Thank you. It’s good to see the difference. I have a hard time deciding on the doll for making my husband. Females are easier for me.
Out of blue I saw someone selling the werewolf Terra scar head in normal skin on instagram and had to snatch him up and he should arrive next week. *happy dance* (Junior) Terra was one of my first doll crushes back ages ago but too big and expensive for me at that point in life so I never got to have him, therefore I'm super excited to have him in MSD size instead, the scar is a bonus that gives him more character. I need to get him a body but I also kind of really want to order a doll in the currently available bronze color, it's too gorgeous to pass. But I can't decide who'd look the best in that color so I'm just sitting here trying to make the decision. :')
Ooh congrats! That's exciting XDD I'm a little similar - I ordered a werewolf Terra in the mint grey bc my first doll was a SDF Terra and I had to sell him some years ago. I still miss him, so I'm hoping to reshell him into this smaller version. I can't wait to see more owner photos of them! (and completely agree with the bronze...too delicious, too many options )
@Shai Can you take a quick over-bust measurement for me Spoiler: Over-Bust Example I have made an ultra complex list of measurements I'm going to post for everyone's reference but it's the one thing I can't measure on my girls
I could try, I'm not the best at taking measurements. I'll try to do it this week for you. What where you taking it in, inches or cms?
@Shai do you mind posting a pic? I'm just curious how the type 1 bust looks, because I have a model delf with the type 2 bust, and I was surprised how big they ended up being haha. I was thinking of getting another body with the type 1 bust but I'm bad at searching for pictures thru the search function sometimes
Sure, I'll snag a few pics for you when I take measurements. ^^ The bust is relatively small in my opinion.
@TheKidAbroad It's 6 and 1/2 centimeters. ^.^ @paintmeblue Here are some quick photos with and without clothes. ^.^ I didn't take a pic but with a shirt and vest on they're pretty flat. Edit: Here is an older one you might be able to see.
Oh what I wouldnt give for them to make the Original body available again. Best joints in the industry, to me. Ever. So, so gorgeous and then they PULLED IT.
Hi everyone! My first model delf girl arrived yesterday (technically she is a kid delf head on the model delf body) and I was shocked seeing just how big she is in person! I was not entirely prepared clothing wise for her. What are some of the places you have had good luck getting clothes for the model delf girl body with the type 2 (basic) bust? I can't imagine trying to dress the larger bust version! The dress I was able to get on her from nine9style she's just about bursting out of!
Has anyone seen the new model delfs? They are both so pretty! Luts really makes such beautiful dolls. I really want a xylon
I've liked Xylon for a while, but I'm really trying to cut back on the SDs, so I was very excited to see him in model delf form!
I prefer the smaller sizes, so I would love to see more of the bigger dolls get model delf models as well! The new grand delfs getting a model version would be cool to see one day. My wishlist gets longer by the day lol
Yes they are tempting me so much. I was going to order MDF Ani in rosy brown in January but now I am not so sure anymore. And on their IG they've posted teasers for limited(?) MDFs a few days ago. Decisions, decisions... And a few months ago I told myself to get into the hobby slowly . At least Xylon is not limited.
I like both the new limited dolls, though I wish I could see the images of Ann romance version blank. Though I'm also eyeing Silver in one of the special resins.
First I wanted a Diez in rosy brown, then I switched to Bliss, and now I'm considering the limited Xylon... It's not even January and my 2021 plans are already getting derailed
Finally settled on Bliss in rosy brown on type 2 body + Xylon limited head in white. Diez will probably also be coming home (or at least ordered) by the end of the year. I'm thinking about getting Xylon the kdf 45 body so there's a bit of variation; also because he's probably going to end up being a Peter Pan-type character so I'd prefer younger and more androgynous.
