One of the few sweet Shushu's They usually have a slightly snobbish aloofness to them IMO, which I also love Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have personality come through! IngieBee I can only compare the stringing to my previous Volks dolls. I say Azel arrived from fairyland in a medium setting in terms of stringing. I was sitting @ my desk just trying to do the pose, I got it right in ~ 2-5 minutes of trying.

Funny story on the batteries... See, my little sister took them (now that I have the cord...). My little sister has been "affectionately" nicknamed Gremlin. She breaks things. From a blender to several egg beaters to the bath tub drain So yes, I do have a Gremlin living with me, and yes, she did make off with my batteries

IngieBee: I love those leggings! Maybe pair them with a tunic? That's what I pair with my leggings. Have you tried using already made t-shirt patterns? InuChick's Raglan Shirt Pattern is a good pattern ^^

 

i just tried to get my doc kirill to do something like that yesterday and it was full of epic failure! and he has the "new boy's body 2" or something. it might have been the surface i had him posed on, my pointy eared helpers and the pants? i dunno...i'll try again though!

so i'm kinda excited to get mnf's! i can't wait to actually start learning how to do more poses!

thank you! i guess the shirts are ok, but the pants not so much...which is just insane since i emailed them and they said they used volks & dod as their models. so its kinda strange that the pants/skirts are actually tight. i'm glad i double checked here because i would super sad the outfits wouldn't fit.

i el! he keeps making cameos in my dreams...and i'm so glad they make him in mnf size since i'm not sure i want to venture into sd land. maybe someday. like maybe after a karsh and a vamp woosoo and an eliya and .... its funny how they multiply.

alogue: does your boy body naturally take to leaning to one side like that? Or was it an intentional pose? The boy body I have insists on leaning to his right side, it's a pain in the @$$ most times!

 

IngieBee - Well you've certainly perfected the leggings, they look great! I think a ruffle shirt, or like a really colorful 80's t-shirt, with like some sort of patter and like a neckline that exposes one shoulder would be fun!

 

Ingiebee: Didnt you have a picture of her in a ruffly orangy yellow shirt a few pages back, when you posted her in the red leggings? I could be remembering the colors wrong, but would that match?

 

Thank you so much for the clarification on the Fairyland/Luts story. I guess I have been out of it with my Unoa/Narae/Volks obsession that I do not know much about the other bjds out there. But I really love my Rene-Marie! So as not to "frustrate" dear IngieBee, I will not post a photo today. Instead, a few more questions!!!

How does the Minifee compare to Luts MSD? Quality of paint, resin, seams, posing???

Luts prices are better but that always scares me!

If anyone has both Luts and MiniFee, which one do you like better?

Wish I could get Rene-Marie in SD size still!

Yep, the boy bodies like to lean to the one side. Most of them do DO that. It's just a little thing you have to get used to. I've had this body with me for almost a year now so I've gotten used to fighting with it

 

DanceCat - My Seorin clicks to the side all the time too. It seems the only way I can stop him from doing it is to click him into a forward slump position and then he cant do it.It must be a common problem maybe ???? Hugs Sue X

 

Luts resin is a lot more pale then FL resin. And the resin quality doesn't really differ all that much, they are both really nice. As for seams? MNF tend to have them more prominent then the Luts MSD that I've seen. Unless the luts MSD had theirs sanded off :\...

As for posing, MNF hands down are better at posing then the Kid Delfs. I was able to play with a Kid Delf I had over while working on a faceup and I much prefer MNF posing to Kid Delf.

Dollswest: ooh, ooh pick me! XD; I've got three kid delfs (two "current body", one old style body, and a 4th who's a hybrid)

Luts lowered their prices within the last year. Dont let it scare you ^.~ They just charge differently, though i'm not sure how it works out really.

