Luts Model Delf 45cm (MDF) mature mini discussion part 2

Hello everyone!! Are there any full body comparisons between the Model Delf and the Kid45 Delf? I'm getting a Muhans Doll Mian Mian and I want her to be on a Luts body. I'm torn between the two especially because her neck size is 7.5 cm, so both necks are slightly smaller. Will that be a problem? Thank you so much for your help

I took it to showcase the compatibility between Luts and LM but it features both an MDF girl and a KDF45 girl.

So I bought Nine9Style Damage Jean in Ice for my Type3 male MDF body, they are tiiight. I cannot button them and he cannot move in them. They are also a little short. I am mulling around the idea of trying SD13 ones, they'd be baggy I know but boys do wear baggy pants and he's kind of wide hipped. I want to know FOR SCIENCE Has anyone else experimented with smaller SD clothes?

 

OH that would save me a lot on shipping if they look un-take-in-able! I'd really appreciate it!
I know the ones on their website would fit best, I kind of wonder if I can't ask them to make them in that size...because none of the ones I want are available on Luts anymore they are sold out

Looks like the broad shouldered muscle style reached model delf now too. Though I love to see Luts releasing new things consistently, I really dislike the style of all all these new bodies coming out. It wouldn't be so bad if they also kept the old style bodies (and possibly upgraded them!) but they've been discontinuing many of the old bodies as well. Plus they've messed up their own size consistency with all these size changes. Sigh.

Same . It's not for me. But I'm sure the new MDF will have their fans and I still wish them success.
I really hope the new heads will still be compatible with the old bodies.

Looks like Luts has the teasers for their new model delf up in Twitter, we're getting four right away, Agate, Jade, Saturn and Mars. Apparently they're "Model51 Delfs" so I assume it's going to be 51cm high doll. (I hope the links go to right posts, I'm on phone so checking is kind of pain in the ass)

I'm genuinely conflicted, I don't want dolls bigger than the current Model Delf but they do have really nice mature faces. On the other hand I'd definitely need to see how they compare size wise with every other line, especially regular model delfs and kid delfs since those are what they'd likely be associated with. Are the heads going to look massive compared to earlier MDF? Are they going to look smaller? Also are they actually compatible with the old body? I'm pretty convinced that if they're not we're never going to see another regular MDF again. I hope Luts posts a lot of comparison pictures when they get posted to the site.

I hope it's compatible with current MDF and I do hope they keep current mdf size too.
the trends lately feels like going over 50 and 35/38cm or below (1/5 size?)

100% agreed. I am also worried we might never see a regular MDF again. Unless it's a girl sculpt. At least until the dorito MDF49 girl drops.

But I guess I'm happy for the people collecting 50cm dolls. There's not that many in this size range so it's good there will be more options for those now.

 

"Dorito MDF49 girl" I may laugh now but that's so true, it's definitely coming eventually. I wish they'd get over the ridiculously wide shoulders thingy already, shoulders should not be wide enough to fit 5-7 heads, it just looks ridiculous. Same with the steroid muscles, I'm not a fan.

 

I'm kind of thinking the new MDF line won't be compatible with the prior MDF. Luts already did this with their SSDF line where the new larger/overly muscular (Superior) version is not compatible with their prior SD heads since they have a much bigger neck size. Hope I'm wrong in this, however. Luts has been my favorite company for years for their aesthetic and how compatible their sizes within the same scale were (such as a Kid Delf head could fit a Model Delf body and vice versa). Lately they've been throwing that all away. :<

 

@morganatron oh I agree! My old mdf is a hybrid that hangs out with SartoriaJ and Raccoondoll and he winds up looking pretty thicc next to them haha...I actually really like it even though he is quite short (sometimes I put him in platform boots haha)

There's picture of the size difference between the old and new model Delf here. The new one's neck is 8.1cm so it's definitely not compatible with the old heads so the new heads likely won't be compatible with the old bodies either or there'll be sizeable gap on the neck. Boo.

Aw. I love Modelf Delf because it's so broad yet proportional. I am not a fan of the old Dorito Shape manga man look. I'll be sticking to my original MD body guy.

