Luts Model Delf 45cm (MDF) mature mini discussion part 2

I love elves... ordered Elf Larimar in the lavender skin through divas (super long layaway x.x I should not be ordering a new doll at this time though. But, you know how it is). Thought of going for Bubble Mint or just white, but the product photos look gorgeous with the lavender color, I couldn't resist. At this point I'm gonna have a bunch of blank dolls though *sigh* I need to stop buying them and focus on getting their facep materials.

 

Well now, the MDF is a gigantor compared to the poor little MNF. I love this pic, I love this group. I wonder what their band name would be? (I have exactly one canonical band, and it's Joy and the Buzzkills)

How tall is the little mnf? I was wandering what's her height as I have a little Monica and I just got the raven MDF, hoping there will be a fair height difference between them two xD
( Also they all so amazing!!)

 

The MDF is 45cm with the head but looks taller since he's the slim boy and the minifee Moe-line so she's extra short at 38cm. The Viola head is on a Dollmore body and she's 43 cm but her hair adds height.

 

I don’t own any fantasy sculpts right now but I just ordered a Elf Larimar in grey resin to make a dark elf character. It was definitely an impulse buy so I am doing a 9 month layaway on it.

Hello! Does anyone have a model delf guy and an iplehouse fid girl? I'd really like to see them together but can't find photos on google.

 

My Raven Elf head arrived the other day! I gave him a quick face up and accidentally made him look just about as tired as I feel, lol! Still not sure if I'm going to redo it, since I like how the lips came out.

He also hybridded very nicely onto the Mystic Kids body that I planned to use for him.

 

@Magnus Vale I personally love the tired look, since that's my baseline mood and state of being. He looks to be in need of a hug and a soft pillow

 

Fair enough! Maybe I was subconsciously projecting my lack of sleep on him when I was painting him. I'll get him some rest! (Now all I need is a wig that actually suits his character, all the ones I have that actually fit are completely off in some way. XD)

 

Question for anyone who might have a Model Delf Raven: Is his head generally the same size of the other model delfs (which, I believe veer closer to Fashion Mini sizes)? Or is it a bit bigger, like the typical Souldoll/Withdoll sized heads?

 

@Epona Luts has relatively exact head circumference measurements for (more or less) all MDF heads since they do vary a bit and they are unusual for an MSD. The size listed for Raven is 6.1 inches, while my Souldoll Blake is 6.5 inches.

 

Popping in as I saw people is receiving their elf ravens! Has anyone gotten their elf raven (including body) or only heads as for now?

 

Where have you seen elf ravens, @sunsunmi ? I ordered a full doll in mint grey. Wonder if that will make it take longer.

 

A couple of days ago while lurking some Korean collectors on Instagram. I ordered mine with body and face up so I don't have hopes to receive him for Christmas

 

Anyone happen to have a Model Delf hybrid of a male Model Delf body with a different company head? My Kid Delf head on male Model Delf body didn't work so I'm looking into hybrid options. Only one of my Kid Delf heads doesn't look good on my male Model Delf body and its the only one I got this specific body for.
I'm thinking about trying a Withdoll or Little Monica head but am worried about neck sizing. I just know I don't want a more realistic face such as Iplehouse.

 

@Cap'n If your problem was the head not staying on then it's due model delfs having smaller s-hook than what kid delfs use, it's pretty easy to swap the hook and it doesn't even require taking the doll apart or anything. I did the opposite earlier, got the kdf45 body for my model delf head and had to swap the hook for a smaller one for his head to fit. I simply pulled the hook up from the neck with a keyring, slid the new hook in and once I was sure it was in it's place let go of the old hook, pulled the whole thing up from the new hook this time and removed the old hook.

Edit: oof I reread your post and your said it was only the looks that are off, sorry. I'd delete this but apparently that isn't an option. ^^; but oh well, maybe that can be useful information for someone looking to hybrid kid and model delf.

