Lumedoll 30cm discussion part 1

Lumedoll makes great sculpts,very delicate.
Maybe this thread should be in the Tiny section, like the Minigems?

What's too bad is that its very hard to find men clothes at this size (not really fond of Mattel's Ken clothes). I have a few dollfie+ Neo-Go from Volks, and except Volks and Azone (quite expensive and not easy to find especially in Europe), I'm always searching cool clothes for them. ;_;

 

Oh man! I am always excited to see more boys in this scale. I love it so, but really I'm a boy collector at heart, so the fact that it is so female dominated has always worried me slightly.

I'm a little concerned as to what his eye size will be. They look smaller than my SoulLittle Kimmy's and he's got 6mm eyes. How much smaller can you go?

His body is to die for though Such shapely little arms.

And I hear you, Algesiras, about the not liking Ken clothes problem. Why do they always seem to have glitter on them?

Wow, he's sexy. As for his face, it might just be the way he's painted Azraelita you can do so much with her sculpts just by painting. I'm loving this mature 1/6 trend.

As for clothes have any of you tried Dollmore? They have their own line I believe of 1/6 dolls. Well on the site their 16in dolls are 43cm. Me might swim in their clothes but then again he might not depending on his shape. Worth a try I would say. When he comes out that is.

I bought a few action figures clothes for my Neo-Go and they are really cool but only the tops fit. The pants are too short & large (the Neo-Gos have longer legs and are slimmer than the action figures). The shoes are big but they can be worn. I wonder if this guy can wear them!

Searching in Google I found a russian journal with more pictures of Koit and a 27cm Lumedoll girl!!! (I didn't found this pictures in Lumedoll website o.o).

Both bodies are amazing!!!

 

Oooh I don't have to imagine it, I have a tan Lumedoll right here! The color is gorgeous, very cool and dusky, but not greyish, and not orangey at all.

 

That settles it, I have to have at least two-to go with my PD minis. Oh and for clothing- I found this yesterday, She does custom wool trousers. drool For casual wear Newline miniatures.

You know, that body looks like a shorter version of my OD Tae's body. Hmmmm.

 

I love Elin!!! Oh yes, she will be coming to live with me!!! Just in case anyone was wondering, I aske Lumedoll, whom proptly responded, what color resin was in the website of Elin and what size clothes would she wear. Here was Lumedoll's respone:

Wow, finally, all those man-hungry 1/6 girls out there can do the dance of joy! Koit is absolutely gorgeous. And what a sweet little body.

So, if the girl can wear standard 1/6 type clothes, does that mean the boy can too? Like Tonner clothes, or wherever else it is that those Fairyland Chicline guys shop? - His shoulders seem broad for it. But he is pretty sylphlike. I have zero experience with this size, just very curious. He has cast a bit of a spell on me.

 

The Tonner clothes I have are all MSD size, and this is more a Ken size so clothing is going to be a bit of a challenge I think.
For the girls it's actually quite a relieve (I have a Sara ToYou which is also 27cm) since she will probably fit in some Blythe/Momoko clothes and theres tons of that for very little money (Etsy is your friend!). The boy though.... Richila posted a link somewhere for Newline Miniatures:Newline miniatures. It's an action-figure line with mostly WWII uniforms but I heard the quality is wonderful.

Man this size is addictive, they're like the PocketPolly's of mature resins...

And isn't there also a male Huyoo or something..? I know Huyoo has a smaller body then Riz or ToYou but my Etsy search for Ken also gives me Taeyang as a doll fitting the same clothes as Ken. Does anyone own/know him?

I'm not sure about the Newline Miniatures stuff, honestly. I bought some, intending to use it for my Kimmy, and it's hugely oversized for that purpose, to the point where I'm pretty sure I could get some of the pieces onto a Yo or even a slimmer MSD. It's beautifully made, though. And maybe the Koit will be big enough to wear it, although I have my doubts.

Really, fitting mature tinies is always a crapshoot, and I wouldn't be comfortable claiming that some line of clothing will or won't fit until I have the doll in hand. Azone makes a line of men's clothing which might fit--and honestly, some of the Azone girls' clothing fits the Kimmy really well--and Volks has really nice 27cm clothing for male and female dolls under the Who's That Girl? line. Ken-doll clothes seem okay, too. I'll be sure to make another post once I have my Koit in hand and can stuff him into everything in my box of tiny clothes.

 

This is the Newline page for other eras and they have added slim fit jeans. Woo Hoo! I will make a few things, but I don't have the patience to make pants as nice as theirs. They also have lots of leather boots and even lace up shoes that will it him. The quality is wonderful. I have one of their full western outfits and the duster is lined and the buttons work.

Gallye I think it will fit because I have some pieces on the 27cm slim male obitsu body and the only place it was an issue was the waist and a belt took care of it. But, then a little baggy is okay with me if I don't have to deal with velcro. I can always add some darts to tailor it to his body if it bothers me.

