Maydoll | Lemoncat

I just ordered a Lemon Cat with animal body and faceup through Legend Doll. Been eyeing her for a while and finally took the plunge before the current ordering period ends. Hope the wait will be closer to 5 than 9 months!

 

I ordered a lemon cat with the human body through newcloversinging.
I was really tempted by the Serval cat too, but didn't want to buy 2 dolls without knowing the company.

 

I've been eyeing this sculpt for a while because it's so cute! I love the chubby proportions and am most likely going with the Lemon Cat face and animal body, the chubby paws are just too cute to resist. I planned on ordering through Jane's Dolland!

 

I ordered through Legend Doll.

 

I had been eyeing the Serval head for a while, and finally took the plunge before the preorder finished up. I also bought through Jane's Doll Land, and if I knew what to expect with JDL's faceups, I would have ordered a custom faceup from her, too. I bought the Serval on the boy body, human.

 

I own a Maydoll animal body from the first release that I bought from Mercari Japan. It's a super cute body, but Maydoll themselves said on their website that the animal body's poseability is limited compared to the human body and while I don't own the human body yet (I still want a closed mouth human Lemon Cat!), I think they're right. Her kitty feet are small so getting her to stand takes work (probably doesn't help that the surface I tried to get her to stand on had cloth on top of it) and she can't seem to tuck her elbows close to her sides or cutely touch her mouth, maybe with the human arms and hands that came with her that will work better as they are slimmer. When she first arrived I put my Gokidoll Miaow head on her (7-8 wig size, in the pic) and that looks a little small. She currently has my Dollvillage Nya head that works much better, but she will eventually be for my incoming Kaniboom Red Panda head. She fits volks MSD/MDD/Kumako size clothes, but seems to be a touch shorter in the torso. If anyone wants to see some posing examples, let me know!

I actually happened to get a body back in August. Considered getting a full doll but I had a floating head I needed a head for so I decided on just the body.

 

Just wanted to update this forum topic with some interesting news. Maydoll is releasing a new doll this month! I guess it's suppose to be puss-in-boots themed so this time, only a male body is being offered.

Honestly, I love the face. It's a very cocky smirk, which matches Puss-in-Boots personality.

 

The pre-orders just started on October 31st/ November 1st. And I believe he's available for pre-order until the end of November. Which I'm glad about because it gives me time to see if I'll order him. Might consider depending on how much I spend during black friday.

 

I love him a lot but can only find him "Fullset" without face up and eyes =_= frustrating

 

Legend Doll is offering him with optional faceup. No eyes and it doesn't seem like he comes with that resin wig though.

 

I've seen him over on Legend Doll but it doesn't say that it comes with the outfit (or the hair piece). If not, then it seems a bit expensive for a blank doll? It would be a shame as i've taken a shine to the sculpt

 

Seems like Maydoll is in general on the pricier side when it comes to getting them from dealers, unfortunately...

Here he is on Dolks. The 'fullset' (which does not seem to come with eyes or faceup) is US$557. A full blank doll is US$320.

And here's an example of what a Serval costs on My Dollection. A full blank doll is US$388...

 

That stinks.... Then again it makes sense considering I didn't see them in many dealers up until now.

 

Yeah. . . . Sadly they're pretty expensive. But from what I've seen online, they're similar to Puyoo dolls and have notches in their hips to help with posing. Considering you also get 4 pairs of hands with each doll, I think the price is somewhat fair. Maybe wait and see if New Clover Singing lists the doll. They usually have better prices.

Is he on their Taobao with that options? I would love a link to that.

 

Can't seem to find him on Taobao yet. I did find a post on Maydoll's weibo where they are doing a lottery sale for the 'fullset' doll, but though he comes with the entire outfit, sword and resin wig, it looks like he doesn't come with eyes or faceup either from the description of the fullset...

I guess Maydoll just doesn't usually sell their dolls with faceup?? You could try asking LegendDoll if they can sell him with clothes as well? Erica is usually quick to reply to enquiries.

 

Ahh, I guess i've been spoiled by more budget friendly Chinese companies! But to be fair, being a chunky MSD I bet there more resin used in the making so that would make sense the price is pushed up by that

Yeah, it does seem strange that you can't get the faceup with the fullset. So far it looks like Legend is the only place that you can get a faceup on a non-fullset doll, I wonder if they have some kind of deal with Maydoll for it?


Btw, does anyone have the human version of the body? I'm curious about the posing on it as chunky dolls can struggle with that sometimes

 

I do know of a video that has a review of the segmented male body! Here it is below! Just so you know, there IS doll nudity (obviously it's showcasing the posing), that and it's the old body, so there might be differences between it and the current one. It's not my video but it is from someone who I saw on DoA before, hehe!

 

I also wanted to mention that Anubis Dolls is selling the Maydoll Yalie with the option of a deep tan. And they even give an example of it on their website. Earlier this year, I ordered a lemoncat bjd with a deep tan but didn't mention it here because by the time I joined, the pre-order window had closed. Hopefully this information is useful to someone.

 

Clover Singing has just added Yalie/Ariel Rose Knight to their site. Nude doll, no faceup but with a choice of light tan.

 

Thanks for connecting me to the video! Seems the arms do pretty well considering it's a chubby body which is reassuring. I can live with legs that are more limited but find arms do a lot of work in making the body/posing expressive or interesting and where I'm most likely to get frustrated if I can't get them to do what I want

Has anyone found clothing that work well for this body shape? @Ai Kazi mentions in the first post they are similar to Puyoo doll Kumako dolls, do clothes made for those dolls work for Maydolls? (I have a Xaga 1/4 chubby body that I currently don't use due to it being difficult to find clothes for the lower half so it would be good to find some clothing lines designed for chubby, extreme pear shape bodies)

 

I'm pretty sure they will? I mean if it fits a Kumako doll I'm certain it will fit the Maydoll Lemon Cat too...

 

Welp, I pulled the trigger and ordered from legenddoll. I just really like the faceup so I'm glad they offered it!

I ordered my Lemon Cat (Serval Head, Myou Dark Tan) from MyDollection. I believe they're currently still accepting orders for the doll. The dark tan option is an extra $30. I hope this info is helpful.

 

Luckily I only preordered the body....... but I didn't get any final payment notification for some reason.....

I wonder why they ship the heads separately though instead of waiting to ship the full doll orders (from after new year holiday to April) . It wouldn't be that long and people will wait for the head anyway.

I am quite unsure if I will receive a damaged head or not. I guess yes, if all fullsets have it.

I have contacted newcloversinging about my lemoncat. I sounds like they did not get the faulty fullsets.

I ordered a doll on the boy body via Superbuy when they were up last Fall.

The boy bodies weren't ready when they were shipping them out a few months ago, but I got a final payment request from Superbuy the other day and all the options were there! I paid for him right away, just waiting for Maydoll to ship him now.

I was worried after so long with no updates that somehow I missed something in that first window. For anyone who's still waiting, it looks like the rest of the batches should be ready soon.

 

I hope this means my Lemoncat will be shipping from Legend Doll soon as well! I ordered mine with faceup though, so maybe it'll take a little longer?
