Hehehe. I love both of the heads a lot. Granted, my OE head doesn't really have a detailed faceup since she's supposed to look rather lifeless. I'm debating giving her a more detailed look though. But, atm she's going to stay rather zombie-ish hehe
When you say both with faceups do you mean default from FL?

I like the crossed lashes, too, so I'm very glad they haven't totally vanished! Maybe Fairyland will do them on request?

Please please please post with MNF! I loved the earlier picture with the pile of food (to lazy to go back and find the username, but whoever it was, thank you) but I'd love to see better shots of the food in scale!

 

It's mostly for IngieBee. She tends to drool over my girl and likes the warning so she's not taken by surprise.

 

I don't know if "crossed" is, like, the official name for them, but some of the lower eyelashes make little triangles as they go out from the eye, as the tips of each lash touch another lash, like on my Isol here, or on the Fairyland fullset pictures for Rheia, Luka, Eliya or Karsh:


On other lower eyelashes, the lashes go straight out from the edge of the eye, and don't cross each other, like on alogue's adorable Miyu here.

Wow, it's amazing how much gets posted in a day. I check last night before going to bed, even made a comment, and now I'm about four pages behind. Loving the spam guys. All your dolls are looking gorgious and congrats to those getting new dolls. New doll = squeel time

It's interesting about the crossed lashes though. I've never noticed, but that does seem to be a trend with the default face-ups. I wonder if that's an artist preference though since most of these dolls are painted by Japanese/Korean...ect artists. I like them though. I think their a little more realistic cause I don't know about you guys, but my own lashes never follow straight lines

 

So now I am curious-- are you all saying that the crossed is newer while the straight lashes are the old-style? I'm curious if that applies to the boys too though, 'cause my Seorin has straight.

 

they used to have straight, and then they went crossed for a while, and i think now they're back with straight lol changes with new face-up artists i suppose

 

I *think* the straight ones have come around often again since the LittleFee Leah was released (like December? January?); I know that in the LittleFee thread there was some discussion because some Leahs came with straight, some crossed. Previous LittleFee releases had crossed (my Rachel, for example), and several of the MiniFee fullset pictures are crossed, even the most recent Woosoo fullset, but then the most recent LittleFees have straight lashes even in the promo pics.

Maybe this is just a call for EYELASH SPAM!!!!!

 

My MNF Ryeon shipped today~! I'm getting her (hopefully) Wednesday! I just had to share the squee because omg, you guys, I'm excited!

 

Ahh hmm.

I am curious what they would be at then. 'Cause since I do want to get a Miyu, I would prefer to get her with her stock faceup; though I think I would prefer her with the faceup that Alogue has on her for instance, instead of what she had before ('cause her lips seemed thinner as well; where as what Alogue posted, her lips look more detailed).

Also; If I were to take a stock faceup from FL; if I were to seal the faceup again and then add pastel over the eyelid, and re-sealed it, do you think that would be alright? Like covering what's there instead of taking it off and risking wasting the money I would have spent on her faceup?

Grrar, I hate when you buy something off the MP and the seller doesn't update you on whether or not its shipped yet...

Hehe, I could talk for HOURSSSS about my dolls haha! Good thing I have a friend who lives nearby so that I can talk someone's ear off LOL! She doesn't seem to mind though, we bounce story ideas and character ideas off each other constantly so it's never a boring moment with us hehe. I was going to wait for an event to order Mina's body but I wanted her NAO so I just ordered lol. impatience is my middle name! XD

Omg, I know who to go to if I need eye color comparisons! XD

Hehe, Cherry is my favorite Luts sculpt. >w< Everybody keeps saying that Luts resin is much lighter than FL resin, but Mina's head is darker O:! Maybe she's just really reeeeeaaallly yellowed, which doesn't make much sense considering she's been out of sunlight for a good year and a half of the two years I've had her since she was just a head.. O___O;;

I hate putting eyelashes on haha! I just re-did Mina's faceup today because I was bored and her old one made her eyes look droopy, and it took me a good fifteen minutes to get eyelashes on! they kept sticking to my fingers and the toothpick and tweezers ;O;

Speaking of Mina... New faceup and EYELASH SPAMZ.

Thanks, everyone. I'm ridiculously excited... my Ryeon will be my very first Minifee~ I'll be getting her on Wednesday (we're pretty sure). If not, Thursday. I cannot wait. (I'm going to keep saying that. xD)

I've been stalking this thread and looking at all the pretty MNFs ever since I decided to get one... one of hopefully many :P (my bff and I have planned to get MNFs for the casts of two of our stories, so... we're calling them the Minifee Brigade XD) I love everyone's dolls on here

Also, I really need to get some of the doll-sized food. It'd be so cute. I have a couple of lolipops that someone gave me, but that's it right now. xD

 

OMG!!! I ordered his eyes!!! I don't even have him ordered yet, but I only have to a few things left.

