Luts Kid Delf Discussion part 12

Sep 17, 2014

1. Thank you so much auntbear and vicemage!! I've finally done it hooray!

2. Finally got it uploaded! LINK Hope it helps!
MilkTeaDolls Ahh, she's so pretty! Where did you get the dress?

3. And I uploaded comparison shots between KDF boy bodies 1, 2 and 3! They're in order from L-R. My models are my lovely Maska Elf, Lumiale, on body 1, my Yuz, Shinya, on the multi body, and my roomie's Buzzi, Junichi, on the type 3 (classic body). If anyone needs particular poses, please let me know and I'll take some shots for you!

4. It's actually a Luts outfit! KDF Pure White I think it's called.

And If anyone want some pictures of Multi Body pose ability I'd be happy to take some photos!!

5. It's not scary at all! You just cut some wire that measures just less than wrist to wrist on your doll, and another that measures a little more than twice the length of a leg. Remember to cap the end of the wire with a little bit of duct tape or something just so it doesn't dig at the resin on the inside, and then you just thread it through right next to the elastic. I think I usually use 16 gauge wire for MSD size dolls, and the wire bends when you pose the doll and it holds the pose. I like it a lot.

6. if you don't have heavy enough wire you can also use lighter wire doubled. then the loop ends go down into the wrists or ankles and the ends are up in the bodies where they are less likely to dig in.

7. KisakiSama Just to let you know that your link is private, and I can't view it!

MilkTeaDolls Ohh, I recognize it now! Thanks! It's so pretty!
angelcallie I never thought of wiring my dolls, I always thought it sounded scary, too. It seems like a really wonderful idea, so next time I want to take some pictures, I'll keep it in mind!

8. PencilWolf Oops! Thanks for letting me know! Should be all fixed now :D

9. Thanks for the tip, I often wondered how it was done. Apart from making the doll easier to pose, does this stop the kicking as well?

10. KisakiSama no problem! Thanks for posting the pictures! :)

11. Yup! It's the best remedy for kicking I've ever tried. My Darae was super kicky before I wired her and now she can even hold poses with half-bent knees.

12. Thanks angelcallie, I will give it a go on my girl. I have tried restringing her, tightening, loosening, and nothing has worked so I was getting very frustrated with her and she's such a sweetie. :aheartbea

13. So have you guys heard of this website called How-Old.net? For fun I put my dolls through it, and it made me feel a little better about how old they were telling me I was! lol.

14. They all look super cute as always duskblue!!

15. Thanks, MilkTeaDolls! I need to take some new photos. lol.

16. Oh my gosh, that's hilarious! I wonder what markers they use to decide two of them are in their thirties and the other three have yet to reach ten!

17. Haha, I'm surprised about the two old ones! How does the program get so confused? Kiddelf dolls definitely look closer to 10 years old to me. :XD:

18. LOL, I don't know, angelcallie, but I have also wondered how they determine the ages. In other ones I've done, the two in their 30s came back as 5 or so, and once, Charis came back as in her 30s. So I think it may have flaws!

I agree, PencilWolf, they definitely look closer to 10 to me!

19. i just put one of my dolls through (ot to this thread) and it decided that he was four... and so was the rock beside him!

quinn (my bory) was upset since it also decided that he was a four year old girl. i couldn't figure out how to save the picture and post it like you did duskblue

20. LOL AUNTBEAR!!! 4 yr old rock XD thats so funny!!

21. auntbear, I did a screen cap of it since the program wouldn't let me save it either. After I did the screen cap (printscreen key), I pulled it up in photoshop (paint will work too if you don't have photoshop.) Then I cropped it and saved it :) My boys also came were "girls" according to this!

22. thanks, that makes sense. i've tried a bunch of dolls now and they all come out at 4 or 5, and the only boy i've got so far... was the rock.

23. It says Alice is 5!!! Well, she does have a pretty childish face even though her character is 16 XD

24. I need help! I just got a Luts Jamong Pegasus from a friend I am so in love with her I could not ask for a more beautiful amazing doll. I didn't get her fullset outfit. What do you guys do for clothes for your centaurs/pegasus? Are you having someone custom make them, are you custom making them, are you just using tops? I've never really had a fantasy doll like this before so I'm curious as to what you guys do. Thanks!

