I'm seriously considering Lestat Adult ver. He looks so cool and I've never had a doll with an open mouth before. Plus, the fullset clothes are amazing!

 

Has anyone ordered a Rita? Or the supermodel body she comes with? It seems to be one of the only SD16 sized dolls that doesn't have buxom, Barbie like proportions I've managed to find. Just curious what others thoughts on her are. Her fullset is really pretty.

 

The new dolls/bodies are so cute, I'm so mad I haven't even received my last Miracle Doll order yet and here they are making me want to make another...

I need You Ye on the male body, the sorta overbite/bit lip is so cute

@QuietYurei I think that Sea Hedgehog on youtube recently did a box opening on that body, if that would help any.

So I caved and bought the MD Aseal head I'd been mooning over. He is now enroute to me from Russia and hopefully won't take nearly as long as the last package from Russia (Covid has been brutal for shipping things anywhere). With that in mind....

Is there a list or something anywhere that says what resin matches reasonably well with MD normal? My current in-house MD boy is tan so he's no help in comparing resin to what I already own to jump start my search for a body. The Aseal head was made in 2012 so I'd expect some mellowing even though he's apparently lived the majority of his life in a box. He has a gorgeous face-up I'm completely unwilling to wipe so blushing to match isn't much of a thing.

He has a 9.5cm neck and was originally released on a 65cm body. I've already had a dealer contact MD and ask about casting the original body but they said no (*sigh* it was a long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained). Current 65cm MD body (V1) has a 10cm neck and is a little more muscular than I had in mind for the character (and I'd need to sand the neck). The 68cm body (V1/V2) has a 10/11cm neck (and too muscular). I'm very willing to be flexible on height for this guy so any suggestions would be welcome.

 

So! Allie's new body came in! And oh boy, it isn't just the sealant that yellowed. He's definitely showing his five years in the tropical heat, and that's perfectly fine since Allie IS a very sickly character. It does mean I'll have to blush him for matching until the body catches up (he looks like he's at his max and appears to be color-stable) but that's not too much of a problem.



I love this body--the resinsoul 72--for him. I was afraid I'd need to spend a lot of time working on the neck for it to go in the neckhole, but it fits just fine. The only time you can see the slope of the neck is when his head is tilted, like it is above, and I'm not too bothered by it. (I had to basically hack at the AOD 60 body's neck for ages for it to fit him and it still wasn't quite right, so this was a relief.) I'll worry about blushing him some other time and get sueding him squared away so I can dress him and put him back in his spot until I've worked up the energy to mess around with my pastels.

This really is such a lovely body, especially for the price. ;w;

 

I have received the Asael head and in testing it on different bodies, I noticed that there's no notches in the inside of the head for the S-hook to securely rest in/on. Is this is normal/common thing for MD heads? Or is it something in the older heads? How do you guys deal with this? The assorted bodies I've tried the head on all had the S-hook slip back into the neck hole when I was testing the mobility of the head (turning side to side, look up/down). Should I attempt to carve some notches for an S-hook to rest in to fix this?

Also, asking again, does anyone know what MD normal matches/is close to? I've tried him against all the NY dolls I have (I don't own any NP dolls) and the only ones he was close to was Lume Doll NY (98%), HZ NY (95%) and Camilla Dynasty (95%). Lume and HZ aren't making 1/3 dolls (and the HZ neck is too big). CD is still making 1/3 dolls but the neck is much too big and the body is too immature.

For most of the NY I have, the Asael was much too light to be anything better than maybe a 75% match *sigh*. He's lighter than Dollshe oriental and darker than Dollshe fresh if that helps anyone. He's also lighter than Obitsu WS.

 

Whoa, I was just looking around on MD's taobao shop and saw this cool dude! Pretty awesome set of heads. I wouldn't mind grabbing 'em if they released them through a dealer. I haven't seen these before but got curious after Dolk listed their new 72cm body.

 

@Iron_Dog If there is enough space in the head, orient the s-hook horizontally! You do this by slipping the elastic to the exact middle of the hook, and having it lay flat horizontally across the opening. It then blocks itself from slipping out. Alternatively of course you could carve some notches!

 

@nattherat Oh, cool! I hadn't thought of doing that. Out of all the dolls I own, his is the only head that doesn't have little grooves/notches to rest an S-hook so this has never been an issue for me. There should be enough space as long as whatever body he gets doesn't have a huge S-hook.

 

I was just looking at this guy the other day. I love the faceups they show in the promo pics, too. Awesome.

I have been looking at the 72cm body too (clover singing) but I know nothing about Miracle Doll. Are they good posers? (My main thing.) And how do they compare to Loongsoul bodies? Are they stable?

Does anyone have photos of the 60cm bodies? The promotional photos are heavily blushed.

 

Does anyone have an example of their Normal Pink skin? I have a Vic head in NS which is definitely yellow, but I want to get a Maoyou body for a different head that's definitely more on the pink side!