My son felt sorry for me and let me put a wig on him and some clothes. The slim fit jeans from Newline Miniatures work well. I will post pictures once I get them uploaded. He is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to blush those abs-I couldn't bear to put a shirt on him-he has an open jacket on. I need socks for his biker boots so they won't stain his feet.

I got her darkest realskin. The whole house belongs to Shriara-my Planet Doll Mini Roseanne that I have modded. She lets everyone else live there and Koit, who has told me his name is Dima, has a bed waiting- once I get his linens made.

 

So far, I have a livingroom, kitchen, bedroom and study for her. There are pictures in my Flickr-but it is unorganized.

My Koit arrived today!!!!!! He is STUNNING in person, (the detail on the hands and feet? amazing!). I'll be posting box opening pics in a day or so. But, oh are those of you waiting for christmas to open yours in for a treat

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of wig this little guy is in need of...and I'm thinking I might actually go with 4-5mm eyes if I can find ones I like, (the 5-6mm silicones I have work, but I'd like a smaller iris I think)

But...squeee! I love this boy!

 

I will have a proper play tomorrow but they are awesome. So luminous , so graceful and easy to pose. This is all I had time for today. Momoko dresses and tops and skirst fit wonderfull. Blythe shoes are also great

 

Liv Dolls have started putting out boy clothes in anticipation of their upcoming boy, Jake. These clothes will fit a slim obitsu male. I am hoping they fit these boys as well. I am checking my local stores and will let you know.

 

It looks like I'm going to have to make a trip to Target.

I got my boy yesterday, he so cute with his little angry face. He fits Ken clothes perfectly. Well at least the prom tux that I got from Barbie (it's the one with the pink blazer.) The shoes fit also, but they are tight.

 

My boy fits Ken shorts and tops. Glad to here that he jackets fit too, I just ordered him some from ebay.

 

He is pretty much Ken sized, just a bit longer in the leg but you may need closer fitting garments for your fabulous idea. Cant wait to see what you do with him.

 

I am so, so tempted! Does anyone have a picture with a PlanetDoll? I'm sure the heads won't match, but I'd like to see the difference.....

Lucas somehow fell into my basket. Poor Jin (Koit) is in for a nasty shock I think.

They are very elegant dolls Jen. My Kiki (Elin) stands very well. She holds a pose nicely for something so small. I get a bit frustrated with her legs, sometimes they spin so she goes knock kneed and I wish her arms were double jointed so she could touch her own face. Having said that, the resin is ethereal. It just glows, she is so pretty, is easy to clothe and shoe.
I am very happy with her.

I'm seriously considering getting a Koit. I fell for him the second I saw him when he first was released. I plan to have him paired up with another of my dolls in a mostly best buddy way that sometimes turns to a friends with benefits thing. To that end, the character he'll be with is sometimes the size of a 6 year old and sometimes the size of a teen and I wondered if anybody here happened to have a MNF boy and one of these darlings and could take a pic of them side by side.

I measured 30cm against my MNF and it appears that Koit's head will be about nipple level (which I'm totally fine with as I've another doll couple with that kind of height mis-match), but I'd like to see the actual dolls side by side if possible.

 

Sorry, I dont have a MNF to compare.

Blythe shoes /boots fit perfectly Lati yellow shoes also fit her. She is very easy to find things for. Congrats to you Jen!

Thanks T4124! I have fur wigs you can try out on your boy-they weren't right for Dima-ie he didn't look like the picture in my head-but the smooth wig really suits him. I also have the Monique 4-5 Johnny in Auburn and Black if you want to try those.

My Blaze arrived today! I got him in the light flesh color with the new big muscular body, which is awesome, except that I have no pants that fit him.

He's actually got an open mouth and little TEEF oh man I love dolls with teeth. He looks so derpy. I took a couple of quick and absolutely terrible snapshots, the best I could get after dark with a point-and-shoot camera:





He's borrowing my poor Koit's wig because everything else I have in his size is terrible. The tank top fits him like a dream--I think it's an Azone men's top.

Is he wearing the Azone that fits FR boys or the Azone that fits slim obitsu? I bought Action figure clothes for him. He has khakis and a white oxford cloth shirt waiting, along with laceup dress shoes. I am ordering Azone ties tomorrow. Congrats, Gallye! How exciting. Ok, the wig does look a little out of place on him, I think because of the face up and how light it is. Are you eventually going with a light-colored wig for him? That shirt fits perfectly, though. Too exciting. I need to sell something in my shop so I can pay off my Lucas...

The tank top came from this line of Azone male stuff, which looks like the FR size? The shirts fit great, but I have no pants from that line to compare, so I'm not sure if they would work. He does have some bulky thighs going, poor dude.

