Luts Grand Senior Delf Discussion

Currently I'm a bit unsure about the size of these dolls. I'm used to SDs around 60-65cm tall. I only have one doll that is 70cm and that is my DOI Luke. But I don't feel that he is too tall either though, so maybe 75.5cm won't be all that bad?

 

I too think they look a bit wonky. I'm wondering if the current heads they offer with them are the same size as their normal SD heads but with bigger necks? The heads look oddly small with such broad shoulders. I have an older SSDF Flood whom I've been considering getting the newer version SSDF body for but now I'm wondering if he'll fit on the GSD body since he has probably the biggest neck of all my Luts heads.

 

@BlankLucky Congrats on getting Saturn! I want to get him too but I can't choose between normal skin and brown skin. I got super excited when Luts released these big guys~ Hope to get one next year.

@Cap'n I agree that the heads look quite small. I feel like the face could be a bit longer or something. Anyway, I think they still look good and the body seems to pose well.

 

The head size is mainly now what keeps me from getting one, oneday. I once owned an Iplehouse FID and they just felt very pinheaded to me. Which I'm not the biggest fan of. I got the same feeling from these boys.

I just feel these boys would fit better in with the other Luts SDs if their heads were a bit larger as it would be a better fit for their body size. Also their faces could look more grownup, more mature. I second longer faces as opposed to the more round babyfaces. Longer faces. less round baby cheeks and sharper cheek bones.

I know I want more SD boys from Luts in the future, but I feel a bit safer going for a SSDF first.

 

@manabusama I feel you. I once owned an Iple boy and I didn't like his proportion.
But I'm so attracted to these Luts boys.I somehow think the proportion looks better than Iple I owned.

 

I actually do like the IH dolls very much. I do have an YID and SID boy. I'm fine with their head size. It were the FID that I had a bit of an issue with. Back when they first were released people also then pointed out they looked more pinheaded in comparison to the EID dolls. But I guess the GSDFs are a bit better. Still, their heads could have been a bit larger!

 

@manabusama I agree that the FIDs looked more pinheaded in comparison to the EIDs.

As for GSDF, I do hope Luts will release bigger heads in the future because the body looks so nice. I'd love to see more mature faces. This first release, I think Abadon's head is the biggest and Saturn is the smallest. But Jupiter's round face makes him look even smaller than the rest.

 

I definitely do like the idea of having a Luts doll with that big strong looking body, but they need to make some larger head options first as well. There is no doubt that they are very beautiful face sculpts though. Abadon I think is my favourite out of the three of them. Maybe he will be easier to get used too since his head appear to look a bit larger.

 

I just compared the SSDF body pictures with the GSDF body pictures. I like the SSDF head and body proportions better. The huge broad GSDF seem a bit scary and intimidationg to me because of the head and body proportions.

Or maybe it is because of how big the doll is that I feel that way, I'm not quite sure..

When I see them side by side like that, then it looks pretty good After all. But I´m definitely not ready for that size quite yet. I have yet to get a SSDF first. And at the moment I have to focus on getting my SDF65 Bliss his slenger body.

Edit: Actually I’m starting to think it’s just the size of the doll that kind of scaring me a bit. To me he’s like a titan

 

The GSD head does look the same size as the SSDF head but with a much bigger neck. That GSD looks nearly as thick as the head! Online it shows that the GSD has a 13cm neck too while the SSDF is only 9.8. Though I do like that GSD body, unless a bigger head could be hyrbid on, I think I'm gonna pass on it. :/

 

I think the body is way too tall and the proportion is way too off in my opinion. The heads do look nice but GSD Abadon head does not look the same as the original SDF Abadon? And how would the neck fit if I were to put GSD heads on different bodies? Curious. For example SD17 has girth of 12cm, GSD's neck girth is 13.1

it's like the gym oppa aesthetic where influencers Photoshop their head smaller to appear more swole.

 

I like the aesthetic of the body, and had been hoping for a slightly taller/buffer SSDF body . . . but I'm not sure if I want a doll quite this big. I'd probably get one anyway though, if only the heads were bigger. Proportions wise I feel like they won't fit in well with most other Luts big dolls, sort of like how Model Delfs have such small heads that they don't fit in well with most mature, stylized minis.

Still, nice to see Luts trying something like this! I will definitely consider buying one in the future if they ever release larger heads.

 

Lmao, that’s exactly what I thought when I saw the proportions! I mean... don’t get me wrong, I love me some CLAMP. But Im heartbroken the heads aren’t more compatible with the SD65, I think they’d look more balanced.

Saturn is so gosh dang beautiful, though. It’s surprisingly tempting. I’m just not sure I’m ready for the timeline where I also collect HUGE resin dolls so that one doesn’t look odd out of the bunch

...Also I can’t imagine finding the space for such a creature. I put one of my 60cm’s in a gown and feel like I need to clear a table to show them off already.