Yeah my problem is that the ONE kid delf head I wanted for the model delf body doesn't fit. The neck hole on the head is too small and it can only sit on top of the neck to make him look like a giraffe. I'm not going to mod because he has an older limited company faceup that I wouldn't be able to get again if I mess it up. My 4 other kid delf heads all fit fine without issue. But they're all different colors or genders. It's literally only this single kid delf one that doesn't fit. The head I specifically got the model delf male body for.

So warning to all, older Berry heads don't fit on the Model Delf male body! They fit on the female just fine, only not the male.
The promo pics for the model delf free choice actually shows a Berry too so I don't know if they've since changed him or what.

All of them definitely need bigger s hook than one came with modeldelf. I lost it when changing souldoll head, Souldoll's neck hole not tidy and really big (that's why it's wigless, I was afraid fiddling with the head and the s hook can move and slide down the neck). Little Monica's which is slimmer and sculpted nice and tidy.

Thank you SO much for the pic! I hadn't even thought about Migidoll and from that pic I like him and the Little Monica. S hook size isn't a problem, I have many I can switch to. I believe that's the same model delf body type as I have as well so this is very helpful. For the Migidoll and Little Monica heads, is the neck size a problem for either of them?

 

@Cap'n, I apologize took a whole week to answer.
both heads sit comfortably and good range of motion side to side and down. But can only look up a bit. MD can look up marginally better vs Kliff, but Kliff can look down better. Kliff's side to side also marginally better.

neck size i don't think is a problem. both heads sit nicely in my opinion. with LM maybe neck looks slightly longer? If he's tilting his head to the side to the extreme, you can start seeing the top of the neck where it starting to curved/rounded, if this is considered a problem? Hope this can be useful for you

oh i also have this one, a girl Little Monica Little Harmony head, she is Irin.

 

If you still want to see a Withdoll comparison, I can do that. Just let me know!

 

Apparently for this event the model delfs will be added in the third part which will be posted on the fourth week of December. (Their Japanese Twitter said the second part with senior delfs comes at the second week and third part with model delfs comes the fourth week, that's where I got this schedule, haven't seen it posted elsewhere)

I'm excited to see which dolls get mdf sized next or if they'll make completely new dolls and if they keep the same devil theme the kid delfs have or go with something else. I'd be extra happy to get some sort of winking/other eye closed special head but otherwise I have no wishes.

 

I don't have intentions of participating in this event but I'm still excited to see the new model delfs! It'd be nice if this time they have a scaled down girl sculpt and a completely new male sculpt since it was the opposite for the summer event.

My Larimar was sent off to a faceup artist soon after I got her but I wasn't able to open her up until yesterday. She came out exactly how I imaged her and I'm so happy


She's got the eyes she came in for now since her eyes are still on their way but I actually like how they look!

 

Would love to see a comparison when you get the chance please!

It's funny cause I never realized just how long I've wanted a mdf until I was looking through the old discussion thread while waiting for her and there I am commenting on the first release of the girls in 2014! I'm so glad I've finally got my girl home~

 

Made a discovery today that Iplehouse JiD sized male clothing fits the Model Delf male slender body! I'll post pics later but I had been having the issue where my model delf guy could only wear bottoms with drawstrings to stay up but I got some JiD pants in with a button closure and they fit perfectly.

 

The neck is basically a perfect fit! There's no gapping and it gets a decent range of motion. Additional photos under the spoiler cut.

It can't tilt back very far but can tilt down a decent amount.




Side-to-side is a little more limited than the MDF head, but it might be because the Withdoll head has a deeper groove cut out for the S-hook.

 

Hey, can anyone confirm if the luts model delf girl body's shoulders are 7.2 with or without including the arms? Thank you if you do, I've been hunting everywhere!

Edited to add: @Cap'n , my partner has a model delf muscle body with a souldoll kids head that fits great and matches well with minimal blushing. we're big fans of him! It's kinda similar to withdoll stylistically but I'm not sure if he might be too mature looking. If youd like pics I can go grab some.