 

If anyone has the version 3 65cm female body and the 65cm male body would they be able to post pictures of them side by side please? I'd prefer without heads if possible.

Anyone have a Miracle Doll / Universe Doll hybrid (normal skin) or know if Miracle doll resin is a match for Luts real skin normal? Thank you!

 

I've been trying to find a photo anywhere of Miracledoll's grey skin resin color that isn't one of their promotional pictures. I'd love to see how the color actually looks unedited, and in a more natural lighting than spotlights - does anyone own a grey skin doll that wouldn't mind taking a picture of it? I'm really hoping that it's more purplish in it's color that some of their photos make it look like, but I'm worried that it might be too desaturated for me..

 

I ended up finding a picture on Instagram of a non-company photo of they grey resin and it seems very desaturated, almost completely pure grey. Which is cool, and I think I might get that for their little moth creature! But it doesn't fit with the idea I had for the 60 cm body, so I guess I'll just end up getting that in normal skin.

ALSO - did anyone see miracledolls own Instagram post of a 3d render of Jing from back in July that says something in the lines of 'see you in September'??? I am completely dying at the premise of them maybe rereleasing Jing!! I will absolutely have to get a Jing head, no question about it! I guess there's not many days left of September, I hope I'll see him up for sale somewhere on a dealers site. ❤️

 

@DeadlyNyappyRomance I haven't seen any owner pics of the grey resin :0 I didn't notice they had it as an option until recently. And YES! With the new photos out, new Jing is going to be so awesome! I love romantic/half closed eye dolls~

I've bought a Miracledoll Chihuo last year, an I'm so happy I finally painted his faceup! I'm very sad he was discontinued, like Baiye (Young Baiye, the SD version of Baiye). I find them so handsome! I would have love to see more of them. Any owner of Chihuo or Baiye here?

Does anyone know if MD's normal resin is a close match to Volks normal/ps fair?

The new 68cm body looks fantastic - I love the curvy legs I hope there will be a 60cm range soon - I'd get it for my floating heads.

 

@krystina Yes! I saw the body last night on MD's taobao page. I don't really care for how the back leans/curves so far backwards the way it does, but so far it's the closest body aesthetically to what I've been looking for my LLT Edria head.

 

Haha I was thinking the same- back looks kind of painful to me. I’m hoping it won’t be as noticeable with loose clothing. I wish we can see how far the upper piece torso can bend forward. I want to see if it can slouch

And yes the romantic eyes Jing is perfect! I'll be buying him for SURE. I love the differences in sculpting they've made - he's very balanced and soft and I'm really digging the new nose.
I'm also a little more than tempted to get the 68 cm body too, it's so so elegant!

The changes on these older sculpt versions is so cool to see! New nose on Jing makes him look so mature~

MD makes such fun sculpts, I lament sometimes that they don't have separate mouth parts, just because I find it so difficult when cleaning out my Vics and Jing's mouths

As for the bodies, seems that it is a trend for the new bodies to be very curvaceous in their default positions lol. Even the body for Baiye v.2 is quite cheeky with that arch in his back!

 

I did it!!!! I caved in last night, and I bought a Jing - both with body and head!! Aaaaa. I couldn't fall asleep after because I was so full of adrenaline. He's going to be so difficult to wait for lol!

@crappyshappyshaw oh haha, I can definitely see how it must be difficult to clean! It's probably more challenging to cast a doll head with separate teeth parts, I assume! When I have to clean out difficult parts I usually use wooden toothpicks that I soak in acetone for a while so they become a little softer. It's the best method I've found so far. Hopefully the faceup I give Jing will last a while, so I don't have to go through the hassle hah.

I recently acquired a Sugarable Genie head that has sculpted teeth and he needed his face-up wiped immediately. Cleaning between his lips took the longest time and there's still some trace paint that I just couldn't get gone (a new face-up should cover that). I used a wooden toothpick with a tiny bit of a cotton ball wrapped tightly around the point and soaked in Windsor & Newton to dig at the stubborn paint in the creases. I'd also dripped a tiny bit of W&N directly onto the mouth and let it sit for a minute to help loosen the paint before going at it with the mini cotton swab I made.

I also removed full-body black acrylic spray-paint from my Impl Miguel the Demon Hunter using the same toothpick cotton swab method in all the grooves, swirls and crevasses he has (and he has a LOT). I couldn't get all of the paint out of the grooves, nor did I expect I would, but the toothpick swab was pretty effective. The remaining paint bits are covered by the gold, silver and copper metal leafing I did on him.

@mincy Welcome! Really cool eyes in him for sure, and I get you completely, when I got my v.1 Vic he lay bare for an embarrassingly long time... It was only until after I painted my v.2 Vic that he finally got painted up (・・；)

@Iron_Dog You said it, the toothpick+cotton method is the go-to for those tiny nooks and crannies. I try to just use the high percentage alcohol for wiping faceups, but since the pandemic and that being harder to get ahold of, W&N is forever the GOAT.