25. I think all of my friends with the centuar pieces are custom making/buying clothing for them, so sorry I'm no help. :[

So is anyone excited about the upcoming [or should be] summer event? I'm ordering an Arwen with my friend Spore, and I can't decide if I should hope I love the potential Event head or not. xD I only have plans left for a Pine girl, but.. if I love the head, who knows if it'll change. xD

26. kymchi - I got a cusotm corset from bunnyplusbee on etsy for my Yul...

27. @kymchi I've seen corsets are a really popular way to go, with a skirt! I've also seen centaurs in long dresses where the bottom of the dress kind of drapes on their back. Also commonly, a combination of a top + horse gear (like saddles) for the "bottom." You might get lucky and find some accessories from horse toys that would fit? But I think you'd probably have to commission anything other than a top/dress/high-waisted skirt.

Sorry, I don't own a LUTS Centaur, so I guess I'm not the most qualified person to answer this, but that's just what I've seen commonly. :sweat

@Fate I'm trying not to get excited for an event, haha. It's hard because the honey delf twins are soo tempting as a split and I really want a KDF Pine, too, plus an MDF body to replace my KDF Multi body. I swear, LUTS will end up taking all my money one day. But NO! I must save for my DollPamm girl. (Let's see how many dolls unrelated to this thread I can mention at once, haha :doh).

28. Would love to see some pics of your centaur wearing it, if you have any to share . . . pretty please. :)

29. Here's a photo of Hazel (my Yul) from a recent meet in a longer dress~ It's not her usual style but someone was selling doll goodies for $1 so she thought she'd give it a try. From head on you couldn't even tell she was a centaur~

30. That green dress is sooo pretty! I love her wig, too. So cute^^
More Laurel spam, just because I can, yo!

31. PencilWolf : I;m only excited this time around because I know I'm ordering something! I'm really torn on the heads though. Ic an't chose if I want to love them or not. xD I'm hoping to love a SD head more than a KDF, but.. God, all the kid delfs are so cute.. I'm going to doubt I'll dislike it when they come out with it.. I'm still hoping for a happy face/pine like face. With cute elf ears.
I totally recommend the model delf body though! I have a boy on one and it's soooo much love. If i I do love the kid delf head and end up wanting to keep it, I may end up buying a model delf girl to throw into my story. Why not keep adding characters? Haha.

Kelpie: Gosh, Laurel is so beautiful. I really can't wait to meet her in person!

32. Fate: I thiiink I migth bring her to AN and leave her in the hotel room so people can come and fawn over her, haha. Everyone seems to want to meet her.

33. Boussle: The green dress is very stylish and looks very elegant on her.

xkelpiex: Love your Laurel! Thanks heaps for the PM. :)

34. Boussole
xD I bought a bunch of $1 stuff from her too!
And your girl was adorable :)

35. Blah, I'm starting to think my TTYA stuff is stuck in customs... It's been over 2 weeks and I haven't gotten any tracking updates. Poor Alice, has been stuck in the same dress since I got her XD

36. That dress is super gorgeous Boussole! Also all these Yul girls are so beautiful. I wanted to buy the one in the MP currently but then I went for boy Yul instead.

I got a chance to get the head of ARU in a split, I'm so super exited! I had aru was my first doll but back then I didn't know how to take care of dolls properly and didn't like the face up of him either so I sold him. This time my new Aru is going to be a girl since all the girl photos of Aru are just divinely adorable! I'm so elated so I had to come and cream about it here :D

37. [IMG]

Do you believe in fairies? My Nadia (KDF Darae) does. :)

38. Xanadu Dolls beautiful photo, your Darae is a beauty. I'd like to believe in fairies s too :XD:

39. I need to get a normal skin body for my Yul girl head. Im kind of pondering how she would look on the MDF girl body? Do you think it would look good?

40. I've personally think a kid head looks quite nice on a model delf body, Yurikun. at least boy heads on MDF look like robust teens, so I'd believe a girl looked like a teen girl that has developed some nice shapes already

41. aren't model delfs the same size as kid delfs just on more developed bodies? i've often wondered why there are two separate threads for kid and model delfs actually when they are the same height and could share the same heads. i know the body types are different, but fairyland has a whole pile of different bodies in the minifees for both boys and girls and they are all on one thread.

42. I think it is mostly because the Model Delfs are designed to be mature minis, and the Kid Delfs, well.. kids! Also Luts has the Model Delf as being a separate category of dolls than the Kid Delfs. Though I understand where you are coming from... the romance bust really blurs the mature/immature line!

The Minifees are all mature bodies, just with different joint and muscle options, so they all get lumped together. Kinda like how the romance and small chested girls are all still Kid Delfs.

