Luts shipping - Is misspelled address an issue?

Apr 14, 2008

    1. I'm getting REALLY ticked with Luts. I e-mailed them, and posted twice in their forums to have my post deleted. This is REALLY important as my boyfriend spelled my address wrong in my order and everytime I try to post and ask them to fix it they just delete it without changing anything! What should I do? I'm worried I won't get my Bijou now because of this! :x

Are they not answering because I didn't have an account when I ordered my doll and now that I do they won't change it? Even though I know the EXACT typo and everything?

      Oh, I am so worried.

    2. Well, they right. If it be just someone why see yours order and resend it on the another address?
You can ask the password from an account from your boyfriend and send them official inquiry.

    3. It's possible they think you're a scammer. Well. More than likely.

How badly miss-spelled is your address? Does it still have you correct postal code/zip code etc on it?
If it does then stop panicing. Even if they can't find your house, it will be kept at the delivery office for that postal/zip area....You will have the tracking number, you will know when it's there. You can then take ID with your name and similar address on to explain and pick it up. Often miss-spelling doesn't matter. People always leave out the e on our house name, but post still gets here.

    4. He put Nassua instead of Nassau.

I gave them the order number, the e-mail he used, the exact way he put in the address and everything to stop them from thinking I am a scammer. *sigh* I just don't want them to say they 'tried' to deliver it and then just ship her back which I am real worried about happening.

    5. Well, if it's Nassua instead of Nassau, but the ZIP code is right, I really don't think you have cause to worry. The spelling is close enough, and what matters most is the ZIP code anyway ^^

Moreover, EMS doesn't ship back right away, they usually leave the parcel up for collection for 2 weeks.

    6. If you are really afraid so why not to call them? Tell them your order number and mistake and that's all. Not a big deal.

    7. Is your post password protected? If not, they may be protecting your identity.

As for the spelling, honestly, I don't think it'll be a problem if just two letters are switched, as long as the rest of the info, particularly the zip code, is correct. Good luck!

    8. I password protected it.

And is the numbe a toll-free number so I don't get smashed with a huge long distance bill?

    9. I don't think they've got toll-free number, I've called them 3 times and every time was about minute-or two so that's not gonna be expensive. Is it cheaper to call at night time for you? You have huge time difference, may be this will help you to make calls cheaper.
Just call them, ask for someone who can speak English - I tried to speak my broken Korean but decided that's take long time and asked who can speak English and resolved everything pretty fast. So, good luck and don't worry.

    10. I am just scared my parents will flip out.

They dun know about my Bijou.

    11. At the risk of pointing out the obvious... Why not have your boyfriend, being the one who actually placed the order, try to post on the Q&A to change it?

    12. He currently has no internet, but I will try to get him to do that when he gets home from Iraq.

The only issue is we ordered without an account and I have all the info since he forwarded it to me. I have a feeling the situation would turn out no different since he would either have to make an account or use mine.

    13. I think you'll be fine if its that small of an error. The post office should be able to fix it. As long as the zip code is correct your fine. People make minor errors in addresses all the time.

    14. It's just a minor spelling error; I am sure your town sees it like that a lot and as long as the zip code and the rest of your address is correct, then you shouldn't have to worry at all.

    15. This is incorrect. In the USA, the post office ships EMS packages with incorrect or unintelligable addresses back right away.
If the address is correct and the package goes unclaimed after 2 delivery attempts, they'll only hold it for 5 business days before it goes back.

    16. That typo is fine. My town has been spelled wrong in every way possible, once there were three letters left out, and I still get that mail. I'm sure the employees at your post office have seen "Nassua" a billion times, plus you've got the correct zip code. Don't worry about it :aheartbea

    17. I used to live in a town called Milton. As a joke, a friend of mine sent me a postcard that said "Mildew" instead. Another person I know used to send letters and such to a friend in Nashville but put "Nashvegas" instead. They had the right zip, though, so the postcard and letters came through fine. The post office is most concerned with the zip. As long as that is correct, it shouldn't be a problem.

    18. Unless you live in a condo/area complex where the mail man requires your last name to be the same as the mailbox's last name - then you have nothing to worry~ If it is then it's important that you try and contact them asap since the package can be held up at the post office and/or sent back to sender >_<;; my roomie had this problem when she moved in and we forgot to put her last name on our mailbox paper.

    19. You guys have really helped me calm my fears of not getting my Bijou.

      Thank you so much!

    20. Usually, suppliers and companies I ordered from, spell either my name wrongly, my address wrongly and so on, but it miraculously gets here safely. I think as long as your zip code, unit/block/apartment number is correct, a small typo wouldn't affect it much. ^^

    21. I have made a mistake to eve get the zip code wrong! :doh but the rest was all fine and i only had one number wrong in the zip..
But everything went all fine, I had to wait one week more than I should, and when i got it home it was all fine, they had corrected the zip on the post office.. and.. I kind of always write 2 instead of 1, and, last time i did that was when i waited for my BB doll.. and she arrived home safely..
So i think you will be fine :aheartbea

    22. I'm used to getting packages at work with addresses of places that don't even exist. Even back at home, as long as the zip is legible, they usually don't even look at the city name. After all, Bowling Green has at least 4 zip codes, so the city is meaningless. :3

I think, just as everyone stated, you'll get her. Though luts does take a bit to ship. XD

    23. The company gave the wrong address. Over in my country, the parcel cannot be delivered to my place and end up waiting in the post office, but no worries. I have my EMS track number. I call up the office and get from them.

    24. The chances are the post office won't even notice the spelling mistake, they would work off the post code. I don't think you'll have a problem. Keep in mind that there are hundreds of parcels going through, they sort via post code, to speed things up. The post code tells them which state to deliver it to and which local post office, from there, they just work off your address ie I live in Brisbane, Qld. my post code is 4164 - all Queensland parcels start with a 4, 164 tells them I'm in an outer Brisbane Suburb. My local post office sorts all parcels from 4160 to 4165 from memory. The only time you have a problem is if the street and suburb don't match the post code, then it has to be resorted and can cause delays. I know English postcodes can just about get the parcel delivered to the house. I wouldn't panic at all.

    25. I have to chime in with the "don't worry" group. My maiden name was "Nunn" and would not believe some of the most ridiculously addressed post we received (especially living on Black Friars Road ) and somehow it all got to us. Something as minor as a letter reversal most people aren't even going to register - enough people out there just automatically transpose the letters in their head that they aren't even aware of it. I'm sure that when it actually gets to your local mail carrier, your name will probably be familiar to them and it your little one will find its way to you. :) Good luck, post piccies when he/she gets there!

    26. I think your definatly worrying a bit too much. I mean usually the post office will pick up on such a small typo and still deliver the package within the zip code.

I mean on my order form I typed "road" but I forgot that the street signs changed so my address ended with "drive" instead. But I still got my package from Luts safely.
