Magical creatures

Sep 18, 2025

    1. Hi everyone! My name is Angie and I’m quite new here on the forum. I’m impressed with what you can find over here. So I figured I’d make a post myself, since I can use some help.

I’m a big fan of Harry Potter and everything that has to do with the wizarding world. I’m also a big fan of the magical creatures. I like my dolls to be magical creatures as well. I have a MNF Eliya, she is a fairy. MNF Rin, which is the little sheep. MNF Celine, she is a witch. And now I have a MNF Woosoo vampire elf.

Do you have any more suggestions for magical creatures? I prefer Minifee/MSD sized dolls.

      Photos are more than welcome!

    2. Hi! Take a look at Dream Valley - they have a plenty of fantasy styled dolls in all sizes. :)
Resinsoul have some cute Centaurus/fairies as well, with a big choice of fantasy colors.

    3. Hi @angievx and welcome!

It all depends on what you actually mean. Is it fantasy dolls you’re looking for or suggestions on fantasy creatures/beings?

Doll wise there are a few companies that make unusual MSD sized sculpts although they tend to be limited editions. Dream Valley would be a good example. In fact they’ve just brought out a really cute MSD size bat girl.
The Ancient Secret - Daphlin, 48cm Dream Valley Limited Special Doll, BJD Dolls, Accessories - Alice's Collections

From what I hear the dolls they make are quite good posers too. They do have long wait times but most companies do these days. Depending on where you are based Dream Valley’s should be easy to find via dealerships such as DDE in the US, Alice’s Collection in China (world wide free shipping over a certain order value), Dolce Luce dolls in the UK, etc

If it’s magical and fantasy being suggestions you want then there are many. A lot of the Harry Potter creatures are based on myths and folklore. The House Elves are inspired by Brownies and a few other helper fae (a Dobby is in fact a useless Brownie), then there are the Merfolk, Centaurs (quite a few companies bring out centaur dolls every so often), Werewolves, Kelpies, Dragons, Phoenix, Shapeshifters, Griffons and Hippogriffs, the list from the Harry Potter franchise alone is huge.
If you look into mythology itself then the choices are endless as every country and culture has its own folklore to draw inspiration from.

Nature spirits such as Dryads (tree protecting fae) for example or even Water nymphs would be quite easy to convert into doll form.

Those are just a couple of suggestions, I’m sure others will be able to give you many more. :)

    4. My whole MSD gang are fantasy dolls. All three of my Minifee have elf ears, one also has vampire fangs. I have Dark Elf Soo, Karsh, and Jiyu. I also have dolls from Dream Valley, they do a lot of amazing fantasy dolls, and many of them are 1/4 scale. Gem of Doll also does great fantasy dolls in this scale. They currently have two with demon horns available, Taurus ones with hooves, and ones with a fox or cat face. Miracle Doll also has a couple of fantasy dolls, one that looks like a demon, and a muscular wolf girl.

      Hope that's helpful!

    5. From what I've seen, Dream Valley tends to do a lot of fantasy dolls. I've seen them do birds, mermaids, jellyfishes, etc. so they're definitely a company to keep an eye on. Coral Reef has some interesting sculpts too, like insects and recently a jellyfish girl.

If you're into vampires, Peak's Woods makes really lovely vampires in interesting resin colors like emerald green or moonlight gray. They also make other fantasy creatures like dokkaebi but I think those are usually 1/3 scale.

You might like Mira from Gem of Doll. She's a demon girl I think, and there are four different expressions you can pick from so she'd be fun to play with.

    6. Thank you for your reply! And that’s a good one, I looked into Dream Valley and they have very beautiful dolls. I will definitely buy there in the future!

    7. Really nice you like fantasy dolls as much as I do! I’m going to take a look at Gem of Doll, never heard of them! Thank you and do you have photos of your collection? I’m really curious.

    8. Ah Peaks Woods, I have always been in love with their Goldie. Not sure what creature she will turn into… but it’s a good one, they do have amazing dolls!

    9. I took a photo to share this evening on top of the shelving unit where I normally have most of them displayed, so my dollhouse wall hanging is in the background and some of my mature tinies are visible below them. And as you can see, most of them still need face-ups. Left to right- Dream Valley Rosa, Dream Valley Howard II on monster arm body, Aishavoya Wren, Dollzone The Hanged Man, Fairyland Jiyu, Fairyland Karsh, Fairyland Dreaming Dark Elf Soo, Miracle Doll LanQi, Creatures Dolls Absinthe, with Racoon Doll Elf Erika in the back. The dragon-dog is a Dream Vally Rubin.

    10. They look amazing, and it’s okay they still need face ups! Not all of my dolls have face ups, since I’m learning to do them myself. It takes a lot of practice but I want them to be perfect in the end
