I'm moving in the near future and while my 65's have cases and a bag for transport, my mini's have pretty much been shoved into whatever random tote or whatever I have on hand for every move I've made (even moving between the US and Australia LMAO).

So I decided on a new sewing project and found a bag pattern and drafted my own for the padded cases. My Narin 401 has the green and my Minisupia Yan is in the strawberry one! I matched them to the lining and exterior of the bag bc im extra like that! LOL. I will say my minisup's case is a tad smaller, I think cos I made the cushion insert a great deal fluffier too so I think it's bet suited to a slightly smaller doll so I might end up making her a new one.

Anyhow this project was really fun and I am pretty pleased with it so I want to share! Does anyone else hand-make their doll storage?

    2. Wow - a chic travel bag for your little darlings! The stylish one with the customized design and colors is beautiful to look at. Looks excellently crafted.
It's an incentive to try making transport bags as a sewing project instead of just clothing. My last Youpla Dolls only came in cloth bags or, currently, a very thin cardboard box. Before, the ladies always had sturdy carrying cases in their luggage :-) I miss that very much. So far I have only made this type of pillow myself.
Thank you for sharing and good luck with the bigger bag <3

    3. They look so good! I have been thinking about making my dolls some better storage and travel cases. I also love the thought of mstching the design to the doll. It makes them even more special!

    4. I am probably going to have to make a dragon travel bag because he is not suited for normal doll shaped carriers and most pet carriers aren't padded enough for my peace of mind because he has lots of pointy bits to him.

Also, I love the colour and the matching padded cases are delighful.

    5. I haven't yet, but I want to. Can I ask what pattern you used if you don't mind sharing? It came out so good! The matching outer fabric for the padded cases was such a good idea. I especially love the strawberry print.

    6. That looks awesome as a set!

I'd like to make a bag for a couple of my dolls, so i can bring them to meets or a con if I'm able to go to another one, but I haven't started figuring out a pattern or fabrics for it yet. I have some clear vinyl that I'm thinking I'll use to make it sort of like an ita back pakc with a window, but also have an insert for when I don't want it to be viewable.

    7. Ooo yeah a cloth bag or box doesn't feel like quite enough for something so precious, right?? I was super nervous about moving another time with no alternative storage options. Thanks so much, I have a Rosen Garden Bee8 coming soon so he might get the strawberry case thats too small hehe.

Thank you! Tbh I am a sucker for all thinkg coordinate, so I HAD to go a little extra. My big boys have the plain white cases but I gotta say having the fabric on the outside makes it feel a bit more unique which like you said, makes them feel more special. :>

OOO. The dragons are pretty big too, right?? I bet you could find a nice quilted boxy bag and then attatch pillowed insers ont he side and then make almost like airplane travel pillows to hook around parts of the body. What a fun challenge that would be. o w o And thank you!!!

The strawberries got me as soon as I saw them. You should totes give it a go, I used the pattern in this video end extended the length of the bag to 55cm, I didn't have to change any other measurement except the length of the sides, and bottom, oh and the zipper!

Oh I LOVE the idea of an ita style bag with a little privacy curtain that could go op and dopwn. You could sew magnets between the lining and outer material below the vinyl window and then put some in a flap... Ee, Idk why my brain just gets engaged with bags. LOLOL

    8. I hadn't thought about airplane neck pillows as a potential padding solution. That's actually genius.

    9. Such delightful coincidence! I'm really appreciated the share! I'm planning to get one so I can travel much easier with my dolls, especially since there'll be an offline meeting being held this end of May in my city. I haven't found the suitable bag but thanks to you I don't even need to buy.