Its hard to say which i like better....i kinda love them all lots, especially sicne i started with my kid delfs. (My aru was my frist doll, followed by my elf ttori and bory....then i got hooked on FL XD)

lessee, for quality....I've only had experience with luts faceups, so i really can't say on that. I got my aru with the default, and my one mnf who has a company faceup came from luts as well XD; The luts resin is different--its got a similar feel and quality from what i can tell. The kid delfs do come with seams (least, when i got mine two years ago), but the seams arent too visible or annoying...then again, i tend to forget about seams all together. I couldnt tell you which dolls have them and done without looking every time XD

As for posing, its a bit tricky. Minifees have a lot more pieces (a-lines, at least) and the joints are more aestetically accurate, but also pose a lot more realisticly. The kid delf elbow joints are a bit tricky to get poses sometimes, but they can do almost anything minifee arms can do. There are a few angles that look awkward, but its not too bad.

Thing you definilty ahve to remember is that luts kid delfs are "immature minis", so their bodies look more childish.

I can take some comparison pics later if you're interested, just let me know if you're looking for anything in particular. =]

She got two new knitted hoodys and a knit hat from RandiC at the meet! I absolutely LOVE them to bits! They're so well made xD I couldn't decide which color I liked more, the brown or the green, so I ended up getting both

But, they are definitely turning into some of my favorite articles of clothing for my girl

Dollswest: Part of it depends upon what sort of face-up you give for what sort of look you get with your doll, regardless of body-type. I personally prefer Minifee, but my friend's Kid Delf Bory is a beautiful doll and has a nice body and posing too!

Alogue: Cute sweater! Where was the meet-up at? I've never heard of Landenberg (where you live) but I've heard of most of PA... was it in PA? XD

 

It was actually in Mullica Hill, New Jersey There's a meetup there every month. It's generally the same group of people.

Landenberg is on the border of Delaware actually xD I could throw a rock and hit a tree in DE from where I live ;P

they seem to be ok, here's a pic of some shorts and shirt:

the shorts seem loose and big, and the skirt has elastic, so it kinda rides up to her waist, they're both cute, tho! the shirt seems better, but still a little baggier than i like.

Thank you so much Nana, for the pattern link! I'm gonna try that T, or Raglan shirt. But I think I'm gonna try a halter top for these particular leggings. one that matches and makes it look like a jumper. This is because the material just isn't in any way casual. You can't see it, but it's shiny like liquid gold, just too fancy, but was super nice working with. It stayed in place and didn't slip at all. I just have to come up with a halter pattern that's rather fitted but no darts. I think I'm gonna have to make it myself

crimsonbrush, I like your new Nine9 stuff. A little trick on skirts that ride up is to make a little strap that goes from the waistband, between her legs and to the waistband again. Like making it into a rudimentary pair of skorts. Youc an do it with a velcro attachment or snaps, but it keeps the skirt where ya want it

 

Oooo, good tip Ingie! I have a few skirts for the girls that ride up (which I hate) & I'd never thought of that Looks like I'll be doing some altering this week.

I've been eyeballing some Brennil stuff; tank tops, cargos. In the "main" storyline I'm plotting she's very dumpy and doesn't stand out. But I got her a short blonde wig and a purpley-black one from Leekeworld, I might try some Matrix-esque styles with the purple.

K, K, K....just had to pop in and say I ordered some Brennil clothes and I am sooooo super excited!!! will be some of the only "good" MNF girl clothes I have.

Plus I redid Lissa's (WS shushu) faceup today. I am MUCH happier with the eyebrow and eyeshadow placement, but this faceup has some flaws of its own... got a bit heavy on the very last layer of ZM spray, smudged some of the eyelashes during the last sealer coat too - had to do a patchup job, and then got a little heavy-handed with my pearl shine at the end. All got wonky right at the end apparently... but overall I am still waayyyyy happier with it! Pics to follow...

Interestingly enough. I like the wig he has on on my other boy far more! So I'll have to do some fitting and trimming to make it work.
Also have to get Az his own eyes >.> As much as I love the look the silver ones give him he needs a green pair. I need to get him a pair that look like Dov's though or just get them both brand new ones... Suggestions? Possibly glass suggestions?

Side note. Az's head is amazingly loose on the neck piece. I was not expecting that! However, eye putty fixes all.
