Haven't seen a thread yet for her so thought I'd make one. I've just ordered a chocolate milkshake mousse without face up, anyone else looking forward to receiving there little one?
Hey! Not ordered one, but will be ordering an Ada when she is released (same body, the other head :P) I am in love with their tiny little bodies >.< I have already ordered clothes for her xD
Oh I'm so tempted by Ada aswell, such lovely little dolls and I feel there's quite a lot of clothing choice with their size even more so then my unoa potentially
Definitely! I loooove all the Blythe and Azone clothes, I've always eyed it up, but never had a doll for them! I actually already bought a few pieces for Ada. Oops! The price though >.< I think wigs that look in proportion to her little head will be hard, because I feel the pukipuki have different features and the wigs might be too bulky. Have you got any pieces together for Mousse?
Same here with the clothing, so many things I'm excited to be able to buy now. On wigs I mostly make my own alpaca so luckily I've not got to much to worry about in that regard but can understand how that might be quite a hard one as she is so very delicate. Nothing ready yet apart from having my alpaca but that needs lots if work dying and what not. Have you thought much about eyes? I have to say that's the only thing I find a little bit worrying not sure on many companies that do really nice4mm eyes hmmm.
Ooo I keep thinking I need to learn how to make wigs. I love wigs so much xD It'll be a super handy talent for Mousses' tiny head :P I hope Ada stays sleeping head so I don't have to buy tiny tiny eyes! I don't know of anyone that does eyes that small, but I've never really looked! Did you order with a face-up? Maybe she will come with at least one set of eyes?
I bought the Chocolate Milk Mousse from the sale, she arrived the 13th and she's the cutest thing ever. I'm still trying to decide which hair colour suits her best, and about the eyes, I'm planning to buy them through etsy, there are some people there that sells eyes that small. I don't know if the dolls of the preorder will come with eyes, but mine didn't. She's my first tan colour skin doll and I'm so happy I got her in that colour, it's amazing! *______* I love Ada as well, although I'm the opposite of Kamia, and I hope she doesn't stay a sleeping head, but if she does, better for my savings haha
Gynure congrats on your Mousse! Please share pictures with us! Did she come with a face-up, or blank? I think she would only come with eyes if she had a face-up. Haha, maybe two versions, a sleeping and non? Although then I'd need both >.> Btw, does Mousse have a face-plate with headback or a more traditional head? (Does this question make sense?? I couldn't think of the right words). Also just noticed all three of us are from the UK, haha we should have a meet up of tiny Merry Doll Round girls one day :P
She came blank! I actually didn't know that Jin was going to offer the make up for the preorder (maybe I would have waited then, I don't know). I'm not sure about the eyes, a lot of companies include the eyes even if they come blank, that's the reason why I thought that probably none will come with them, but I'm not sure. Two versions would be awesome! But I think she mentioned somewhere that initially she thought about Mousse with open eyes and Ada sleeping, so I'm pretty sure she will be a sleeping one. Mousse has a traditional head with the back cover, here a picture of mine the day she arrived where I think you can clearly see it (no eyes or anything but oh well!): I was surprised by how well she poses, I manage to get her on one foot even! Oh, and by the way, what it does come with her it's the heels (the interchangeable feet with heels)!
Oh wow gynure she's so lovely! I'm really glad I we to with the milkshake skin now, I debating to to because of the extra price but it looks so very worth it. I didn't go for make up thought I'd have fun making my self blind trying to paint her teeny tiny head haha. I'm hoping they might by some slim chance include eyes this time but if not I have seen a few places on eBay and etsy so there is hope yet can't wait to see more of little mousse it's really exciting even seeing her blank.
Omg omg, Gynure she is SO CUTE. Maybe I need a Mousse AND Ada now... haha, just as well I'm too late for this time :P That colour IS stunning. And kyliebee I totally agree, it is so cool to see pics, even blank. Also, her posing sounds amazing! I really can't wait for more updates on Ada either... Do you know when you expect your girl Kyliebee?
Oh my gosh, she is GORGEOUS!!! I am so upset I just recently discovered this BJD company! I asked a question on Merry Doll Round's instagram and she answered that there will be another preorder for her
I'm waiting on a Mousse in Vanilla. I ALMOST got Chocolate but decided I was already being irresponsible enough even ordering her D: haha. Maybe I'll get the next girl in this size in Chocolate if she's offered in that skin tone.
