Here's Amy wearing the wig I originally wanted for her. She's been wearing the Monique one 'cause 1. I love it and 2. this wig has been on order since just after I realized I was getting her (I just got it yesterday) Anywaaaaayyyy - I like it well enough (though it was a terror to style, the long bangs did nothing but hang down in her face) and would probably have given it to her but ... I'm gonna reshell Amy as soon as they release the info on the new FL girl (no, I'm not selling MNF Rhiea) and I'm getting a Karsh girl head in that this wig should be perfect for so, until I get new Amy, old Amy will continue to wear the Monique wig - it's just 'HER'. Enough blabber, here's the pic:

honestly, I've wanted to go to one of them but taking the train all the way in there is SUCH a bother

 

man oh man...8( guys I need help. really.

okay I was playing with my mnf luka girl and shushu. let's just say that when I held my luka (Which is currently faceupless) I felt that odd connection. you know, the FEELING that you know she'd just perfect for your character.) then I look at my shushu, who is freaking gorgeous..! but just doesn't pull that spark on me like luka did.

shushu was supposed to be the character my luka is, but after already being halfway through the laway with shushu, I noticed luka had to be my character. so I decided to give shushu a try to be my beloved dee. I do like her alot as my dee, but something just doesn't see "DEEEE"to me...ugh I dunno.


so tell me guys, what to do? I was thinking a wig change and such maybe. =_=

Just a friendly warning: you may want to be careful with asking stuff like this - it's the kinda post moderators will delete 'cause it comes close to discussing sales. I wish I could be more help - my suggestion is to put the Shushu away for a bit and see how you feel afterward (maybe a week?) if you still feel no attachment, you'll know what to do

 

Asking on advise on what you do if a doll doesn't fit a character is not too bad, but if you talk too much about selling her it can be bad. I think it is OK to say because of how you feel.

Any way, if you like your Shushu any way maybe keep her and make her a new character?

Kokoro-Chan: I agree with karla-chan, why not make the Shushu a new character?

 

Kokoro-Chan, take all the things that you used to make Shushu into your Dee, eyes and wigs and whatnot, and set them aside.

...if you have any spare eyes and wigs, let her try them on. With luck, she'll tell you who she REALLY is now that she's done holding Dee's place until she got home.

And, of course, you should spam us with all the different looks. (duh)

 

I think that is what i would do personally. I don't think i would ever have the heart to sell a doll! I have fallen in love with every doll i have brought home. I have had things where i am like they are not 100% that character, but it didn't matter to me.

But if you want a new doll to be that character it would be a shame to get rid of her. Unless you really didn't want her any more. I could also be saying that because i have a soft spot for Shushu's!

Mer, my grandmother (who lives halfway across the country) came for her yearly visit today. I showed her Gavin (my Karsh.) as the money she gave me last year went into my doll fund...and she just kept calling him "a little freak" because of his elf ears...one of my favorite features. D:

Hi all! I have a quick question... my first Fairyland mnf (Rheia) just arrived this week, and for lack of a better word, one of her legs seems 'kicky'. Is there a trick to getting them to stand? It seems like either her right leg kicks back or her whole body topples forward when I try to stand her. Does this mean she is strung too tight? Sorry if I missing the answer to this posted elsewhere... I appreciate any insight!

I have thought about going to one and yet and not exactly sure I actually want to go to one.
I want to see dolls in person but to go into the city, and meet a horde of strangers many of whom already know each other.... I don't know if it's worth the cost to go.



SharinganBlossom I feel your frustration. I was worried what my mother's reaction would be to Aislinn and her little elf ears because show her any given page full of dolls and she'll say 75% of them are freaky.
If there is a high number of fantasy dolls in the mix that percentage is sure to go up to 90%. And it's exactly the elf ears or other amazingly sculpted fantasy components that make such dolls so great.

 

Awww, I have to admit, I wasn't sold on elf ears when I very first started loving this hobby (gosh, what, about 10 or more years ago) but when I got my VE Chloe with her elf ears, I just fell in love! They're so cute and magical at the same time!!! I guess I'm lucky my husband loves fantasy too, he's never mentioned Gwenevere's ears! I love them!!!!

 

I thought elf ears were totally weird on dolls too, until I saw some Fairyland dolls. They're so wonderful! I think it just threw me mostly because even though she and I have never really gotten along, she is a hobbyist and creative person. So having her insult my hobby of choice was just like "...what?"

I want a VE Chloe so bad! It'd be like...my grail doll to have one. @3@

 

I feel BLESSED to have my VE Chloe! I didn't realize how much I totally loved her until her I risked it all and opened her eyes! (I sound so dramatic! LOL!) And I know what you mean about feeling like that when she said that about the ears!

 

Karsh screams Link!! I say go with it!! (I wanna see pics when he's complete.) I love Legend of Zelda and can't find any good MNF cosplay of Link (or Midna for that matter too). I'm looking forward to seeing him!!
