Lynx, my new... felitaur?

Apr 26, 2006

    1. Hello there!

I've come to share a new doll with you guys. I actually finished his sculpting and everything a few weeks ago but I've been unable to post him until now. His name is Lynx and I suppose he would be concidered something of a Felitaur?

One of his hands is a lot bigger than the other but I don't think it is really that noticable...

OMG he can sit too :P

I really like this pic :)

He has little tufts of fur on his head since he's supposed to be sorta lynx-like.

I still have a few things that I have to finish on him. He really needs to be sanded. Also, I think I need to get him clothing of some sort but I'm not really sure how to go about it. People keep asking why he's naked, and when I tell them I don't know how to make him clothes they tell me I should just throw some cloth over him, but I'd rather do something that would take at least a little bit of effort. Any ideas?

Either way, I hope ya'll like him :)

(PS. If the pics are kinda big, sorry about that. I forgot to resize them before uploading) :(

    2. hey Xaren, awesome jointing! he is really very, very cool..... I've been playing with the 4 legged jointing and your back legs look like they work much better than the way I've been trying...

      congratulations!

    3. I love the legs and feet!

    4. wow! you took on a difficult project and you did very well! I was trying to do a jointed fox for one of my daughter's school projects and it is soooo difficult to make them look natural in the sitting position.

      kudos!

    5. That's a really cool idea, I see he's nice and posable. Some aspects of him I'm not so fond of, like his face, but we all have our particular tastes. Congrats! He must have been a hassle to work on.

    6. About clothes, I would paint his body, the horse part, in a pattern that mimiced fur. Then give him a loincloth around his human waist and maybe a shirt (if he's a bit shy).

    7. Thanks everyone :).

I was thinking about painting him like that but I've been kind of afraid of making a mess of it. I've never really been too good at painting objects (as opposed to drawings on paper). I'm doing a lot of sanding at the moment and now I suppose I might give the painting a shot as well... shall I post pics of him afterward?

Also, not that it's really that big of a deal, but his non-human part is Lynx (Feline) not horse :sweat . It's okay though since everyone who has seen him here calls him my Horse-Doll... :P

    8. Felitaur! it's the first time I'v seen a BJD of such...
Something with his face sort of bothers me, but hey, not all dolls gotta be pretty little princes/ses, right?

The feline body part could be covered with the same white furr (it'll be funny if you sew him pants for four legs though) sure there are some shirts you could get for him for the upper part.

    9. He poses goregously! I love his body sculpt... the head is a little oval for my tastes, but I think he is AWESOME. :blush Would you sell the bodies in the future? :O
