Aesthetics Making Chihiro from Spirited Away

I started with an instock Doll Chateau Mini Bell from DDE which came with faceup.

I immediately removed the extra wrist/ankle joints and started the process of modifying the faceup with hand sanitizer (yay pandemic decimating the first aid alcohol stock) which took quite a bit of elbow grease.

removed eyelid crease which was rather difficult due to the gloss/glue

brows, residual gloss, lashes removed

fixed up the eyeliner and added my own brows

and also did some body blushing. the lower legs are bit too heavily blushed, so i took some of that off after the pics.

Then there was a very very long break on the project.

 

Shorts:
I ordered a pair of blythe fitting shorts in white from aliexpress. I liked how it fit!

Next was the process of getting it to the right color.
I had some Rit Dyemore from my previous resin color matching dye job. and figured that'd i'd mix to get the color i wanted rather than buying more bottles. and Voila! a nice red from yellow + pink.

Next thing to come in from china was the wig. I ordered a 4-5 wig this time and the fit was muuuch better. It came in pre styled, but i had trouble finding a plain wig with bangs in mohair.

so i undid the hair and put it up into a pony tail. Ended up getting a nice welt on my hand from snapping a elastic band for the hair tie.

The hair line leaves something to be desired, but i think it's passable.

 

The eyes~
I had some 10mm blue glass eyes from previous that i was using. I mean they were okay, but you couldn't see the any of the white of the eyes. plus the fact that they were blue while Chihiro had black eyes.
I saw some nice 10mm brown small iris eyes on etsy for like $45, but because I'm a cheapskate I decided to make my own with the materials I had on hand.

Using the clay a friend had sent me I made some ~8mm hemispheres and used the back of a brush to make the iris indention and then sculpted the iris and pupil

baked them in the oven for like 10~15min and then colored in the iris with some pastel reddish brown, black, tan and yellow orange.

Then I domed with some UV resin. The lower eye I ended up using a little too much UV resin, but also happened to be a little too small for the eye well. So after the below pic, I added more clay around the whites and covered up the excess resin and threw it back into the oven. Surprisingly nothing adverse happened to the already cured UV resin dome that i could see.

They're by no means perfect, but i think it's an improvement from before.

The Tshirt: my first sewing experience.
I also ordered a tshirt from Aliexpress said to fit on blythe as well, but what came was hugely oversized. It might have fit on an MSD... It was so big just at a glance I didn't even take a pic of it before I started messing with it lol.
I didn't feel like spending more money and waiting on another shirt to ship in from China, so I decided to alter the giant shirt to fit even though i have zero sewing experience.
So i hemmed about 40% of it length and width

then I eyeballed/freehand drew in a curve for the sleeve shape and attempted to sew that in (blue pen marks in prev pics) I left the original shirt's neck line and velcro opening as is.