I did some concerted digging in my wig box last night and came up with a light brown Monique Johnny wig which seems to suit him pretty well. It's a little bit of a hair bubble, but not as terrible as some, and the color is definitely better on him. I'll try and take more pictures later today.

 

Yep, those are the eyes Blaze came with! I think they're 6mm green acrylics? Really, when they get that small, the difference between acrylic and higher-end eyes is pretty small.

I wrote to Lumedoll to ask about the wigs and clothes shown on the website, and Eva wrote back to let me know that the best wigs that she's found so far for the Lumelights are the 3-4 Glib wigs that MuDoll sells. She also hinted that she's working with a wig factory now and that she hopes to have Lumelight-sized short boy wigs to sell soon--I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that!

As for Blaze's pants problem (hee) she says that the best fits she's found for the muscular v.2 body so far are clothes made for male action figures by TTL/Toys City and Triad Toys. Apparently TTL pants are skin-tight on the v.2 body and loose on the original body, which is just what I need all around! (She also says that clothing by the Crazy Owners company is too large.)

Off to spend money!

richila, the slacks are long enough? They've got some cool things. I really like the men's dress shoes. eBay also has a ton of stuff if you do a search for 1/6 clothing or action figure clothing. Several stores carry action figures and clothing/accessories for them.

Urk! Just found these while looking for something else: 1/6 scale model camera with interchangeable lenses
and a Canon 4G flash drive For anyone who has a photographer dolly.

 

I got a box full of action-figure clothes in the mail today, and... damn, I could not be happier. This is the best I've done for mature-tiny clothes in ages! I bought everything from Good Stuff To Go, because they're located in the States and could therefore get me my stuff faster.

Almost everything I got was TTL/Toys City and ACI Toys--I looked through the Triad Toys stuff but didn't end up getting anything from them.
- These TTL jeans fit the bigger v.2 body very well, but are maybe a hair too short in the leg.
- This TTL jacket is pretty sweet, although it kind of slopes over the shoulders where I was hoping for a sharper fit.
- These ACI jeans are just a tiny bit too big, particularly in the waist, but the detailing is lovely and the belt can be used to rein in the waist.
- These ACI shoes are awesome and a really good fit, although they gap a bit at the back of the ankle.

That's my Lumedoll Blaze with an SD16 boy, an SD13 boy (the one he's standing astride of), an MSD boy, and an SDGr boy hybrid.


And that's him next to my Kid Delf Bory, who was not impressed.

Are they the TTL jeans or the ACI they look great on him. I am worried my incomming Lucas is not going to fit in any of the pants that I have for my Koit

Would somebody be able to take a shot of one of these boys standing with a MNF (or a similar sized MSD)? I'm pretty much sold on Koit to be a character of mine, but a visual of the height difference/proportions would be awesome.

 

I took a picture of my Koit, PD Dandy and OD Tae together standing. My Tae has been modded to be be shorter-36-37 cm tall rather than 40.

Hi gang! After much anticipation, my Lumedoll Arine (aka-Antoinette) arrived on Saturday morning 4/30/11. I had 2 other dolls show up too but chose to open Antoinette first. I must say I was extremely unimpressed with her. Almost to the point of tears.

I ordered her in the medium flesh, real skin resin and paid xtra for the face-up (since her website pix were so lovely). In other words, I ordered her with the works. Her face-up could not have been more basic and she looks nothing like the one Eva shows in her promo shots. To me she looks like a $300 Barbie and I am not bonding with her.

She came with tiny, bright blue, acrylic eyes which I promptly switched out for a pair of gray glass eyes. The wig I already had.

She was intended to go with a Dragon Model Jointed horse and be dressed in Victorian riding attire. I had an English Side Saddle custom made for the horse and her but she is about an inch too small in scale to make this work. (Another disapointment)
I'm going to end up having to re-do her face-up myself. Perhaps I will like her better after that.

She can wear Barbie clothes but not the shoes. I am still trying to find something that will fit her feet. Eventually, I will make a Victorian outfit for her but for now I have no desire to even look at her. But, you all might want to see her, so here are a couple pix of her and one from Eva's website so you can see my pain.

 

Oh no, I'm so sorry for your disappointment. I've had experiences like that. The good news is that it can turn around!

I think at least some of the faceup difference is because of the translucent resin. I have noticed the same type of thing with many companies. Somehow it makes things look lighter and clearer. I'm sure you can compensate for that when you do your own faceup. It sucks that you already paid for one, but in my experience, painting her youurself is a huge step in loving the doll, so it could turn out to be a good thing!

About the horse scale difference - can you show a picture? Sometimes scale differences come across differently in photos, and it might cause you to see the set differently. I'm sure you know a lot about correct horse size and scale, but to someone like me with absolutely no experience I bet it looks just great. Plus the act of getting everything put together and taking photos helps me bond, always. And I've really been looking forward to seeing your Dragon horse.

Again, totally understand how you feel. I really hope that fades and you have a better experience. *hugs*