Hey guys, just a quick question because I haven’t been on this site in a while. Does anybody have any idea if typical MSD clothes tend to fit Model Delf’s with the Upper type 1 and lower type 1 body? I know the legs are a lot more robust than most MSDs, and didn’t know if anyone had any advice on clothes shopping for them. It’s a model delf Abadon, if that helps.

 

It's the distance measured between the highest points of the shoulders. Without arms the body is around 6 cm wide at the shoulders.

 

@TheUmbraWitch I have type 2 and that is a challenge too. I have luck with brands "mogu" and "bears" for pants, but those are baggy ones not the slim or fitted pants. For top since mine is also type 2 sorry can't help much.

 

Hello friends! Does anyone have a bodice pattern for Model Delf girls (type 2 basic bust)?
I've made a couple of trials of my own but would like to see other ideas on dart size/placement etc.

In the meantime here's my baby girl - 2009 KDF Bory on her new MDF body - I'd call that an upgrade if I ever saw one!
Everything in the pic is handmade.

 

They finally revealed the model delfs, we're getting Breeze and Maria but unfortunately according to their Japanese Twitter (if translator didn't completely fail me) there won't be special versions this winter event despite them being mentioned in the original schedule. Shame since model delf special versions were the ones I was most looking forward to but at least my wallet is safe then I guess.

 

First of all great outfit. I love her look and that shirt looks super cute with the knot detail.

That's the pattern I use currently but I plan to adjust it a bit in the future. The curves are rather extreme and a bit difficult to sew. I have to baste the princess seam very carefully by hand before sewing. It's also slightly loose around the waist because I'm lazy and I like to draft my patterns in a way so they fit multiple dolls.

This is a blouse made with this pattern worn by my MDF Ani (basic bust):


As you can see it doesn't fit snugly around her waist. Personally I don't mind but you might have to go for more extreme curves at the waist if you are looking for a skin tight fit.

As for the new MDFs that are being released: I love them both but I think I can manage to resist them. The combination I want most won't be possible to order anyway (MDF Breeze head on a KDF45 girl body). So I am safe .

 

Aw, that's a shame. An elf Breeze or fantasy version would be super cute.

 

Wow, Breeze is perfect; and I mean, drop all my plans and scramble to get him instead perfect. It really is too bad about the special versions though. I guess it’s preferable to some of the bigger event delays Luts has had lately, and there’s been a ton this event already, but I hope maybe they can get romance/fantasy editions later on when it won’t be such a big load on them.

 

Hello, I was wondering if all MDF clothes from LUTS website fit MDF slim&slender (type 2&3) perfectly? I’ve bought their pants with dolls in the same order so I’m not sure if it will fit or not.

 

Does anyone have the (older, not the kdf45 version) kid delf body and model delf head on it that they could post pictures of? Male body preferably but I'll take anything I can get. I kind of started wanting Bliss and thought he'd look cute with shorter body but I've never actually seen picture of mdf head on the kid body aside of my own Terra who has the kdf45 body.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any references of a MNF head (any) on a male MDF body? I've been having a little search myself and found some female hybrids that seem to have worked for people, but can't seem to find any male ones? I'm thinking about the the type 1, muscular body for a character but looking for heads that would work as a compliment to the rest of my MNF crew!

Any help is much appreciated

Looks wise, it's fine. I put my minifee vampire Klaus on my Slender Model Delf body for shits and giggles before. Head in NS and body is WS so color is way off.
For colors, new Luts WS is a decent match to new Fairyland WS, but they mellow different. Luts takes on a creamy tone while FL goes more pearly. Luts NS and FL NS also don't match but Luts has a newer color called Real Skin Peach (Obitsu White) that's actually a decent match to FL NS.

Elf romantic Raven in the house. I really like this guy! The minty grey resin is unusual and very pretty. I want to take those shiny red lips down a bit, but other than that, his faceup is beautiful. He poses so well. Hadn't expected that.