All thats left is a fox hat, socks, and jeans with a hole in one knee. Does anyone know of where I could get any of those things???

Haha, you're like me, roserising! I have, like, twenty characters planned out that will require MNFs for photostories, and the majority of those characters were planned out before I even ordered Fionha, let alone before she arrived. XD

Mortifox, I was super excited when I first ordered Fionha's eyes, too. They arrived several weeks before she did, but it was the first thing I owned for her and I was sooooo excited when I finally saw them, haha. As for jeans with a hole in one knee, you can easily put a hole in one knee yourself if you find a pair of normal jeans. All you have to do is cut a teeny pinprick hole where you want the tear/hole, then rip it to whatever width you want and use sandpaper or something equally rough to make the edges look worn and frayed. Or you could even just use sandpaper on the spot you want a hole in, that'll make it look more like a worn hole than a tear or rip... I did this to a pillow, and it was really easy.

 

Ooh! Thanks for the hole advice! That doesn't sound as hard as I thought it was at all! So I guess I just need to do some jean shopping for my boy :3 I have all the things I need for him except what I listed prior.

I am too excited! I am trying to wait until Fairyland returns from vacation on the 4th and it feels like they've been on vacation for an eternity. If they don't announce an event after a few days or so, I'll probably just order her. I am just impatient, but I know if I ordered her and then a week later found out that there was some sort of event, i'd kick myself. It's not like I'm in a rush, just impatient!!! Her Leeke wig arrived today!

Love your Ryeon! I might want to have her eventually too! I'd never noticed her really until the last week when I saw a couple pictures of her that caught my eye. Good luck with your job interview and getting the job! I know that can be very stressful. I was unemployed for 5 months last year after a layoff and it was stress for months.

I can't remember who, but I saw the other day that someone said you can request an eye color when you order them from fairyland even though it says random. Is this true?

Haha, I have a couple of these erasers! I have a pink ice cream cone similar to yours. I went to visit my parents several months ago and my mother had some food erasers in bigger packages. I asked her if I could have them, but she was going to send them to my little neice so she wouldn't give them to me. She probably thought I was nuts for asking, but she doesn't know about most of my dolls and didn't know why I wanted them.

I hear you all about wanting to talk about your dolls. That's why I linger around on a couple forums because I don't have anyone in my life that collects BJD's or dolls of any sort and most of my friends and family would just think I was crazy! My boyfriend supports that I like dolls and want to collect them, but he thinks they're creepy and has no interest in hearing me ramble about them! So alas, I am here!

XD I'm getting three MNFs for our first story (my Ryeon, a Miyu, and a boy!Shushu).. the second is far in the future, but it'll involve another two MNFs (a boy!Rheia and Luka). I also am seriously considering/planning a character doll who'd be a MNF Seorin... :3 ...I fell hard. xD I didn't even used to like the MNF sculpts that much, but then I started looking at owner pics and oh god, I'm done, that's it. xD Bury me in heads of Minifees.

Now I get to sit and stare at all of your dolls and be unreasonably upset with USPS for not having updated shipping info on Michiru (my Ryeon) yet. xD

Wow, weird, I was exactly the same way, roserising. o.O I was a Kid Delf fan at first, I loved the adorable big eyes and the soft faces, and I thought the Minifee bodies were nice, but I pretty much had no interest in the face sculpts, I thought they were all weird-looking. Hehe, I think it was probably partly Mendo/Hakari who sold me on Minifees. XD Hehe, I have a ginormous cast list for my photostories, the basics being Fionha, my DES, and then a Seorin, Karsh, VE Woosoo, and a LTF Chiwoo Elf. Then comes a LTF El Elf, a Shushu, an Eliya and another VE Woosoo to replace the LTFs for aging, a Chiwoo, a Rheia, and a Miyu in some random order, and finally a Ruth and a Ryeon. XD Not counting the five KDF sculpts that I'd still kill for.

Argh, everyone who's waiting is jealous of those of us who already have our dolls, and while I LOVE Fionha and would cry if I had to go back to waiting for her, the waiting, especially once they've shipped, is so exciting! I miss it a lot, and those first few days of having your first doll out of the box...I had Fi sitting on my dresser, and whenever I was in my room I kept being pulled back to her to mess with her and just admire her face...I was so starstruck. XD

 

In2themystik2 - I'm waiting to see if they do an event as well. I will just order Shushu if they don't, but I'm hoping they do. They usually do an event head and I'd love t have one On the glass eye note, yes you can request a certain colour even though they say it's random. That doesn't mean you'll get the colour, but it never hurts to ask. I'm gonna ask for a pair of brown eyes since I haven't been able to find a pair I like and Rose Tyler has brown eyes...so I need brown. Hopefully they'll give me some and I won't have to go hunting

zetoast, I think you could do that fine, but you'll have to redo the gloss and remove/reinstall lashes if you do that, but it definitely can be done!