43. the torso is completely different i guess, ... but maybe it's more that luts doesn't allow for head swapping even though the heads should technically fit on either body type. the minifees you can use any head on any body even though the bodies have almost as many differences as the model and kids

44. Thank you, she was my first real BJD after Jax the rabbit. Ha ha! She still poses quite well, but I think she is just about ready for restringing.

45. You can head swap KDFs and MDFs using this My Choice option :) (They have 3 other my choice links for all other combos)

46. Xanadu Dolls - Your Darae is so beautiful! She has such a peaceful expression in your photo.

xkelpiex - Laurel is adorable, as always. :) I always love seeing freckled KDFs.

Boussole - Wow, that's a good deal! The dress looks super lovely on Hazel, especially the color.

Since I've last been on the thread, I managed to snag a Winter 2013 on the marketplace. I still won't be able to get the body for another month or two, but I sent it out to Darjeeling Aesthetics (peppercrushes) for an early faceup. She always does such amazing work, and I am so excited to eventually put my little grumpy boy all together.

47. Oh he is gorgeous!

48. BerryPeachy such a fine face up. I'd like to see how this head looks on a body, clothes and winged :)

I think I should restring my kdf too. I already ordered new a new string from Luts. Though I wonder, when do you actually know it's time to resting a kid doll? My Bory is somewhat loose but she can stand and hold a pose kind of.

49. I restring when the elastic looses that "pull" to it. When it becomes too easy to pull a hand away from the arm, or a foot from the leg. Sometimes just tightening works, but other times you just can feel when the elastic is worn out.

50. That's a useful tip! I should restring absolutely since I can pull any part too easily :XD: Thanks Tonboko!

51. Xanadu your Nadia is absolutely dreamy.

BerryPeachy, cute boy. Can't wait to see what you do with him.

And just wanted to spam one of my girls. Here is Encanto (Jamong).

BTW, my girls had a sleepover. Click HERE to see the pics.

52. Thank you so much, she is a dream to photograph. I just wish I was a better photographer.
Hey your grumpy boy is looking great! Can't wait to see him finished. :)

Thank you. Encanto is lovely, is that a default face up, or did you do it?
Great sleepover pics! I bet they are looking at boys on that laptop. :)

53. ShadowMist Your girl is so gorgeous!! The sleepover is really cute. I am planning to get a Jamong also, and seeing your girl in tan makes my heart waver in the choice of skin tones. // v // )

54. LOL. In my head I was thinking they were posting the pics of their slumber party but I guess pics of boys works too. Maybe they're favorite boy band or something? :). And yes, Encanto has the default face up. I can only WISH I could do face ups like that. :)

Thank you so much! She's actually my first doll in anything other than normal skin tone or white. I was only brave enough to get her as I did a trade for her and when I got her I couldn't believe how beautiful she was. I'm still learning to photograph her so my pics don't really do her justice. I was told she was in the brown skin tone but seeing other peoples pics I've suspected maybe she really is tan.

Does anyone have a brown and tan skin tone doll that could post a comparison pic for me?

55. ShadowMist hooray for more Jamongs!! I kind of want one in tan as well now... She's just so cute!

56. I've also been dreaming to get Jamong. She is my very favorit, especially with the angry expression face up. She looks so beautiful in tan, ShadowMist such cute slumber party! My kid delfs would want to join XD

57. i'm still waiting patiently for event head releases. They were released this week last year! [I feel like it's been getting later and later though with their events. Maybe it's just because I'm actually playing the waiting game this time! xD]

I've already been thinking about characters I may have to add/dolls i may have to buy in case I love teh event head and create a character for it [the whole I need balance thing.] xD I might go with a Litchi or Jadoo on a model delf if it comes down to me keeping said event head [if I don't want the SD one, I should add]

58. Thank you both so much! :) We definitely need more Jamongs out there. I can't believe she doesn't even have her own database yet. I almost requested one but the process seemed kinda detailed so I just quit halfway.

ShaySugar, your kiddos would be welcome! Only requirement is they bring their own sleeping bag. I ran out. :)

And just because I'm evil here she is again. Older pic, this is from back when I first got her.

Fate I'm also waiting patiently for the summer event. I can't wait to see what they come up with. I hope they put up something soon!

59. Ha ha, I think they know we are all waiting, maybe they won't do one this year. GULP!!

60. Hopefully they do! I'd hate for them not to....
