thanks! she's the first one i fell in love with too, lol... when i first got into bjds, i didn't look at owner pics at all, and when she arrived, i was not as thrilled as i thought i would be until mendo gave her her current face up. now she's my favorite, and i wouldn't trade her for anything.

Hokey Pete's, I'm gone for a day and a half and there is a new thread already!

emsinnott-Congrats on your beautiful new Juri '08 girl! And a sweet story behind it too. Just one thing though: You're not spaming her enough!! Someday my girl will come home too, I just know it!

I bought on layaway a full-doll Karsh and I am getting a WS MNF body (layaway also) for my 3 heads I have in WS (a DES, a Karsh and Juri '10). I am also waiting on a NS Rheia head. None of them have faceups...I don't know how to do them, but maybe I will get to learn with these ones.

Went to a Doll Show/Meetup and got to see some nice dollies. Played with a Puki Puki (?-a little, but not little little guy) and was amazed at his jointing. I was told that MNF/Fairyland has the best joint system out of BJD's. What do you guys think, think that is true?


april418-who did your DES girl's faceup Please? I think she looks like a sweetheart and I would like my girl to have something like that, but with good coloring for a WS. I know they list the mold as 'Dark Elf' but mine is a young elf, and a kind girl

 

I've got several BJD from different companies. But Fairyland has the most natural posing i would say. Surely there will be some companies that have similar jointing systems, I don't know. No one can have all of them, even if most of us try to find it out.

I asked about the DDE Minifee restock. I wanted to know because I like the benefit of cheaper shipping costs and faster delivery. BTW, I like Serendipity as a name for your Juri '08.

That's Emsinnott's Rheia, the one she sold, but she let me look at her on Saturday since I'd never seen one IRL, so I could maybe decide between her and Luka. I'm MORE confused now, haha! But it's such a beautiful sculpt!

Gothic-Diurnal-Hime, you know you can always just order the doll from DDE as well, the prices are the same as from Fairyland but then your shipping is domestic instead of international when the doll finally arrives, and they do layaway. I don't think their Minifee stock seems to last, especially if they get "stock" dolls of the new stuff. And they explained to me that they might order a bunch of dolls for "stock" but between the day they order and the day the dolls come in, they might get orders for that particular doll (so like, they order 10 PKF Antes on top of what was already being ordered that week, and in the 1-2 months it takes to get them there, they get 10 people ordering PKF antes with no sleeping face plates), so then they send out their "stock" first, rather than putting those orders on a new order, and then they order more "stock" but that again might get ordered before the stock actually comes in. If that makes any sense. XD So it might just be worth it to just order the doll from them. ^_^

Float's eyes came in the mail today! When I opened the package I was worried they were too... dark. I wanted them to match the color of her hair more. But when I put them in they seem pretty perfect. I had to take this picture with the flash on so they are MUCH more vibrant?? than in real life. I can never do her justice with my camera phone. bleh!

Wow! It's been forever since I've posted here! I've just been too burnt-out with school and discouraged with Nadine's damaged faceup and Freya's lack of a body and eyes. But! If all goes well, I might be getting the VE head I've been coveting! We shall see. Hopefully I'll be more active here once I go on my holiday break. Until then, I'll enjoy returning to lurker-status. I love seeing everyone's pics!

 

I like the hoops. I wondered how they would look on a doll. One of my girl's has pierced ears, and I have only tried studded ones so far.