@monkeypizzasonic Bliss in Rosy Brown will be absolutely gorgeous!!! Excellent choice I can't wait to see him! I have a question for MDF collectors as I only have one. I noticed that the sleeping heads for the original lineup of boys (Abadon, Dion, Cian) are all marked as Sold out... Did they discontinue those? I was going to get a Sleeping head for my Dion boy... but never really "jumped" on it since he was a standard. Or so I thought?! Now Joel will never sleep
I've been curious about the model delfs for a while, and I fell in love with the rosy brown resin option, so I broke down and ordered a Terra in that color. I've added some clothes to the order, but I know I'll want to dress him up different ways later, so here's a question to all of you: where do you shop for your MDF boys? Is Luts the only company that makes anything that fits them? I was thinking maybe clothing made for the 1/4 sized Dollshe boys might fit... Thoughts?
hello I've really fallen in love with the model delf Ann, but I'm still really confused because I do not own any dolls yet and there is so much information. I'm really confused about what size doll this is in general, (like 1/4?) the sizing of the clothes, and I'd like to be able to have options for my first doll. I want a doll that is kind of smaller sized to start with, but I don't want a child doll, so I feel like this is a great option for me. I also like that I can buy directly from their website and it isn't too confusing. I was looking at minifee as well but their website doesn't appear to have in stock options. do you guys think this is a good first doll option, or is it too complicated, or is there really no "right" option for a first doll? I guess I'm just really overwhelmed and it's hard to find information on this specific doll. thank you in advance
@rubycat I really like the Ann sculpt as well it's so pretty! my first doll was a model delf Jean and in my experience, I would definitely recommend a model delf as a first doll! I'm same as you, where I wanted a smaller but also more mature doll and model delfs fit the bill pretty well I think! I have ordered 1/4 sized clothes from Alice's collection and they tend to be slightly big on her, but nothing crazy. One thing about model delfs is they have smaller heads than other 1/4 dolls. 1/4 dolls tend to fit 7-8 sized wigs and model delfs fit 6-7 which is yo-sd sized. The model delf body is only single jointed as opposed to double jointed like fairlyland, but since she was my first doll, I can't compare the two, but posing her hasn't been a problem with me. Also, fairyland doesn't sell in stock dolls, but Denver Doll Emporium has an in stock page for their minifees and they are located in the states, so depending on where you live, this could be super convenient for you. I'm also learning as I go, so hopefully my limited knowledge helps!
The current model delf girl body is not single jointed, unless you put heel legs on it. The previous girl body had an option for single jointed knees, and was not exclusively single jointed. That body has since been discontinued.
D'oh haha my bad I don't mean to spread misinformation. Wow I can't believe I couldn't tell the difference. I just got her in summer 2020 so she must be double jointed then!
I tried a pair of pants made for the 28M fashion size and they do fit on my muscle model delf but Im sure fabric and cut could affect the fit. I didnt have time to try any shirts.
My Avalanche arrived (He should actually be blond but the blond wig I own - supposedly in his size - doesn't fit his head so he has to wear this now till he gets his own one.) Kind of regretting not getting him in bronze skin but the brown skin is lovely too in person, nicer than I thought it would be, it's definitely not as green as my picture makes it look like at least! his head appears to be much bigger than Terra's one is so hunting suitable wigs for him will be "fun" but other than that, I love him and I'm excitedly waiting for warmer and dryer weather so I get to paint his face.
I'll take one later, I want to swipe Terra's faceup first. Guess you want to see the difference in their head sizes? Terra is still body short since the kiddelf45 one I had meant for him just doesn't work, the s-hook sinks inside the body too much and he looks short necked due that x( so now I need to order him yet another body *sighs* guess I'll wait for spring/ summer event for that unless I can snag mdf body secondhand somewhere.
@digi yes please that would be great. i am curious now that you mentioned about head size difference. i'm also eyeing Terra. also apologies if i sound rude... was meant to type "do", not "so"
Alice Collection offers a “donut” of resin that sits on top of the neck, under the head that may help with your problem.
I use a neck piece from Cool Cat for one of my doll which looked short necked and it works well so might be worth a try!
