Luts Kid Delf Discussion part 12

Sep 17, 2014

    1. Hooray! I just finished my Summer 14's faceup! He's an apocolyptic zombie hunter. It was kinda hard to get his scars and cuts just right but doing the bruises was actually really fun. Does anybody have a KDF head on a MiniFee Moe boy body? I can not stand the KDF body so I'd probably want yo buy if a MNF body if I ever did get him one. Even a resin comparison would be great if you can Sjow me one.

    2. I'm hoping for a slightly grumpy, sweet boy! He needs a certain edge to him since he's a protector, and I imagine him to get slightly annoyed with Opal at times, but he's sweet enough to stay fiercely loyal... I CANT DECIDE D:

    3. I think Yuz and Bory can look really cute but also kinda grumpy. My suggestion is just get the one you prefer right now and just get it done before you become indecisive again (this is what I do when I buy dolls) You'll always be happy with your discission because after all you're gonna love him anyways <3

    4. a lot of that can be done with the faceup no matter which sculpt you decide on. and any of the three you mentioned would work especially well for that type of character so i really don't think you can go wrong whichever one you chose.

    5. Hmm that's true! Will keep you guys updated on the progress!!

    6. I definitely agree with the Grumpy Yuz and and Bory. I have them both if you need shots of them. xD my Bory is a trouble maker. Sort of has a dark side to him. my Yuz is a sweat heart really, but he does get rather annoyed and holds an annoyed expression really well.

    7. My Yuz definitely has a temper, but deep down he's a sweet guy who stands up for what he believes in :D

    8. Here's my grumps. Though Sora doesn't look all too grumpy today. Go figure. xD
      [IMG]

    9. [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] I did a little resin comparison a page or two back between 2014 Fairyland and LUTS NS resin! Hopefully that'll help. Unfortunately I know nothing about hybridizing the two.
[MENTION=67086]FluffleNuff[/MENTION] Can't wait to see which sculpt you do decide on! Bory is the one I definitely think of when I hear "grumpy protector". Definitely keep us posted, and post pictures when your loyal protector arrives (whatever sculpt he might be)!

    10. @Fate they are too cute!

      Edit: TTYA stuff has shipped!

    11. I contacted luts a couple days ago and they said my berry should be ready to ship out soon!! Yay i'm so excited

    12. congrats! new dolls are exciting

    13. Congrats! I hope your berry gets to you soon! :D

My little kitty anthro doll from another company will be getting here probably Monday, and I'm so excited! I waited over 5 months. Debating on whether making her a companion to my Anne, or if she'll stand alone.

    14. I love Berry, it's such a cute sculpt! Can't wait to see.

    15. Congrats on your Berry order! I totally love the sculpt. She is so adorable. Here is my Berry, Amaris:

    16. She's really pretty duskblue!

    17. Thanks!!! Im really nervous about getting her..i hope i fall in love with her..i will be sad if i don't bond well with her..
i can't decide what color i want her eyes to be TT TT or her name..I'm so nervous

your berry is so gorgeous..too bad they don't seem to be too popular :/

    18. Thanks, MilkTeaDolls!

I think you will love her, winxred12! I know I did the second I saw her in her box. And Luts gave me such beautiful eyes to go with her (I just think they're a tad big.) I Hope you can find the right color for your girl!

Heres my doll Alice. Apparently I can't post photos normally so please excuse the link XP Not sure if this is allowed, if not I'll take down the post.
Sorry for bad late night ipad pictures, I have tons of pictures on my DSLR that I want to get onto my computer soon.

    20. oh, she is super cute, milkteadolls!! <3

    21. Thank you~~ her wig is a total mess right now. Ahh, the struggle of curly haired dolls.

    22. [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] Your Alice is so gorgeous. Her lip is so cute ^ ^

    23. I Think my first BJD will be a kid delf, but I wonder which body you like most? I Think it's hard to decide...

    24. Between my roommate and I, we have all three KDF bodies in our place. Personally, I really like the multi-body. The range of poses is fantastic. It's worth the extra.

    25. Thanks :) Yeah, maybe I should buy the multi-body.. I just Think it's bad it costs more, but maybe it is Worth it ^^

    26. If you don't want to spend the extra money, I'd suggest the type 1, because you still get the third joint in the elbow that makes for a better range of motion.

    27. So my girl is waiting to be picked up at the post office, this whole process all went by so fast! I wasn't expecting her till like next month since i got the factory face up..but I'm sick so idk if i can make the drive..maybe my mother will pick her up for me..let's hope

i hope you guys are right and that i bond with her the moment i see her ww

    28. I agree that the multi body is the best. It's super sturdy. The only thing is if you want a smaller chest, you have to go with the type 1.

    29. I must have sora strung horribly then [but the tension is pretty tight so I don't understand.] His legs are sort of floppy and he won't sit up right like the rest of the dolls. Otherwise ,I'm glad that I did a split for this body. I wanted him taller than his twin and the rest of the bunch [until my model delf came along.]
Also his nipples are pointier than everyone elses. Anyone else who has the male multibody realize this? Lol

    30. I think the trick to getting the multi body to sit up is to adjust his middle torso joint. It will lock into place, and this allows him to sit more upright. I had that problem at first.