 

I'm so conflicted by Luts lately. They've been releasing a lot of gorgeous head sculpts and had so many recent releases which I love to see them so active with. But they've been greatly steering away from what made them my favorite company. Not only the loss of compatibility on heads/bodies, but also their new aesthetic just isn't my cuppa tea anymore. I do hope they're still popular enough to keep going, but I can't help but worry they're losing the interest of prior fans. They've had that certain oldschool designs meets modernized newschool engineering aesthetic for so long. I wonder how long the current trend of overly beefy broad shouldered men with tiny heads and cinched waists will last. And if it will be worth it in the long run for them to be focusing so much on it. Maybe I'm just being cynical. And I need to better accept that the English speaking market is not their target demographic. I just want Luts to still be here in 10+ years.

 

Well, guess I'm in the minority here because I really like the Model Delf 51!!! Especially Agate and Mars - I think they are gorgeous!!! Sadly I'm not in a position to buy right now - and have a long wishlist anyway - but I'm really hoping other people are enthused and get some so I can see owner pics!

And I don't know - I think it makes sense not to make them compatible with the usual Model Delf, they look much more mature so I think the heads would look weird on the new body. And it doesn't look like they're getting rid of any of the old lines, they're still going strong, and variety is the spice of life after all! Why not have lots of different doll lines to appeal to lots of different aesthetics? I personally still love the Kid Delf AND the new fashion size mature dolls like the new Model Delf - they sort of have to be in different "worlds" as they don't look right together, but I enjoy the different styles they have! I've actually always loved the more adult/mature look of many SD dolls but they're just too big for me to manage, so I am really pleased with the new trend to release them in "fun size" as well! I honestly hope more companies do it - shrink down the big size so the MSD fans can have some too!

Now I'm going to sit here and drool over the pictures some more. Especially Agate in the long grey wig!

 

I guess broad shoulder men are popular these days in Korea? a lot of (mainly korean based) webmanga/manwha (adapted from Novel) men have broad shoulder.

 

Don't get me wrong, the new sculpts are gorgeous! Main thing bumming me out lately is Luts seems to be only releasing this new style of theirs and not paying much attention to prior lines. Plus the head incompatibility really messes up how they've been known to be able to fit heads from one scale on a different body if preferred. Luts also recently did discontinue many of their old bodies including 3/4 of their Senior Delf male bodies. I really think Luts should have made some more line terms for these new releases that are in the new styles. Like there's now a Royal Senior Delf, which is great! Super Senior Delf (Superior verion) should have had its own line name. And this new Model Delf 51 should have had its own line name too. I know Luts has done the Kid Delf 45 or the Senior Delf 65 name thing before but the heads between the two "different lines" were still compatible with the line below. So those are more of just a taller/larger body type that still had similar aesthetics and some of the same measurements too. Maybe they did not want too many line terms? They already have quite a few, however, including many that don't get much attention anyways (such as Baby Delf and Petit Delf).

TLDR; Throwing off consistency and no love for old style. </3

Plus they have definitely given up on certain dolls. Especially the guys. After a bigger line gets released there's no new sculpts being released for the old ones. At least that's what happened first to Delf guys, then Senior Delf guys and is happening now to Senior Delf girls. None of the new heads are compatible with the old SDF girl bodies.


All that being said I do approve of there being more options in the 50cm range. Even if the dorito aesthetics is not for me I wish them lots of success.

 

I'd actually like to know the opposite: can these new awesome heads go on the old body without too much gapping because I'm not a fan of the giant muscles and prefer the slim version of the old body.

The heads are gorgeous, I'm excited there's more mature heads in this size and I'd love to buy Jade, Saturn and/or Agate if I had money to spare right now but I don't want that huge body so if these heads can't be used on the old body the line is as good as dead to me already before it really even started. (Well that sounds a bit overly dramatic but what I mean is that I'm just going to ignore it like I do with the other bigger lines like it doesn't even exist)

 

This is what I wanna know too! I really love many of these new head sculpts but want them on the older bodies which they dont seem to fit. Hoping Luts will start selling lone heads on the regular, not just for events. Then could at least hybrid.

 

Oh that's fair enough, it's a whole other matter when they suddenly start ignoring or discontinuing older lines! That's no fun at all.

And I actually kind of agree on the "dorito shape" - all the new fashion lines have it! (FID, SartoriaJ, Raccoondoll) - I'd like a bit of body variety and have a doll in that size with a slimmer line, but no sign of one yet! Maybe one day.

I also wish the Model Delf 51 weren't so expensive - they're a LOT more than the other lines of this size, more SD prices, although I suppose they're almost SD size. The current 15% discount make them more in line with the other prices, but that's temporary. So I guess they aren't top of my wishlist, although I really like them, and will be interested to see what they do in future with this new line!

 

Yeah the MDF51 body costs more than the Delf girl body .