I agree, Saturn is so pretty. large dolls are fun even though i have zero room for more than.. maybe 5 of them, if i clear out all my books and give them the bookcase. but i feel this one would be out of place in any collection, maybe put them in football gears...

I've been thinking about getting him but the size makes me a bit unsure.
Most of my boys are about 72cm and I recently got a 56cm boy who is my favorite but looks so out of place with my others. Was considering getting him a msd "sibling" but then I saw Saturn

I'm not sure what it is about Saturn but he definitely oozes charm

 

I'm really liking Saturn as well I really like his eye shape, but his nose is too dainty for who I'd like his character to be. I like that this is kind of LUTS's ID75. I hope they will release more clothing and shoes for these bigger guys too!

 

Haha I'm currently watching JoJo's Bizarre adventure on Netflix, and I find their overly big and muscular characters kind of fun to watch

But the GSDF's size both scare me and have caught my interest at the same time!

But you've given me something to think about when it comes to being able to handle larger dolls at an older age. Too big dolls might become a problem for me to handle later in life.

 

I'd love to see more clothes~ And yes, Saturn's eye shape is LOOOOVE. When I saw his blank head photo, I got so many ideas! He has inspired me a lot.

I haven't played with big dolls for almost a year but I'd probably get him and play with him.

 

Wow, I think Saturn is my favorite too. Glad to see all the Saturn love! Love the head sculpt. He’s the one that draws me in the most. The body is really well sculpted too.
But these guys really seem as big as the Idealians though, and I don’t want too many big boys. Don’t tempt me Luts!

but oh boy, such huge bodies! the biggest boy I ever had myself was just 58cm, how do you even deal with a 75cm one?

I also think the heads could be a tiny bit bigger, they look a little small on the naked body. with clothes I think it's alright - it does give them a very bodybuilder like stature with the broad shoulders. not an easthatic I personally like, but not too bad I think.

 

This body is broad! I was comparing it to the Loongsoul 75, which I have, and the necks are 11.5 versus 13.1, shoulders 16.5 versus 20 and chests 33 versus 37.

that said, still small compared to the iplehouse HID man (14.5/23/43.4 neck/shoulders/chest), and surprisingly bigger than the soom idealian75 (13/19/36 neck/shoulders/chest).

I know I’ve forgotten at least a couple 75cm dolls, but being a little bigger than the id75 was shocking to me! Hopefullly this helps kind of put his size in perspective of any of you have dolls in those sizes/have seen dolls in them. Makes me intrigued about hybrid potential for idealian heads...

Could possibly work as an EID man hybrid, because the model neck is 12.8/18cm shoulders/35.8cm chest. This body is big.

 

Thank you for that link! My SDF Howl head does fits well on SD17 body though. Perhaps GSDF heads might fit on SDGou? Or even Dollstown 17 boy body?

EDIT never mind. DT17 neck girth is 10.2 cm ONLY (so narrow) so that wouldn't work at all.

 

I love the GSDF version of Abadon head... but still struggling if I can handle such a large doll, he is half height than me!!
At first I was thinking if he will compactable with the SSDF body, but LUTS' tweet told me it is not possible...
comparing the SDF version, I still think GSDF version is more cool

@karasness Yes, GSDF is such a big doll but I bet they're cuddly.

Also...I failed to notice Abadon head in GSDF version is not the same as smaller ones. My eyes...

 

I made the mistake of looking at the site and discovering GSDF.... I've been hoping they'd go into this size range. My boy's lover is supposed to be quite a bit taller than him and Saturn in brown would be the perfect humanized doll for it.
The heads looked a bit small, but I think the right hair and outfit would make it fine... welp... saving up for a new bed is now on the back burner I think... I never think to go through a dealer... y'all got me thinking.

 

Their heads do seem to be a bit small for their bodies, but I'm also in love with Saturn. And Abadon. That must be the best version of him. Oh dear. I just managed to reduce my wishlist to make it more reasonable... Well, nevermind. Back to greedy!

 

Just went on the official Luts site and found out they are now producing these big boys! I have always wanted a big Luts boy! So I came on DoA to try and find what people thought about them. Seems like Saturn is a fave, and actually, I think the next doll I purchase may just be Saturn, sometime next year, if I don't find another doll that I want more than him lol. My wishlist dolls change position in regards to "most wanted" all the time, haha.

People here seem to be a bit put off by the size of their heads, but to me, the proportions seem OK.... maybe I just have skewed vision, but I LOVE the body and the Saturn head! Love the big, broad shoulders and slim waist! They are all so handsome! I am just worried about how to find clothes for them that aren't Luts, because the size of these guys are so different to other dolls I have compared them to, based off of the measurements Luts has given us, that it may be kind of tough to find the right size of clothes for them. Anyway, I am watching these Grand Senior Self guys so closely!

These guys look so lovely and I live this size!!