Sorry if this is posted somewhere, but I was wondering if the head sculpt on the Model Delf's are the same as the Kid Delf heads, and if they're compatible with the Model Delf bodies? I have an older Kid Delf Ani and I'm in limbo with him. I'm wanting to get into more mature looking MSD girl dolls, yet he was my first doll so am reluctant to part with him. I actually like the look of the MDF Ani girl, so, could I simply buy a MDF body and have it work with my KDF head?
MDF heads are smaller in size than KDF heads but they can be switched out. I am planning to get a MDF body for a floating KDF head as well . Luts had even released KDF heads on MDF bodies in the past. I think they called them Model Kid Delf or something.
Thanks for your answer! Hmmm, I thought they might be a bit smaller, to give more 'mature' proportions...I guess that answers that. That's pretty interesting, I've had a look on the site and Model Kid Delfs do seem to look a little more mature than regular Kid Delfs, but not as mature as the Model Delfs. It would be nice or some side by side comparisons, or someones home pictures of their MKDF.
This is like week late but here you go; Here's also another picture to show them with headcaps switched. Note that my Terra is the werewolf version, I don't know if the normal one is different from it. It seems that they have about the same length face but Avalanche has longer head and chin.
Yes. Just make sure that you select the correct S hook to come with the body. The default model delf S hook is too small to use with a kid delf head. Here is a photo of two of my model kid delfs. The mint grey resin one is a luts release of a kid delf head on a model delf body (slender type) and the brown resin one is a floating kid delf head I put on a model delf body (also slender type).
@digi thanks for the side by side photo . i love seeing seeing different sculpt from same line/same company side by side.
Apologies to pull this reply a couple of months late, but I was actually struggling trying to find information on whether Xylon’s Model head can be put on a taller body because I like the sculpt so much. I didn’t realize he’s originally an SD, which is a relief! Thank you so much
Hey, thank you so much for all this info and lovely pictures! I love your mint coloured doll, such an etherial colour! The combination is definitely interesting, makes the doll look a lot more mature and doesn't look 'off' like I was worried about. Getting an MDF body is something I'd definitely consider to revamp my KDF.
So pretty! Where did you get that outfit, I've seen a lot of SD+ ones like that but not any model sized ones? (also thanks for giving me ideas for what to do with my little gemstones I have lying around lol)
Paid off my layaway for my Bliss and Xylon head, but Denverdoll says it might take another 4-6 weeks for them to get here. Am trying very hard to convince myself that I already probably have eyes/wigs/clothes that will fit them just fine, and I need to not go crazy with the spending right now...it doesn't help that the character concepts have changed between when I ordered them and now.
Heya! I’ve been following the thread and watching a lot, checking peoples hybrids. I love the MDF head size and style but I want a body with more motion and more robotic qualities, weirdly. (It’s for an android character) So I’m considering trying a Lazuli, Lapis, or Diez head on a Minifee boy motionline or fairyline, or on a Souldoll Kid, or a DV 51cm. I’ll need it in white skin if possible so I’m a bit nervous about getting the skin to match perfectly... but honestly, if it doesn’t, that might not be a big deal since he’s meant to look kind of unfinished and broken. Does anyone have good comparison pics so I can see if the head looks okay or if it’s too small?
@ashbelEro - Someone asked this before so I already have a photo of a model delf head on a dream valley 51cm body. Meet Google Drive – One place for all your files Colour is not the same but you can see proportions at least.
@ashbelEro - I dont know what youre referring to but here are the other photos I took. Side - 20200828_224731.jpg Looking Up - 20200828_224742.jpg Looking Down - 20200828_224749.jpg Titled? I forgot... - 20200828_224847.jpg
@ThatiRosen - The head is luts brown resin and the body is dream valley's normal pink. I dont have any of luts normal resins colours so I couldnt say which match dream valley's normal pink (or normal yellow I also have) better.
