[Adopted] Migidoll General Discussion - Part II

Does anyone know if the current NS skin is suitable to the Luts Real normal skin or AOD normal pink/yellow?
And Migidoll WS suitable to Luts WS or AoD WS?

 

Is that the Ryu chienism just painted DawnDusk? He's soo pretty.

 

Important question: Does a Migidoll head fit on the Doll-Family A (or H) 60 cm body in Normal Pink? And how is the fit and resin match with a Dikadoll body (61 or 64cm)?

I want to buy a Migidoll Miho head in the future but I am looking for rather slim, skinny and non muscular bodies, who still have a good posing abillitiy and those two (DF and Dikadoll) caught my attention. I can live, if the resin match isn't 100% perfect but I want the head to fit and look good proportion-wise ^^

 

OK, i feel like people have been waiting forever to hear about the match with LittleMonica XD I just got a 2011 LM B Type Boy Body off the marketplace and it is definately a match with my 2011 Jina! I still need to assemble the body and put a head on it so I can't go into detail and I'm not sure if there is a slight difference, but so far from the quick comparision I did they match very well. I'll also get some photos with my Cho head to see if the match is any different. My Ryu is out of the question though since he has yellowed XD

 

Hooray for LM being a match! I'm still planning to get the A type body for my Ryu... so that's encouraging.

Hello! Um, possibly random question, but I'm looking into getting a Migidoll Jina, and because I'm terrified of resin nonmatches, I wanted to get the Migidoll body. Only.. nobody seems to have it? I can't find much info! And what I did find seemed somewhat contradictory, so...

How is the posing on the Migidoll body? I love the look of it, so really the only sticking point is making sure the posing is good :3

Ah, I actually did read those comments! But they didn't feel especially.. definitive, to me? idk.. I just want to know if the body poses well, which it seems to.. I'm sorry if I'm being kind of an idiot, ha.

I'll probably get him on that body and just pray, lol. I'm really anxious about hybrids, so I prefer not to go with another company unless I have to... anyway, the Migidoll body can't be a worse poser than my Crobidoll M-line or my Luts SDF boys... *facepalm*

 

I used to own an SDF and I'd say that the Migi body can hold a pose better. The ratcheting shoulder joint is the only really weird bit of engineering.

 

Oh, awesome. Thank you! My SDF boy doesn't pose well at all, I'd be crushed if I got another doll that couldn't pose xX; I mean, the posing doesn't have to be on par with my Souldoll Soul-Double girl (though it'd be nice!), but I love posing my dolls and if they can't even stand up (*cough*Crobidoll*cough*), it upsets me a lot and really limits my photography options. I'm so glad the Migidoll body is a decent/good? poser!

 

Oh, I've wanted to get a Ryeong for the longest time! He resembles one of my favorite celebrities. He's special, too, because it seems like there aren't many people out there that own him, so he's an uncommon sculpt I suppose~

 

Without any sueding or wiring or anything, I'd say the Migidoll body is a decent poser (and I only say that because it's the only one I've experienced)... Though I cheated a little, I put Dikadoll jointed hands on him which makes it easier for him to lean on his hands and cross his arms 'cause they're not so bulky.







v His legs don't cross very easily and he leans back too much so I put his arms back for support or he'd fall.




v I pretty much always keep his torso bent like this when sitting, otherwise he's leaning back too much.

^ A pose like this is tricky 'cause his elbows like to buckle under the weight, and with the original hands it probably wouldn't work because they don't bend back that far.

I didn't do the knees to the chest pose because the only way to achieve that is to pull his legs out of the hip socket (and with jeans on, they'd have to be unbuttoned and his bum hanging out the back). Hope this is helpful to anyone considering getting this body.

Can anyone explain the difference between the Migidoll shoulder joint and other dolls? What exactly does "ratcheting" mean? Thanks!!

 

keepithushhush, the resin match is pretty close. The Dikadoll hands are a tad darker and pinker than Migidoll.

Etreya, are those hands the Dikadoll yellow skin or pink skin? :3 I just ordered my Jina boy last night and would love to get him some jointed hands.

