Marta MNF head!- Update 6/12/06

      Meet Twink! She's the marta sculpt almost done! I need to do a final cast and then figure out the head cap better. She fits on MNF or Delf kid bodies. I'm having trouble matching the natural delf skin, it's real easy to get it too light or too dark. i'm going to experiment with mixing up some dye to make the color perfect every time.

      I sculpted her this weekend. :3 Still need to make her a head cap. In this photo she's partially sanded, so some of the translucent quality of the SS is gone- so she's easier to see. :P Her name is marta~

      Here she is sans ears, but plus eyes and wig! I cooked her with those glass eyes in so I was SURE that they would fit. That's a problem I've had with Bastian, getting eye wells the right size. Still need to do a lot of smoothing on her neck hole and such...

      She's on the smaller side of MSD/Kid Delf sized dolls. I stuck her on my Kid Delf An's body and she looks pretty good. No real telling till I cast her. I made her a little smaller than his rather LARGE head(his head is almost as big as my narae 60cm's) so hopefully she'll be just right for a MNF body. When I compared V to my friend's MNF, Oliver, his head was just a smidge larger than V's. I think the MNF's heads are a wee bit big anyway, so we'll see. :3

    2. Oooh, she looks very promising! I´ve been hoping for you to make a MSD-sized head ever since the Bastian thread and I think I like this one even better than Bastito :-)

      I´m looking forward to seeing more of her!

    3. Wow :D she has a family resemblance to bastian :D I like it when dolls resemble eachother, so you can tell who the sculptor is :)

      To make my sculpey dolls eye wells, I just sculpted over the eyes of the size I wanted then pulled them out after hollowing and before baking(they were acrylic @_@ ) When I put eyes in the doll after baking the eyes would sit in with no need for putty ^_^ But I kept testing it and the eyelid caved in a bit :P I'm an idiot.

      Do you have any tips on symmetry? I use a mirror to check my symmetry.. but it doesn't help enough.

      Oh wow! I first posted this a while ago and it didn't show up. n.n; Here she is cast! :D She needs some more sanding on a second cast, and I need to cast and finish her head cap... :oops: but still! What do you all think? Her body will be here next week and i'll start the long process of trying to get a match for the CP Normal skin. This is on my Kid Delf boy who's BW atm.


      Nanyalin: What a coincidence! The lady she's named after is from Barcelona, a friend of mine's wife. I haven't talked to them in years, but I had this weird dream about them and in it I was calling the doll her name, Marta. So i decided that should be her name! XD

      Glad you guys like her! :D When I do another cast with a better face-up I'll post some more pictures. :3