And now that you mention it, I think his nipples are pointier... haha

    31. Lmao they are! When I dressed him and my thumb, or something, ran over his chest I was like "..what the hell?" bfore comparing them to Kouji and his old body. Definitely pointier.

I do ad just his middle torso. I noticed its the only way he'll sit, but sometimes he looks kinda slouchy and it's not in his character. All the same, I have nor egrets on the body.

    32. I only have one but I'd think the multi body is the best choice. Though if you have the Money and are willing to do some slight modding, I'd go with a Minifee body. I really dislike the multi body, it could be that Alice is strung to tight but she doesn't hold poses very well and aesthetically the body is pretty blocky and childish, in my opinion .
@reitsuki Yeah she definitely has a pout! Thank you ~~

Is anyone else having problems with their multi body? I've unstrung Alice a couple times but she is still crazy kicky and won't hold a pose >:( is yours like this too?

    33. Now I'm scared of buying the multi body because people have problems with it.. xD

    34. My boy is also currently on a multi body and I really love it. Be stands very stable and holds poses very well. I think it depends on how tight the body is strung (I haven't restring him yet though). I agree with [MENTION=1200]KisakiSama[/MENTION] about the middle joint and I feel that Luts' msd bodies are very child like (which suits what I like) but other companies like withdoll might be better in posing and more mature bodies. ^ ^

    35. My Yuz was a bit kicky at first, but I did some hot-glue sueding and he's amazing now. Just a tiny bit of glue in the joints goes a long way for the KDFs. Luts has been stringing them fairly tight lately.

This evening I'll take pose comparisons of all three bodies and post them for anyone interested!

    36. My Berry is here~ she is so gorgeous I don't regret getting her at all, it was love at first sight really[IMG]

      http://40.media.tumblr.com/ce3c63e5f1e2f576a7fa0ebd9cf056a1/tumblr_nnhhfqiASc1rnbjv1o1_500.jpg

She is a kid delf Berry with a multi body.. I was so surprised on how big her chest is.. I wasn't expecting that at all.. her bites stick out through the shirt so I'm going to have to buy her a bra.

She is really kicky and hard to pose but I'm not going to even attempt unstringing her

    37. [MENTION=65606]winxred12[/MENTION] Congrats!! Your Berry is gorgeous and her hair is so beautiful!! ^ ^

    38. [MENTION=68934]reitsuki[/MENTION] thank you TT^TT she is isn't she TT^TT now I just need to come up with a name for her.. I use to have an idea for her character but after getting her I'm not 100% sure

    39. [MENTION=65606]winxred12[/MENTION] I feel you!! *hugs* I do that all the time and now my boy still has his company name..
Take your time and I bet any name you come up with will suite her. ^ ^

    40. @KisakiSama maybe I'll try suading her sometime... I'm just kind of scared to ruin her. Is it possible to peel the glue off after?
      [MENTION=65606]winxred12[/MENTION] She is adorable!

    41. @MilkTeaDolls:
      She's gorgeous, congratulations!

      @winxred12:
Berry is a lovely sculpt, congratulations!

    42. [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] I've had some problems with my Multi Body (girl) as well. She's kicky, but it's her arms that are the problem for me. They only hold a couple of poses. :\ I haven't restrung her, so that might be the issue. Perhaps kips would help as well? [MENTION=69659]strondie[/MENTION] If you're interested, I've done a full body review of the Kid Delf Girl Multi Body. I haven't posted it up on youtube yet but I go over the body in detail and express my likes and dislikes, as well as compare it slightly to a minifee body. If anyone's interested in seeing it, let me know and I'll post it asap (versus whenever I get around to it, haha). :)
[MENTION=65606]winxred12[/MENTION] She's so beautiful! :D Congrats! I love that wig on her.

    43. [MENTION=67085]PencilWolf[/MENTION] I have the same problem. Her arms go straight, 90 degrees and then bent fully, nothing in between. Another thing I don't like is the torso, she can't do that back arch lying down thing, if that makes sense XD

    44. [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] Yes! That is exactly my problem with the arms. I've even considered getting her a model delf body for her because those arms look like minifee ones, so maybe they won't be so frustrating and blocky. I dislike her arms that much. (Plus, then, I could get a smaller bust for her). I tried to ask the model delf form how the arms on that body pose but I just got crickets.
I know exactly the belly pose you're thinking of. That one I don't mind so much since it's not something I picture my girl doing anyway, but I do wish she could look back more. I like how she can twist her legs a LOT. That's the reason why I got the multibody to begin with. She's also really nice and sturdy when I get her on her feet. But, everything else is rather frustrating. Her arms tend to snap, too. They're either straight by her side, or all the way out, and not much in between with that, either.