Looks like they're shipping this week! How exciting, hope everyone's looking forward to their little mousses
Yes I'm so excited! But...I'm having trouble finding 4mm eyes for Mousse!? I had some picked out from DreamingTreeStudio on etsy but they sold before I could order and from what I understand, she doesn't produce any eyes during December and January so I think I left it too late :/ Has anyone else found another source for such tiny eyes?
Sadly I'm having the same problem and if I do find some they don't seem very good quality at all. Bit unsure what to do at the moment.
Ah, oh no :/ I've only been able to find some of the "glass on a wire" kind which don't look that great but I really don't want her to be eyeless for months! No idea how to make eyes but maybe I will try... Edit: I just sent Nuria/Merry Doll Round an email to ask where she got her eyes from
Oh please let us no what she replies that would be fantastic to know, thank you for mailing her I'd hate for her to be eyeless to.
I haven't heard back from her yet but I just saw that DreamingTreeStudio has added a lot of 4mm eyes back to her etsy! I just got a couple pairs, feeling relieved!
I got my eyes from Dreaming Tree Studios yesterday I got two pairs of 4mm and a pair of 3mm just in case because I find I often like eyes smaller than the recommended. She threw in a free pair of 3mm with my order which was very sweet, so now I have lots of options. That said, OH MY the eyes are so tiny. Like... I can't even fathom how I'm going to get them in the wee little thing's head. I paid my Strawberry Mousse off on Sunday night and even though Nuria said she wasn't going to start shipping until the 6th I've been obsessively checking for a shipping notice - something I haven't done in a long time! I'm happy this little lady has made me so excited about dolls again!
Paid my mousse Sunday too, so very excited now to receive her and curious how dark the chocolate colour will be in real life.
Has anyone gotten a shipping notice yet? I'm just scared these little beauties are going to get stuck in the heaviest Christmas mail.
So I adopted two mousse dolls, and I'm wondering how on earth do I place eyes in these tinies?? If someone could instruct me or provide some ideas that would be great!
Got my shipping notice as well. Ordered and received her a wig but looking forward to being able to order her eyes!!
My Mousse has arrived at the local post office, unfortunately I won't be able to pick her up before tomorrow~ Still stoked tho, I didn't receive a shipping notice so I assumed she hadn't been sent out yet, so this is a pleasant surprise~
You've probably got it by now but what I did was place the eye on the middle of a little mound of putty, and press that in to the eye well. Then to adjust/reposition I sort of poke at the putty with the end of a pencil/other long thing which moves the eyes a tiny bit. But yeah my girl with faceup arrived! I am totally in love with her, she poses like a dream and is just so adorable! mousse by petitemarine, on Flickr
@petitemarine She is absolutely adorable, and that dress is beautiful. I'm still waiting for the eyes for my Mousse, and hopefully I'll be able to make a wig for her soon. She is so tiny, so I'm scared of messing up by using too much hair or too thick wig-wefts >. >
My girl arrived today!! Didn't give her a proper faceup yet ( just put a tiny bit of chalk on her for color) and I have no eyes. She is soooooo tiny!! I don't think I would ever find an eye that small if I dropped one. I put some things in the picture for size reference. The eye is a 16mm by her foot!
Where did you guys find your wigs?! They're lovely looking and I can't seem to find any. Thank you by the way for the tips on how to place the eyes.
I haven't looked for a wig yet. Most of the people with Mousse I've seen so far have made their own wigs. That's my plan too but finding something commercially available would be nice.
Gynure, your doll is SO pretty...............and the skin tone is just amazing! I just found the doll and the artist, and it seems, that all the Mousse dolls are sold out already....... I really hope, that there will be another release of them, because I want to get one! I just never even heard about the doll, until two days ago, sadly. Congrats to your beautiful little doll! petitemarine, I really like the way you styled your doll! Cute dress and the boots are adorable!
@Tiffany thank you very much! I'm glad you like my girl! The Mousse dolls are sold out because she always works in preorder style, it's rare for her to have stock dolls (although sometimes she puts some for sale when there are some left from preorders or events, that's how I got mine in fact). But she's not a limited doll so I'm pretty sure there will be some other preorders at some point although if I go by the calendar in her website I think the next one for Mousse will be in cookie skin in July and not in chocolate milk, but that colour is amazing, it's tempting even for me just because I love the sculpt and that skin colour hahahaha But I MUST resist!!! I thought I had posted in here more pictures of my girl, but I just saw that I didn't. Here is one of the most recent pictures I took in an forest full of bluebells. Bluebells by ☁ Min Mint ☁, on Flickr I'm hoping that Nuria releases some other dolls in this size with different head sculpts, I would love for my Mousse to have some company.