 

The shoulder, rather than being a smooth rounded ball in the socket, has a series of teeth (similar to some doll's knee locks) that lock the arm into a particular position. It's somewhat disconcerting if you are used to smooth action in your doll's joints, but it does mean that he can hold his arms out from the body at several different angles without having to use hot glue sueding or silicone washers.

 

roserising, those Dikadoll hands are normal-pink. Sorry I forgot to mention that, I have edited the picture above to include resin color.

I have a semi-stupid question considering I own a Migi Ryu head, but... when I took his face up off last night, it felt like his face was unnaturally rough. I thought it was just some MSC that I missed, but I'm not having any luck getting it off, no matter how I scrub. I don't have a body for him, and I can't remember what he felt like when I first got him, but lately I've been handling some dolls with really smooth, kind of silky feeling resin, so I don't know if I'm just not used to how he's supposed to feel or what. His head cap feels really smooth... and I feel like that's how his face should feel.

I was wondering how you guys would describe Migi resin? Is it smooth? Or is it a little more... textured (like how an Iple doll might feel)? I don't know how to describe what I'm trying to say, so hopefully that makes sense.

Just trying to solve the conundrum... I'm a bit baffled as to what's going on. I don't remember having this issue the last time I removed his face up.

 

I was wondering if anybody knows the best-fitting neck circumference for a Jina head? I've been looking at a body with a 9.7cm neck and I was wondering if this will fit okay or if it might need modding. I find the idea of having my first doll sanded down kind of terrifying, and was hoping it wouldn't be necessary. What size neck do people have their Jinas on?

 

I have a question about registering at the Migi site... I typed everything correctly in but the site doesn't accept my postal code :/ Anyone knows what do?

Edit: stupid me forgot to place the letter for my country. It's fixed now.

Btw: I am still searching for skinny bodys who fit to a migidoll miho head and would still ike to see some migidoll heads on a doll family or dikadoll body.
I also would like to know if the migidoll body itself is musculous. Or is it rather slim?

ElizabethX - I've also been thinking of which body would be best for the Jina girl I'm planning.. You probably won't have to sand the neck though. Look at Arckaya's Jina who's on a Supia body (which, according to their site has a 9.4 neck) I don't think she looks bobbleheaded at all... Then again I've heard the Jina head is too big for the Supia body, so pay no attention to me.

ChronicallySpaced - Interesting question, I bought a Miho from this lady and I received him today.. Well, the wrong head (I received a blank Yujin) then, later I decided to take comparison pictures with my blank Cho, because I was bored... When I was handling both heads I also wondered the same thing as you. My Cho's resin is smooth while the Yujin felt a bit rough.. Maybe it varies by year? I don't know.

 

I might be posting like a total fool here but I was wondering if anyone knew when Migi would be opening up orders again? Is there a set order schedule?

Sorry guys, I've been reading back through trying to make sense of why everything's sold out and I can't tell if they're still backlogged, if it's due to Migi's pregnancy or if it's an order schedule thing xD.

 

Akudem: From what I can gather, they opened up limited ordering due to the pregnancy, as they would not be able to make so many dolls and didn't want to get backlogged, etc.

On the Q&A portion of their site, someone asked about ordering and they indicated that they had not yet set a date for the next order period, but they were hoping to do another late in February or sometime around then - presumably once the recent order period's dolls are done and shipped.

I think you must be right. It's really weird...

I finally got over the whole "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR HEAD?" thing and did a new face up on him. It's only my 2nd complete face up, but I'm really happy with it. I think it suits his character.

I have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer!

Ryu is my absolute dream boy for a special character I have. But he sort of goes with a girl I've already got, a Volks Kun. Does anyone happen to have any pics of those two dolls together, or even any Ryu or similar sculpt from Migidoll with a Volks girl? Are their heads proportioned or do they look weird together, I guess is what I am hoping to find out!!

Thank you ChronicallySpaced! I did West's new/retouched faceup today and I'm still deciding if the eyebrows are right, he just looks a bit...different! But will leave it until tomorrow and look at him again in the daytime.