Aine-Rosalie, you did a great job on the faceup and lashes! I hate doing lashes too! two of our dolls here have white glue on their lashes, but I was too frustrated to try to redo them :P

I have another question though, this is for people who have ordered their dolls new (particularly those in the USA):

Did you buy straight from Fairyland or did you go through Denver Doll Emporium? Do you reccomend one over the other? Why or why not? I was thinking maybe shipping would cost less, and possibly be less of a wait if I ordered from Denver Doll since it is in the USA.

Thanks for any help! I'm still anxiously waiting to be able to access the Market Place, only a few more days!

 

I've only ever once bought a doll through DDE.... I've found it's faster, and less of a headache, to buy directly from Fairyland. If your order's $600 or more, you even get free shipping! At the very least, you can surely find someone who's willing to go in with you and do a mini-group order so you can achieve the $600.

 

IngieBee: I know, you wonder off for a little bit and come back to find the thread's exploded. It happens, . Hadn't thought about making the cat bed into a couch, but it would probably work for that, too! Soap opera star? Heh heh, I'm sure Tam's much too weird to be on a soap opera - he's a bit of a chemic and tends to blow things up with his experiments. But he's a sexy chemic!

Nikki: You're really making me want a Rheia for my Wynrith. All these Rheias are absolutely fantastic!

 

I've ordered through DDE once and dont intend to do it ever again. The wait was 13 weeks, they lied to me on several occasions about when my doll was being shipped, and they ordered her wrong. I personally am not a fan of preordering with DDE and only buy from them when they have items in stock. Personally I think you're better off joining a GO and ordering along with that. The wait will be significantly shorter and in a GO shipping isn't terrible either since majority of the time you'll get free shipping from the company and have to just pay from the head of the GO to you.

 

...of course, through DDE there's always the possibility of the Kadepie issue again!

She ordered a Karsh through DDE, and they kept brushing her off for like, ever, while she waited and waited and waited for her doll to come in.

Imagine her surprise when she saw HER doll listed as for sale on their site! *headshake* This was after they told her that the Karsh wasn't in yet, etc. etc.

I find it's a better idea to cut the middle man out of the equation.

 

I measured my Juri's head and it's pretty much an even 7 inches, do you think a 6-7 wig would fit best or a 7-8? I'm leaning towards a 7-8 because I can probably stick a wig cap down. I'm leaning towards mohair, so I can always try to shrink it, or stretch it too.

He really is, spent all of last night pummeling him with images of eyes. I didn't realize the image of just an eye was a bit odd to someone not in the doll hobby.

I always purchase from DDE, because I never seem to be able to find a GO when I want one Also DDE does layaway...

DDE is longer since they order in bulk and it takes FL a while to get it all together and ship it to them, and then they sort it and send it out However shipping (if you're under $600) is significantly cheaper. It really just depends on if you're willing to save the money on shipping and wait longer (possibly a month or two) or go faster. You can always join a FL GO to get free shipping from FL and theoretically it would be faster, but I've never done one so I'm not sure.

 

Actually... There's..3? Ladies that run DDE. They actually go over there and get the dolls themselves, then bring them back to the US, from what I've heard.

 

They place orders every 2-3 weeks and wait for them to be shipped in bulk...that is a bit of a farfetched rumor if you ask me. The likelihood of it is very small as well. The expense to get over there every month or so would just be ridiculous and they'd probably be losing more profit then what they were making.

 

Ah, well. That's just what someone told me~

Edit - Actually, after seeing ALL the replies, I think I will only order directly from FL instead of DDE. I would hate to have to wait even longer or get the run around! *yikes*

 

Do any of you have a Spite and Malice wig for your MNF? If so, what size did you buy for him/her? How does the wig fit?

 

Spindlewood- do you know how to measure circumference for the wigs?
Not all mnfs have the same size head. For example, my miyus head is noticeable bigger than my rheias.

Miyu takes a 7/8 wig, correct? I know her face is a little fuller than some, and thus I think making the head a bit bigger overall.

 

Yes, I buy Abby's wigs at 7-8. The 7-8 wigs I have fit her perfectly.

 

What size does your Rheia wear, Nikki? 6~7 inch? My Rheia's head seems a little small for 7~8 inch wigs... But he doesn't really seem to be able to fit 6~7 inch wigs either. Then again, all I have are LeekeWorld wigs. >////<;