After looking at these new cute guys, they don't seem small headed at all. but they do have all their facial features scrunched together. Their proportions are roughly 8 heads so Luts must be going for a more realistic touch. I guess everyone is used to the large headed doll look that realistic begins to look unrealistic -

 

Wow...I totally forgot about the clothes. I should start buying some clothes or my boy would have to sit naked for weeks after his arrival.

 

I told myself I was going to wait until the New Year so I could really think it over... but after a few days of staring at Saturn constantly I broke down. Luts always wins over my self-control... not that I'm complaining. I'm considering Abadon in the future too, but I really can't wait to see what other boys they put out.
The only outfit he'll have for a long while (probably) is the Classic Return site off of Luts site... doesn't stop me from window shopping though!

When you need Abadon in your life, but you just bought 3 large dolls this year. I might just buy the head to be honest and then struggle for the next year to find a body for him.

Abadon is really handsome; it was hard for me to choose between him and Saturn. What skin color will you get for your Abadon head? Also, I believe Luts will release the GSDF body after the Winter Event has ended, so it wouldn't be so hard to get a body for him I think.

 

I was caught between Saturn and Abadon too, but Abadon's attitude won me over. I'll be getting the normal skin for him. Do you mean to say they won't re-release the body? I'm wondering if actually a megagem soom body will fit better, the heads look a little small on the GSD bodies. Issue will be finding skin colours that work.

 

I saw on Luts clothes page, it says that GSDF is ID75... Like, when going to a clothing item, they have a table. And in that table, GSDF was stated as GSDF (ID75)

Love the look of these new big guys. The proportions seem alright to me. Looking forward to seeing the hybrids people make as I'm interested in the body for a potential hybrid for my Souldoll Tera-Zenith Cratos head.

 

Choosing between Saturn and Abadon really was hard... so basically I've accepted that down the road, Abadon will probably be coming home too. I'm both excited and scared to see what other boys they'll release in the future. It seems like Jupiter doesn't have the popularity of the other two. He doesn't pull at me but he also seems baby faced vs the other two,which is less appealing to me for a doll that size.

 

I'm excited to see so many people ordering these guys. I certainly would love to see some owner pics of the new GSDF boys. @Apricotkiss I noticed too Jupiter hasn't had too many takers. His very weak and round jawline make him look a little odd on that thick neck and beefy body. I think he'd look much more fitting on a slender SDF65 bod. However, I'll reserve my judgements until some start coming home.

Personally Abadon is my fav of the 3, but I'm holding out that they make an older beefier GSDF Dion to join my expansive (albeit concernedly obsessive) Dion crew.

 

@Dybbuk I agree completely, he's too delicate for the GSDF body but SDF65 could definitely work well for him. I feel kind of bad for the poor guy not getting in on this love fest haha. I'd really like to see how he is in the real world and not staged - its crazy how different they are.
As for Dion -Its just called dedication! You can't go wrong with perfection.

 

@Apricotkiss : I know...it feels like that one member of the boy band that has the least fans! But yes, seeing them in owner pics will make me appreciate them more. Saturn in particular I'm curious about if he was in one of their special skins, what skin color did you get yours?~ He looks so smoldering, but I would like to see him with different/darker makeup. But then again... maybe I don't to avoid buying more giant dolls I don't have space for.

hahaha! It is dedication. I just love how they lightly modified the Abadon mold for GSDF.... my mind is running away with me if they did it to Dion. I hope they bring back the special skins though... T_T

 

@Dybbuk Yes, that's the feeling ahaha! I got him in the RSN but I was SO close to getting Saturn in Tan or darker but the character wouldn't make sense if I did... but I keep thinking that in the future if I don't find another boy to use the darker skin tones with then I'll have to find an excuse for another Saturn. *cough*
I love what they did with Abadon, I had the original but didn't quite click... but the GSDF Abadon is so lovely; I feel like he's puppy dog eyeing me to bring him home too. I'd love to see a Dion as well! I think they could make him fantastic workign with the vibe of GSDF.
More events with these skin tones would be fantastic... I'm glad they do the fantasy colours sometimes because I know a lot of people love them... but I'd really love to slowly put in more variety of realistic skin tones to my group; I love the offers this round. If I wasn't broke now I'd snag some pretty boys who get sunshine...

 

@Apricotkiss : Ah yes... I've faced the same conundrum when "Character is x color...but I love the aesthetic of this color." However, I think LUTS will probably re-offer the colors. I know they released the fantasy resins again, and these new tans are so lovely. Perhaps your future GSDF Abadon lol

I'm going to sit tight for now although they were tempting when first released, but I already have too many projects on the table. Plus knowing Luts they'll have another event in spring and who knows what they'll be rolling out.

 

I would fall for Dion's charm if he would ever come in GSDF size! Cane is also a nice sculpt that I hope he would come in GSDF size. I think his features would be even more interesting when refined to fit the look of this big, buff body.

 

I totallyagree! Cane definitely has the jawline to rock the GSDF body. Here's to hoping for some revitalized ol' boys
