Hi all, while my boy is not even one of the biggest out there, he's a dollshe on a mystic body and the doll beds in my local stores are too small for him. So I want to try learning woodwork. Anyone know of any learning resources on building a doll bed? Thank you!
As a potential alternative to making one, had you considered getting a pet bed in the style of a human bed, such as this one: Elevated Dog Bed Furniture Raised Dog Bed Small Dog Bed Dog - Etsy UK Teddy
Honestly, I'd recommend going to YouTube and watching DIY videos on people who make their own beds. You can figure out from there what style you want and simplify it when you shrink it down. Your local library should have some good books or other resources for safe woodworking and required tools as well.
Another idea for you that may or may not work: You can consider using those window plantar boxes (something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Veradek-Brixt...ds=Large+Planter+Boxes&qid=1684805592&sr=8-58 ) for the base of your bed. Think "bed box" for these guys. It's easy to add hinges to them and a headboard to make them look enough like beds. The bonus is that since they are boxes, the bed itself can also work like a storage unit. That way, you don't need to invest in a lot of power tools (hand-cranked is usually enough) and you'll still end up with something that has a nice finish. I don't remember the height of a mystic body on the top of my head, so you might need to look around for a bit for something that'll be tall enough. But I made a sofa for my 1/3 boy a long time ago using one of these planters as a base. It worked out pretty nicely!
I'm not sure how big your doll is but would an Ikea doll bed work? you can often pick them up on ebay and there are lots of customising hacks out there. I know they fit the 18" American girl dolls.
