Minifee MNF Discussion thread Part 14

Hi Jedi! I sure did give her stars! I'll try to get a picture of her up shortly! I was trying to give this Karsh head a Faceup I actually like... I don't think she looks feminine enough in this shot... (she's on the top right) I know eye lashes usually do the trick, but a lot of times a really good faceup is enough on it's own.... Know what I mean?

Emsinnott-your new Karsh girl is very pretty I love those ears and that button-like nose! Yep, know what you mean. Roxy's new face-up is very fresh. And those eyelashes add to it. Do you use human ones cut down or doll ones?

 

Emsinnott, I love the lashes on your Rheia. Where did you get them?

All your girls have very soft realistic looks, maybe she needs something a little edgy.

Oh what horrid luck! That's twice now I wish you speedy MSC funds my dear and hope she stops being so flakey D:
If it makes you feel better (thought I doubt it will) I changed the eyes in my Woosoo on Monday night and I think some of the eye putty got stuck to the eyelashes, so when I pulled it away the eyelashes came with it and with the eyelashes came some MSC and the eyeliner waaaaaaah! So she has a blad patch in her eyeliner/shadow. I am hoping a toothpick and some glue will fix that though, otherwise, it's off for a new faceup!

 

Okay, so I'm a bit late to the party, as usual... But: new thread Juri spam, anyone?

 

elsii: Aww ... wish you luck fixing the face up. I never found MSC in the local stores, so I've always used Tamiya clear flat spray paint to seal face ups, Don't know if that's the right thing to do though.

On a happy note, my MNF Miyu has been shipped today. YAY!!!!

Are our threads getting smaller, or are we just talking more? It seems we got a new thread so quickly! Well, to help christen the new thread, I've been working on the mosaics that people have been doing a while back, and I did one of just my mnfs. Granted, my Chloe vamp and Breakaway don't have faceups yet, and in the center, the two shushus are not mine, but this is my MNF Mosaic.

Halloween is just over a week away and I've got nothing, not even for myself.
Has anyone ever make a mask?

I'm thinking I could wrap my sleeping DES head and papermache right onto it. Then maybe cut out eyes big enough that her eyelashes can go through and not get squashed.

 

Elcia - We have a Halloween meetup on the 29th and I have no idea how I should dress my doll/s (I don't even know which ones will participate), so having same problems as you.

Papermache might work. Oven bake or air dry clay seem to work pretty well from what I've seen people do. My personal favorite is leather for mask making. Cut out a shape, get it wet, let it dry out a tiny bit, pop it on a doll, take it off the doll, apply hairdryer until no longer wet.

Leather and I are friends Makes me want to make some masks for my kiddos.

 

I don't know about clay, but a great lady (she's here on DoA) made a neat tutorial for masks here: Mask Project

Oh! You guys have a great idea! O_O I was trying to think about what to do for a meet costume for Cricket and Crow, and the papermache thing is a great idea! I'm gonna make a pinata pumpkin head for Crow! X3 Cricket might get one too, if I can't finish a luchador mask for him. I'm more worried about Crow's faceup though.

 

i have a meetup coming up next week too, perhaps my dolls will all go as each other. lol i wish i had time to make something...

idk if he's gonna keep this wig. I like it on him, but i'm thinking he needs something shorter, and a different color. not sure what though o_O; i DO know I think i want him to have pink eyes. Or a really pale lavender. Something mildly unsettling XD

btw bought some clothing and shoes for my first Rheia, from various places. if you're interested, might be useful for someone. But veteran mnf owners probably knows better
• Angell Studio shoes fits alright, might be bit big, but fine if wearing socks or pantyhose
• A pair of jeans from Miya BJD nice fits, I got a loose one (not skinny)
• Usagihime wigs size 7-8 fit good. They have stretchy cap.

 

Has anyone tried to mod jointed hands onto a mnf? I figure it would be difficult because of the magnet system on FL, but would be interesting to try...

JediSpice- Thank you! Roxy's eye lashes are actually doll lashes, they're SD sized; each one cut in half is enough for one gal!

Aiushtha- Rheia's Lashes are from Volks! I get the pretty dollfie dream lashes and then split them evenly then match up long vampy lashes (that part is on my Chloe girl Bianca) and the other sweet wispy lashes went on Pumpkin, my Rheia.

BanSidhe modding joined hands would be epic. I will be in awe of anyone who figures out how to do it for the minifees!
I snapped a couple fingers off one hand when Aislinn's body slipped off the coffee table a while back while I was working on a dress. They are tiny! I can't imagine drilling holes in something so small, casting from scratch might be easier.

FayFriend the leather ones are that simple!! I'll have to try that! I was thinking paper because I don't want it to be heavy, I figured clay would be too bulky. I think I'll try my idea tomorrow and let you all know how it turns out.

Immare I at least do't have a deadline other, but I've seen threads about Halloween outfits and thought my hardly has a decent outfit much less costumes!!
Also your Illya did you tan her yourself? I'm planning on holding out on getting a Ruth till FL decides to make the lovely shade they made for the Egyptian Chiclines available for Minifees. But I was wondering about it anyway.

I.. I think I've fallen for Shushu. Dug through the gallery thread over the weekend while looking for a sister to Samantha... and little Shusu seems to have captured my heart. Would love to see any blue-eyed Shushu spam, please!!

hey guys! umm...anybody can tell me some good fur wig makers?

 

bansidhe - I don't think I've ever seen anyone put jointed hands on a minifee, but I would think that it'd be likely that they wouldn't fit very well/look the proper size considering how small minifees are compared to a lot of other minis.
I've seen the dika hands on dollzone minis and thought they looked like they fit pretty well, and they are a good couple cm taller than minifees.

on another note I finally ordered my ryeon ;3;
I've been planning to re-doll my dollzone aimi Lena for ages now and finally felt like I had enough saved to go ahead and put her on layaway.

 

I think I HAVE seen someone put jointed hands on a MNF; it'd take me forever to find the thread or photo! As I recall, it was on a boy MNF, and the resin was close, but the size was off! The person used little arm cuff/warmers to hid the wrist area, but it was still kinda odd.... Not sure of specifics though. I had some for a Feeple I used to own and I thought I'd love them, but they were bulky and finicky and I missed the esthetic of her original hands

so I know it's blurry but I LOVE this wig and wish I knew where more like it could be found! It's super long and it's soooo silky soft... I bought it off the MP and wish I could have one in red! (Pumpkin is bummed; she loves being blonde but is dying to go to her natural red/auburn)

Late to this party.. Sizer will be the Chloe that came in July. I was finally able to snag a faceup slot for her.
Aaand... How did I not know you got a Miyu?? She's crazy adorable and I've clearly been away from the forum for way too long...

 

I have heard nothing but good things about both 1mim and Tinybear here on DoA as far as fur wigs go. ^_^

Also, all the Rheia spam is making me super sad I opted for a LTF Rolly instead of ordering my first MNF during this event. I can't wait till I've got some disposable income again so I can get my Rheia and Mirwen sisters. Also, can't WAIT to see Mirwen owner pics, huzzah!

First try doing this on my iPad, not sure if it will work... Blue-eyed Shushu spam....it is old, but shows the "Dune-esque" eyes she had in for a while.

auntbear aren't 1mim's wigs just the cutest? I adore the one I have on my Pukifee... If it wasn't for the Length that Mohair tends to max out at, I'd get a Mohair for Myca... but she has insanely long hair.. *3* I feel the urge to go snuggle and pet Willow's head now... XD
