Okay, here it goes then- I bought an Obitsu doll back in 2006, made some clothes for it, and then put it on a shelf and more or less forgot about it. Early this year I got him off the shelf, and noticed the years had not done the PVC body much good. Several stains had appears, some where clothing was in contact, but mostly blueish stains in the abdomen area without any apparent reason. This was his original shape. Iset off to make him lots of clothes to cover up the damage, and also to make him a head as was originally planned. I had not made a head in 20 years so I was pretty rusty. My first attempt turned out rather large and wide, because I used way too large eyes. Symmetry was not acceptable either. But I had something to start working with, and I picked my materials and got to work!
So I wasn't happy with the head, and I made a second (right). This turned out to be way too large for the bean stalk of a body, so I made a third head (left) and this is the one he is stuck with for now. Try and try again may not be the most economic way of working, but it has taught me a lot. And in due time, when I feel my abilities have improved further, I may try again. With his whole costume and wizard's staff Corax looks like this: And here are some of his accessories.
Wow, beautiful! I love the shape of the nose on the first head, especially. You did an amazing job. May I ask what sculpting material you used?
I use fimo oven hardening clay. Very similar to Sculpey, but more easily available in Europe. This colour is called Caramel.
