I needed to do a picture for the month of May for a calendar project that one of my lists is doing. It was a beautiful day, so I decided to take all the kids out for an early Mayday picnic. It was a real adventure getting everyone to the park, about 4 miles away, on our Vespa scooter, but we all made it safely and had a great time. Unfortunately, my camera wasn't behaving very well, so the pics are, um, atmospheric. Click on Hana to see the story:
That is so charming and sweet. It reminds me of my own family picnics, on benches just like the one you have! (Except there were usually more wasps and more screaming Rhians running away from them.) And I used to dance around the maypole at school, for our summer fete! I really enjoyed this; it had me smiling all the way through. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, everyone, for your nice comments! Rhian, I'm glad that the story brought back pleasant memories. Maypole dancing isn't a common American custom, so my main image of a maypole dance comes from the movie, The Wicker Man, which is set in Scotland. I wish that we had them here more often!
What adorable spring pictures! I love that red dress, and your little guys are so cute with all that food. Looks like everyone had a fun time. What park is that, btw?
Thank you, Dolly! That's one of the lakes on the Chain of Lakes in Golden Gate Park. This ones on a closed road that we can just squeeze our scooter onto, so it's pretty private.
Yeeey! picnic! what a happy and funny thing ^^ I'll make a picnic with my friends soon! I'll remember bringing Choco and Mikael! XD
Nice pictures!! I love Hana, she looks so fragile and nice, you know about my love for Megu >_<. You have a lot of cool stuff for the kids, the pictures looks real with all these things. I don´t know about Mayday. I supose that it´s not anything like it here.
Oh, look how beautiful. And the weather is so nice... I'm so in love with that kind of weather. It's still snowy here on the other side of the US.
Kelly! Those pictures are great! Each one of them are so perfectly captured and framed. I don't understand what you meant by your camera didn't take good pictures. I appreciate all the effort you've put in for the wonderful setting. I know it's a lot of work setting up not to mentioned making them looking so natural with all the props... All the kids are fabulous looking, and are so well behaved   Devon
Thank you again, everyone, for all your sweet comments! erzsebeth - I think that Mayday is mostly an English holiday, but I wish that is was universal, because it is a lot of fun. vox - Well, it was 87 degrees yesterday, but today it was about 60, foggy and misty. You can never predict what SF weather is going to be like! Devon - Thank you so much for your supportive comments, but I think that many of my pics turned out overexposed, even for being in the shade, and I am not very good at correcting that in Photoshop.
