Hello! For a long time I have been working on my mini bjd. She is almost done, now she is about 18,5cm. - polymer clay - head: 3cm - changeable faceplate - changeable eyes - double joints These photos are a little old. I changed her knees (they were too squared). Hands, feet and some other parts are to be remodeled/corrected. Wig is handmade by me
Miss_Pygmalion, this is not smooth enough, it only looks smooth She still needs to be primed and sanded, but thank you (I work in gloves) Morgan, thank you In hand )
I find her very very very beautiful. The only thing I don't like that much, is her joints on knees... I find them too "square"like. What do you think of round them when you bend the knee?
Poochbot, thank you Le Tama, thank you! And like I said earlier, knees were changed (since they really were too square) )
Woups sorry blueberry-doll! I didn't read that you already changed knees XD. I would love to have one :p
she is GORGEOUS! I'd love one too, it is so rare to find realistic mature BJDs in this scale-- she could keep mine company. And what an amazingly tiny wig. Will you show us her new knees?
I saw your photos on flickr also and I was astounded by your doll - she is so nicely formed and delicate. I can't wait to see more of her )
Le Tama glimmer sailor, aneemal, thank you! I'll add more pictures as soon as I'll sand her more. I'm trying to make the peanuts more round but with this size it is hard to make it perfect and with walls thick enough. I'm planning to cast her in resin so it is important Recently I bought steel wool (0000) and it is an awesome thing! Much better than the sanding paper (for nose/mouth areas) D
Oh wow, she's beautiful! I especially love her hip/thigh joints, they look really smooth, and functional as well~ Very well done!
Morgan, Eldurwen, thank you! glimmer, thank you! And Here is good tutorial, you don't even have to understand Russian http://ilinadolls.livejournal.com/4140.html
Thank you for the link its seems amazingly helpful for making hands. ( :XD although the loos fingers look a bit creepy hahah)
clarinetplayer, mainly ProSculpt light. The details stay the way I sculpt them and this is the most important thing for me (I can't tell the same about fimo puppen, even though fimo is very strong). Also I used leftovers of the mix ProSculpt+White Bozzi clay (I used it for more translucent skin of my stationary fairies, also Bozzi gave strength). I recommend working in vinyl gloves, which doesn't suck out the oil of the clay (unfortunately, latex do that), surface is very clean and smooth thanks to gloves )
She really is amazing - such a lovely form on such a small scale. And she poses beautifully! I'm totally in awe! )
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm very happy, that you like her and don't mind spam :XD Two more pictures with handmade wig (took those pictures after turning off computer already ))
Thank you! Miss_Pygmalion, I use tassels/fringes for wigs. Unfortunately, I can't find the right one anywhere but in my country. It looks like this: http://www.ornatio-design.pl/fredzle/frdzle-tradycyjne/pp-60c-frdzle When you comb it long enough it becomes soft yet not puffy. (but when you play too long with it and it becomes fluffy, you can just comb it with a bit of water and it is perfect again ) ) I like those tassels/fringes because it is thiner than Tibetan lamb wool New knees and high heels:
She is absolutely stunning! I´m amazed, how realistic she looks, I love all about her. The body is perfect, realistic and very natural posing and the face really beautiful, delicate... I can´t wait to see her with faceup!
she's so beautiful! I hope you don't mind that I keep staring at her, looking for how to make the anatomy on my doll more realistic, it's amazing how lifelike you made her! Also, how did you make the wig? Especially the top, I can't seen any visible wefts! It's fantastic
I can't get enough of her! Thanks for the tip about using tassel fringing for the wig! It looks so realistic - would never have guessed! Looking forward to more photos
Thank you! OdooriKimura, about the wig... unfortunately, I have no idea, how to describe how I made the top ^_^' I hope I'll make tutorial one day. It's raining all the time, but finally, I was able to prime some parts
thank you, and I look forward to that tutorial~ also wow! She already looked so professional before priming, but now! Holy crap she's amazing!
OdooriKimura, thank you I couldn't wait to prime her already! Now I can see all the details in new, fresh way (and mistakes too haha :dead)
oh my gosh shes gorgeous, shes so detailed for something so tiny youve really done wonders with sanding her
Thank you so much guys! Finally! Mini BJD is finished. Next week she is going to factory. I hope to see her in resin as soon as possibly (in other words, I can't wait patiently :XD) Measurement: head to feet - 18,2cm head to high heels - 19,1cm chest - 8cm waist - 6cm hip - 9cm shoulder (width) - 2,5cm shoulder to feet - 15cm leg (with feet) - 10cm arm (to wrist) - 5cm foot (lenght) - 2,2cm foot (width) - 1cm torso - 5cm head - 7cm neck - 3,5cm