@Gynure, Thanks SO MUCH for telling me about the preorder in July! I didn't even know, and I am determined not to miss it again! I just have to get a Mousse; she is so cute! I really like you picture too. The outfit is adorable, and I like the bag she has! What size wig does she wear? Did you make the wig your doll wears in the picture yourself? I like the color and the braids look really nice. I saw some pictures on Nuria's Flickr with dolls in the cookie skin, and I really like that skin tone too. If I could, I would get one in each skin tone.......... I am really happy that I found Nuria's dolls, it's just sad that I missed the release of Mousse in chocolate skin. There is a message on her Flickr account, stating that she will open preorders in September 2016, but I don't think it will be a release for Mousse. So I have to keep an eye out in July! I am already trying to find Azone clothes that might fit her, because when I finally get one, I want to be ready, and have clothes, wigs, etc. for her! Thanks again so much, for telling me about Mousse being released in July, and for the picture!
@Tiffany Keep in mind that I'm not 100% sure as I just checked the calendar on her website but she hasn't mentioned it yet! So I guess her plans could change or something, but I'm pretty sure that if not at that point she will do one at some point for sure, as I said she has said multiple times that her dolls are not limited. Thank you for your kind words! It's quite difficult with the wig size. She technically wears size 3-4 inch, but I know quite a few people that has had problems of that size being still too big. I think that a good size is 3 inches, and I haven't tried 2-3 inches wigs but I wonder if they might fit tight but still ok.The wig in my picture is indeed made by me with alpaca hair! It's not dyed fibre, it has the original colour of alpaca hair. Yes! I completely understand you, I feel so tempted to get one in cookie skin too just because they're so perfect! hahaha But as I said there could be in the future another preorder for dolls in chocolate milk, maybe later after doing one in cookie skin, I don't know. I'm not sure about the preorders in September, as in the calendar it appears the cookie skin Mousse for July, I don't know if she decided to start earlier with the preorders or if the july thing is something different and the preorder for cookie skin would actually start in September. You can always send her a message and ask just to be sure, because as I say I got the information on the calendar thing she has on the new website but there hasn't been any other information around about it. What it says in the calendar thing is "Cookie Skin Mousse release", so it could be just the announcement of a future preorder, or the information about the preorder starting very soon after or something else.
I personally STILL can't wait for Ada... her face is so sweet. It's the only reason I didn't get a Mousse - because I'm waiting for little Ada :P I think she will be in cookie too
@Gynure, Thanks so much for telling me about the wigs! I never had a wig in such a small size, just like I never had such a small doll before...............it will be an adventure, for me, just to gather all the clothes, shoes, etc. she will need! I send a message to Nuria yesterday, and she answered me this afternoon. There will be a limited release of Mousse dolls in cookie skin this coming June. But she will only have a few available, some with and some without face up. I am totally exicted about that! I have to keep an eye out for her announcement on FLickr and her site, etc. because I really don't want to miss it. She thinks, they will go fast, since she only will have a few dolls available and ready to ship. But she still wants to try to release some more dolls in September also. The wig you made for your doll is so pretty, really. I love it. I never made a wig before, but I might try, to get a nice wig like yours, for my doll. I had considered trying it before, because I don't like many of the wigs that are commercially made. I think, that a lot of the wigs, that people made, look much more realistic. I like the outfits that you got for your doll too. I found you on FLickr, and I saw the pictures you have of your doll in her little outfits. I like the style in which you dress her, and I hope, to find some clothes like that for my doll. I will get the cookie skin in June, and then possibly the chocolate milk whenever it will be available. Thanks again so much, for all the information!
I'm waiting for this release as well! Love this doll, I wanted a Straberry in the beginning, but as see other skin colors... I really don't mind, all of them are soo beautiful.. June and September --> straight to calendar
Wow, she's beautiful... Did you do the wig? It's very nice. By the way, do any of you have some comparison pictures between cookie and chocolate skin? I'm not sure what to do.... Thanks!
@Betina Cookie skin Mousse hasn't been released so no one has a doll in that colour yet. Not sure about it but maybe you can ask Merry Doll Round to see if she can take a picture of one next to the other (if she has one in each of the colours that is). But there is a big difference in the colour between the two. You can see quite a few pictures on her instagram with both colours, there is a skin colour comparison picture somewhere as well.
Sure, thanks, good idea writing her, she's nice and answers fast. I'll take a look at instagram also. Then, yours is chocolate skin? She's very pretty, has a nice color, and you did a very nice work with her on her, really. Did you also do the wig yourself? 8O Cookie color seems to be veery beautiful!!! Around July they say? Saving that money from NOW.