 

@crappyshappyshaw I've seen only two Young Baiye on the marketplace in 5 years : the one I bought back in 2016, and the one a friend bought this year. That's not a lot!

 

Some sculpts just never seem to hit the 2nd hand market. It might be because they weren't very popular to begin with so not many were sold or people who bought them don't want to part with them or a combo of the 2. A good number of my guys fall into this category actually.

I don't think I've ever seen another Aseal for sale 2nd hand aside from the one I bought and he was released back in 2011. Fine, he was limited to 50 but still; to have only seen 1 for sale (and only the head at that) in 10 years.... I don't remember seeing any owner pics of him either. I can only remember seeing 2 DZ Edwards for sale 2nd hand in the 10 years or so that he's been around although he has been long discontinued. I think there's only really 3 of us semi-active here on DoA with one and he wasn't limited and is a beautiful sculpt (in my opinion). Impl Ziv is still available and has been for years but I can only remember seeing him once in the MP (and he'd had an eye-opening mod) and I think I've only seen other owner pics of him from 2 other people here on DoA. I think he's lovely but I'm heavily biased as I have 2 of them.

 

I’m also so tempted to hop on the Jing train! All those eyes! I was wondering though, if anyone else had ever tried putting him or any of MD’s other big heads on female bodies—the combination of the 10cm shoulders and the also 10cm neck is throwing me off for how well he’d hybrid

 

So, I ordered the new body in normal. Lets just hope MD's normal is even a remotely OK match to old LLT normal.

I'll be hopping on the new jing train eventually, (because, of course I am...) but i think I'm going to wait for the jury to come back on the new body. I LOVE it's majestic curvyness, but noooooo, why that massive back arch... it's important to me that this character can slouch and curl up tightly. I want to love that body for him so bad, but I don't think it can do what I want without being chopped up and re-jointed in the torso, and that's quite beyond my skills I do really enjoy it, though, so maybe I'll just..... get it anyway...............

my hunt for the perfect body for my jing character is seemingly never-ending. The new DollFamily H body does give me similar vibes to this body, however, just with less... wwwwhimsy? Can't help but be concerned that they've covered the thigh peanut in the knee-to-chest picture, though...

My jing is currently getting his cruddy, filthy, damaged, much-well-loved faceup redone (yes I bought a 2nd head instead of just wiping the first, lol. The old head was slightly color matched, but it mostly really is the zukimura being THAT yellowed!!)

Here's a preview... just need to darken the details to match the original intensity and shapes. I also removed the fangs, as they didn't suit this character. We'll see if I enjoy the end result, or if I'll redo it yet again (this is already attempt 2 )

I'm sorry @dragoneye1300 , I've never taken the company faceup... but the lion human version is very handsome.

I wanted to show my Lestat who finally has a body! He is on Dollzone 62cm boy body.


Fun fact : I give him an other doll's previous body. And I found in my notes that it was a body I initially bought for my Lestat, back in 2016

 

@dragoneye1300 I have a miracle doll Vic with company faceup - it's pretty close to promotion pics with minor variation in tone due to different resin colour I guess?

I have a little moth fullset on the way too so when he arrives I will post pictures to show how the company face up looks.

@snowgray Sadly, I'm still waiting for the body. I think I read somewhere that Miracledoll's current timeline is about 8 months, and I'm only about 4 months in. So, I may have a while to go.

Did anyone get their new Sleeping Jing head/doll in? I got mine in, and was very surprised by how small he was. I almost thought I was mistaken, and he was actually 1/4.

I am new to Miracledoll and have been only collecting dolls from companies where "yellow NS" and "pink NS" aren't a thing. This new muscle body caught my eye, but if I get it, it will be a hybrid with a head from a company that does not offer different shades of NS. Not sure which company yet, but could be SartoriaJ. It also confuses me that MiracleDoll's NS pink is stated NS pink everywhere, but some dealers (Newclover) use the term "yellow NS" while others (Bjdivas) just use the term "Normal skin" of the more yellow tone.

Does anyone know which Miracledoll NS resin, yellow or pink, would be closer to a "natural" fair skintone, or have pictures of either of them with something to compare to? I once purchased NS pink from DFH and it matched literal nothing I had of the 10 different normal skins. It was very pale and rosy pink. I would like that to not happen again with this lady. But I have worries with the Miracle Doll NS yellow too because I fear it would be too yellow to match any brand new heads in regular normal skin.

 

There is a color comparison photo on the Clover Singing’s website. I assume ns is the same as ns yellow. I am interested as well with no experience with Miracle Doll. The shoulder width is what attracted me. (I adjust head colors a lot so I have less worries.)

 

I'm also interested in hybriding the new muscle girl body, and trying to pick which head to hybrid and which colour I should go with. That body is just so gorgeous. I actually really like the head too, but I have so many floating heads with a similar neck circumference to this body too... Argh, I sincerely wish the body wasn't limited!

 

Sometimes they bring discontinued/limited sculpts back. No guarantee but it could happen....