Is anybody else who has the multi body experiencing these problems? How does it compare with the other (girl) body types?

    45. It feels like almost everybody have problem with the body and I don't want this kind of problem for my first doll so I might look for a minifee or a iplehouse jid instead ;)

    46. @PencilWolf @MilkTeaDolls - I wonder if it's a girl type problem? I haven't had many problems with posing the arms on my boy.

Oh, and [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] - Yes, the hot glue can peel off if you don't like it (or you can gently rub at it with something plastic to get it off as well).

@strondie - I have more problems posing my roommate's MNF, but maybe it's because he's older, I don't know haha. I don't have a ton of photos, but I have various poses of my KDF Yuz on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/crimson-butterfly/sets/72157650585130076
I also took some comparison shots of all three Luts boy body types but haven't had time to get them off my camera yet :sweat

    47. I would really like to see that on youtube! thanks :)

    48. [MENTION=1200]KisakiSama[/MENTION] Hmm... I don't know. It might be! [MENTION=69659]strondie[/MENTION] Alright, I'll get the video up! It'll take a little while because it's an 18 minute long video :sweat plus I'd like to take some pictures showing off what all poses she can do. I'll post a link once it's up!

    49. Thank you so much :)

    50. [MENTION=69659]strondie[/MENTION] All the MNF that I've ever owned (2 boys & 1 girl) have been super kicky and came too tightly strung :sweat
Also, in terms of quality, I'd suggest a KDF over a MNF at this point since Fairyland seems to be having quality issues lately..

    51. I wouldn't say anything negative so far about the [male] model delf body. I have my Kelp head on it, and omg. His posing is AMAZING. His ankles are kind of weak though so getting him to stand takes a little bit of practice, but otherwise I think its a great hybrid. His arm posing is GREAT. But he is a little too muscly to touch his hand to his lips. xD He can't bend his arm quite that way.

    52. [MENTION=69659]strondie[/MENTION] I'm having trouble with some of the video files, but I've got to go to work soon, so I won't be able to upload it until late tonight, sorry. :doh I don't have time to fix it right now.

As for MNF vs KDF, I'd go with the KDF, unless there's a minifee sculpt you're dying to have. There are more clothes for KDF because the multibody fits MSD size, which is the more common of a size compared to slim mini everywhere but on Etsy. Also, the quality is definitely higher. The KDF has more weight and subsistence to her. My KDF is shiny compared to my MNF, but she doesn't have bad sanding marks. As I say in my video, the MNF definitely has superior arm posability, but my KDF is a LOT sturdier and easier to get on her feet. The MNF is sturdy once you find the balancing point, but she's a lot harder to work with than my KDF. Her legs always get twisted around weird. (It's worth mentioning that my MNF has cutie legs). Basically, it's a tossup. Do you want good arm posability, or sturdiness in whatever pose you plop her down in? The MNF has a wider range of weird poses (I was able to balance her on her legs with her leaning all the way forward in a bow) but you've got to fight to get her in them. They've really both got their good points and bad points, but for a first time doll, I'd go with the KDF (they're cheaper, too :XD:).
Really, though, it depends on which aesthetics you like the most. Go with whatever company you like the face sculpts of more. They're both really great dolls.

    53. I have wired most of my KDFs to improve their posing and it really does wonders. I like it better than sueding, personally, because it really stops any kickiness and it lets the arms hold poses they wouldn't even be able to get with just sueding. It's also really easy to add, remove or alter at any time.

    54. I can tell you, as I was in your situation a few months ago, the multi body is amazing. My boy has it, and I'm in love. He looks nice, and he poses pretty nice as well, the only problem I have is the arms, but that can be fixed with wiring and sueding.

    55. How do you wire a bjd? Sounds kinda scary :o

    56. Thank you all, but I'm just confused about which one I should buy.. I like both Minifee's and KDF's.. I have to Think about it for a while.. :)

    57. [IMG][/url]Black and White by MilkTeaDolls, on Flickr[/IMG]

Heres another bad picture. I broke my ankle yesterday so I should have lots of time to upload something better haha

    58. [MENTION=67085]PencilWolf[/MENTION] That's oki of course. Take your time :) [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] Ohh, she is soo cute!! ^^

    59. try copying and pasting the bbcode that you'll find if you click on the arrow key to "share" your picture on flickr

    60. @strondie, there's no reason you can't eventually have both! I only have MNFs so far, but I'm planning to add a KDF to my doll family, hopefully this year. :)

I'm still trying to make up my mind on which KDF, though, so if anyone has any cute button-nose or round-nose sculpts to share, I can easily be enabled toward those sculpts.

EDIT: [MENTION=69629]MilkTeaDolls[/MENTION] (I hope I got that right), use the BBCode option from the share/link arrow on Flickr (and be sure to choose an appropriate size; the medium ones are usually suitable) instead of the direct URL, and don't use the "picture" box. Just copy that and drop it straight into the text box; it'll have all the appropriate code to make it work!