@Betina Yes, mine is chocolate milk skin Thank you very much for your kind words! And yes, I did the wig myself ^^ I think cookie skin is a very pretty colour, I hope I can have another of her dolls in that skin colour, either be Mousse size or bigger
Not at all! She`s really beautiful, you did a goob job, it's the truth!! I had already seen her on flickr, and think I have her on my faves, nice to meet her mommy I think I saw her playing the guitar with the coolest look And, oops, the wig... I'll study your wig if you don't mind and try one I'm recieving alpaca for a licca reroot, and I think I'll have enough to try a wig. I was going to go for a Strawberry, but I think I'll get the cookie. My Ruse is so pale that they will do a nice couple of friends I think. Checked on flickr, yep, it's your doll I had seen. Girl, she's pretty, be proud! :P
@Gynure I'll try to do myself her wig when I get her, did you glue the hair? I wanted to try this method (sew the wefts), have you tried it?: http://static1.squarespace.com/stat...ke-weft-doll-hair-fig-and-me.jpg?format=1000w I'd put a tissue below, though....
@Betina yes, I glued the hair, and the headcap has a couple of layers of glue as well. I've never tried the sewing method. I'm not sure how good it could work for Mousse since her head is tiny, I don't know if sewing the hair would become too bulky. But if you try that method I will be interested in seeing the result
@Gynure I'll try, I think I'll end with enough alpaca, still treating it. When I got the girl (I want Nuria to let her go! I'm soooo impatient....) Oh, can you give her head measurements? I have a heartstrung ruse, if it's similar, I could try on rusie's head.
@Betina her head circumference is 9.6cm, and straight from the forehead to the back of the neck is 6cm. I'm not sure how you're planning on doing the headcap, but if you use something not flexible you'll have to take into account that even if your Heartstrung Ruse has roughly the same measurements it could still not fit Mousse if the shape of the head is different. That said, I've looked at the Ruse measurements and if the head circumference is indeed 10cm then I wouldn't risk doing a wig for Mousse using her as a model. It's precisely those 0.4cm of difference that makes it so difficult for Mousse to wear 4 inches wigs, they're always big and fall off. I think that a perfect wig fit would be 3-3.5 inches, but with that trend of doing wigs generally bigger than smaller I wouldn't be surprised that some 2-3 inches wigs fit her tight but fine as well.
Thank you a lot, that's very useful, I won't do the wig until I got her. What I'll just do, is that I have a cheap 4" wig that I plan to disassemble and use the headcap, that's flexible indeed. I have enough alpaca to try to sew a thin weft, and sew it to the headcap, if I screw it up, I'll glue the regular way to a hard wigcap. And report my failure to you XD Yes, Ruse has more 'cocoon' head than Mousse's, and as I love her wig, is not an option to do another for her, so, I'll wait for Mousse. 2-3 inches... Never seen one of those, and I only got (off-topic, of course) small dolls.... they wear 3-4 +- Btw, one of them have one that was too big, saw a stitch on the back, that's not visible and holds well. If you ever find a flexible wig that you like it may be useful (just trying to pay you back your nice ways... 2-3" just have two possibilities, to be the cutest or the most terrible wigs...
@Betina Hahaahaha ok! Hopefully it will work! although you will probably have to adjust that 4" headcap. Wigs in size 2-3 inches are very rare but as far as I know they exist. If you have any more doubts about wigs or anything you can contact me through pm as well Also, for anyone concerned about buying wigs for Mousse, I can tell you that Monique Gold wigs in size 4" are too big. So if it was me I would risk it and I would get a size 3". Also, I would avoid fringes because they tend to be way too long (unless you feel confident about cutting them). Leeke wigs in size 3.5" are too big as well. I haven't seen/tried any other wig brands, but I would inform you if I do at some point
Hello! I just bought a cookie skin Mousse yesterday at doll north! I had the opportunity to try some 3" wigs and they're actually still too big without a silicone wig cap. Here's a comparison photo of the cookie skin vs the chocolate milk skin Matching Mousse! by Jextia, on Flickr Also, Barbie skirts, shorts and capris fit pretty well but the (fitted) shirts are too wide in the bust. EAH skirts might also fit.
Hello thread! I won a strawberry mousse at doll north. Glad I've found a thread to chat about this awesome tiny girl ^___^ I don't know who she is yet but I have some leftover alpaca from some wigs I made and I can't decide if she's going to be a blonde or a red head
Yes I did! I put all my tickets in her box for the charity raffle xD I couldn't believe it when they actually called my number. It was great.
