the Lestat. At least IMO... but the new is less massive so maybe it will works... Feeple60 may be good too, but I've never seen one IRL. I own both feeple60 girl, feeple65 b&g, but non feeple 60 boy. Thanks for the advise! I will look for AoD then. I'll be curious to see your Harlan! It's a funny head
I'll have to show you sometime But the AoD works. I'm not sure about color matching, since mine purposely is a white head on an NS body.
Vic is finally cleaned up and I decided to test the head on my Akagi Doll 66cm body. I liked the results. The color of the head has a pretty close match to the body. It looks better in person than it does in the photos. And it seems to fit the neck pretty well. You can only tell that he doesn't fit if you Tilly his head up but it's not too noticeable. Well, it looks like I better start saving up for a second Akagi Doll body. XD
That seems to work quite well, @Prince Monochrome ! No weird neck bulging and the resin match is very close! I bet you won't even notice once he's got a faceup.
Yeah, I think so too. Now I'm trying to decide if I should do the faceup myself or send him off to get it done.
@Prince Monochrome He looks so good on that body! Proportions are good and he looks happy to be on it!
Thank you @crappyshappyshaw and I don't think he wants to give it back either. I'll have to order another one after the holiday.