 

Really?! Huh. That seems a bit unfair. I mean they can charge what they like obviously but it seems a weird choice!

 

I second what digi said. I'd love to know if mdf51 head can go on mdf45 as well.

 

I've been feverishly looking for alternatives to the current choices for 50cm boys so I feel like I shouldn't be picky, but the dorito shoulders, and dehydrated beefiness really gets to me
Half tempted to mod the shoulders narrower, but at that price point....
I'm gonna hold off for now, in the hopes that maybe? maybe? they'll release a slim/slender version like the MDFs but i'm not holding out hope.

 

I sent them an email to ask if there's any plans for a slim version. Waiting for a response.

 

I really like them... The body type isn't my fave, but it is the trend. I wouldn't mind the dorito shape with less ultra-definition. That said, I'm currently a little obsessed with Agate and he might come home to me one day... Maybe...

 

I really like Agate but the body is just too beefy... I really think he would make a good fit for a rogue character I have in mind but I think a more lean body type would be better.

 

OMG I want MDF51 but I can’t!!
They are too small and delicate.
For me, who has a doll over 65 centimeters tall, it will be a different world beyond that. But it's easy to carry, so if you had an MDF51 from the beginning, you might have bought it. What I'm curious about is that there's not much difference in price with MUSE. But I can understand that the smaller and more delicate it is, the harder it is to make.

The MDF51 body is most compatible with the MDF51 head, but the S-shaped ring for the Kid Delph also allows the Kid Delph head to be worn.
However, the overall feeling can be different depending on the head☺️

Oh Luts.......share photos of the MDF51 body nude with KDF heads pretty please with sugar on top. I have to see this because the image of it in my head is hilarious. Some of the more childish looking kid delf heads already look funny on the more muscular Model Delf. Imagine the dorito child.

 

Oh I don't think all this is negative. It's true that a lot of new dolls are following the trend, but the 51cm doll and the RSDF line are really innovative lines. And there are many people who welcome new sculptures like me.

And,I'm sorry but I think it's better to think that MDF51 is a completely different MDF line. Wouldn't it be weird if he was 51cm tall and his shoulders were narrow? So I think they made it into a new line. Of course, existing MDF owners must have been disappointed.

I think they didn't stop selling MDF, so I hope you don't worry too much.

Also, I think MDF51 body and KDF head would be a bit burdensome. However, since there are various tastes, they are showing various example photos, and Luts recommends a 51-only head for the MDF51 body from the beginning. I think we can use the MDF body like before.

And the price hasn't gone up for a long time, but I think the price increase is due to the rise in Korean prices due to wars in many countries these days, and creators in trouble because all the materials that I have to buy abroad have become expensive.

I expect the MDF51 to be a heavy doll with quite a lot of urethane or need delicate making process,In addition, even if it is small, the more detailed it is, the more difficult Post process is to work by Considering that, it will be more difficult than SSDF. Therefore, I think the size and price are irrelevant. In my experience, a very delicate cool item on 1/12 scale is much more expensive or similar than a typical item in SD.

And on the Luts website, MDF and MDF51 have different categories. Maybe just because the existing MDF body is renewed, it won't be as big as 51. And I think this is what Luts cares about because when you build a new body, convenience always improves. It's also changing more naturally, so I'm satisfied.

 

Wow, how good of Luts to show so many pictures of the new body with different heads! The original MDF heads look very small to me on the MDF51 bodies, but then again, I find the MDF51 heads quite small on their bodies too, and that is the trend lately. Funny enough I think the size of the KDF head on the MDF51 body looks pretty good! The face, not so much.

I am glad to see Luts expanding their offerings, and the MDF51 are certainly quite handsome and well sculpted. And I love the size, like a 70cm equivalent for minis! Sadly, I am not a fan of the fashion doll style proportions, so these guys are not my cup of tea. I'm sure they will be loved though.

Omg if Luts offers these new heads on the regular Model Delf bodies, I'm in danger.
I do wonder about gapping though. The necks on these 51 seem a bit bigger based on the measurements.

Hi everyone! I got a shipping notice for my Lapis this morning and I am super excited to get him. The problem is I wasn't expecting him till at least July and have ZERO clothes he can wear when he gets here. So my question is what clothes can he wear? Are there any shops on etsy I can get something quick from? Or does anyone know where I can get some really simple sewing patterns for him? At this point I am probly going to have to wrap him in a doll sized blanket for a while till I can get something. He is on the slender body if it helps. Please let me know if you need other info.