Oh noooo I discovered a tiny chip in his lower eyelid! It is so tiny it looks like a paint dot the size of a pinpoint but its still there. Do you think its ok if I just leave it and be extra-careful, or should I try to sand it down?

 

I have a Ryu head floating around which I bought originally because i LOVED the sculpt and also to try faceups on. But now I'm considering getting him a body....unfortunately I have a tight budget and its between the AOD body (I've heard the resin match is pretty good) and a Little Monica body which is gorgeous but more expensive...suggestions, anyone?

 

Infinityxoxo - It depends, is poseability important to you? My Cho's on a LM body and it doesn't really do extreme poses... And the hands are yucky! Haha. I still prefer it over the Nobilitydoll body my other guy was on.

Hmm. Is the chip really obvious? If you don't think it will bother you, I'd leave it alone. But if it's pretty noticeable, you could probably sand it really carefully with a really fine grain of sandpaper.... is it enough it would significantly alter the way his eye looks?

So many Jinas will be ordered! I ordered mine as soon as the MD site had heads available. I'd stalk it everyday...Haha.

 

I have my Jina on an Fdoll body in normal resin. I really like it, its not too muscular and it poses beautifully. The resin match is pretty good too. Some people dislike its nipples of doom though
I must say the Little Monica body is really gorgeous though!

ChronicallySpaced Thank you for the advice about the chip. Its really tiny and you can hardly notice it so I think I will leave it. These boys are really finely sculpted around the eye region so you have to be so gentle with them. It must have happened while I was cleaning him. Anyways the first attempt at his new faceup came out really badly so I had to redo it. Now I just have to wait for the eyelash glue to dry. It is taking forever! This hobby really forces one to learn patience! I will definitely put up some spam (If it comes out ok!)

 

I'm still debating weather to buy just the head or the full doll! I don't think I'll have enough money to get him in full but I hope I will soon

 

HarleyQuinnBJD I guess it depends on whether the body is what you have in mind for him? I think the Migidoll body is very beautiful but I wanted my boy to be more feminine with minimal muscle definition. If the body is just right for you then I think saving up is a good idea, it spares you the hassle of trying to decide what body to get and what resin matches.

Yay I finished West's faceup! I have also ordered him some glass eyes
His wig is irritating me though, it keeps sticking up at the back! Now he wants a new one, he is so demanding.

 

West looks amazing. I can never get enough of Migi boys...

Here's another picture (I owned the more muscular DF body) The match wasn't that great as you can see. I think the body was made in 2011 while the head is from 2010.

The Migidoll body looks slim to me, then again I've never owned one so pay no attention to me :P

I asked migi a while back if she was planning on releasing a female body any time soon, and she said it would probably happen sometime this year, has anyone else asked about this besides me?

Also, I own the migidoll body. It's a little slim, but I like to describe it as more gangly, but in a good way. My Ryu, Ian, is a gamer so gangly suits him. ^ - ^

I had an old, large-bust elfdoll body from I think 2007 which I no longer own, and it was a PERFECT match with Ian, though I never actually put him on that body, god he'd've been so pissed at me.... But that would probably only work with girls since I'm not sure if elfdoll sold male bodies in regular NS in 2007, just homme skin...

I've got my Migidoll Miho head on Monday. No Box Opening though until he gets his own body. (poor guy... or head)

I don't know how to describe it, but the current batch has some kind of yellow tone. At first I thought it was more pink (maybe due to the fact it was evening). But in daylight he appears quite yellow.

I was going to make a comment about the skintone (actually my Ryu looked a lot yellower than I expected him to when he arrived last year ^^), but I've just been distracted by the blank Miho head. XD I want one so bad! Every time I see a blank Miho, I just start thinking about the face up I'd want to do on it, and all this stuff... XD

No idea when I'll be getting one of my own... but I can't help drooling over the sculpt regardless. >_>;

 

Glad to find this thread - I might be asking a lot of questions soon, since I just snatched a Migidoll Jina boy on a popodoll 68cm body yesterday and he will be my very first leap into the SD's! I am excited and nervous!
