I don't do any blushing myself but I do know that there are sealers that shouldn't change the look of the doll. And ALL parts of my particular boy are blushed so he is completely sealed (but from the factory). Try asking Mint on Card for advice. They are dealers for LS and some of the MoC owner/workers have LS dolls themselves (I don't know who they might be on here if they are).
hmm thats a good idea...I was also thinking of sealing one of the antlers to see how it looks next to the unsealed resin. If the difference isnt too great Ill just seal his head, hooves and horse tail, the parts I planned to blush. I plan on keeping him in a cabinet anyway so i dont think he'll get too dirty...
Hi again everyone! I ordered my tan Beck a month ago so I'm super excited for his arrival. I love looking at everyone's centaur pics in here! I'm curious, what size wigs and eyes do you guys use for yours? I was thinking 5/6 for his wig, but it's a bit questionable since his head is just above 6". Picking out clothes for centaurs is kind of an interesting experience as well. At least you never have to worry about pants! Even shirts are pretty much optional :P
uhm it entirely depends on where you get the wig from... size can be iffy... I have dolls with 8-9 size heads that wear 7-8 wigs form some companies... so ya check with other owners for recommendations on what fits best and where to get them. If you find a wig you like try to find someone who owns from the same maker to see how they fit. You will avoid owning a pile of 'wigs that should fit but don't'. my little guy is 'really' little ... only a 4 I think so I can't help here ;p
My billy wears a 6-7 wig, and it fits nicely. No extra stuff needed to keep it from slipping off or anything. He's off getting painted right now, but I'm looking forward to seeing more centaur pics in here and posting a zillion photos of him when he returns home!
Enyu got ready for the 'Easter' shoot but only he got a chance for pics the rest didn't get in on the shoot. And the reason the rest of the gang didn't get in on it.... ;P Take 5? by DoA Lady Tiku, on Flickr Happy Easter all anywho ^^
AWH! Enyu is soooooo cute! Too bad everyone else couldn't get in on it, but hey, Cat gonna Cat. He's a cute fluffy beastie though
That picture of Enyu is so freaking adorable!! I need to get Geki out for some pictures, it's finally getting warm so I can get some outside pictures!
I love it! Enyu is so dapper in his little outfit. And looks like kitty just wanted a piece of the photo action :P
Ooooh! I am so excited! I just heard from my artist, and Edward will be home this week from his blushing Woo!
YES! yes you do! Get snappin'! These threads need more spam! ^^ TY I just love that he can wear the 'old' body fit Ken Doll clothing! They could use some minor alterations but it's not like I can't get away with 'how' I shoot them lol. And Maxie just wanted 'her' nap spot back... I leave that spot open for doll shoots but when I'm not using it Maxie sleeps there a lot ;p Yay! more critters for photo spam soon! ^^
Edward is home! YAY! I'm so happy with how he came out, and ofcourse thrilled to have my little prince back home!
oh my word that is a spectacular job!... And I want to know who your artist is that did the body! A dapple grey is what I want for my giant Chiron some day. My Enyu's fullset outfit would be so cute for Edward, with minor differences since I think 'silvers' would be more complimenting but the basic vest, 'skirt thingy' and arm/leg decorations... ya would be soooo cute... Seriously if I could sew I'd make one for you lol.
I had it done by neonraver247. She's amazing! This is the 8th doll I've sent to her to be painted I bet it would totally make her day to have someone say they saw the centaur and wanted to get something painted sometime! I'd love to see a picture of Enyu in his fullset outfit! Maybe it will be inspiring enough for me to sew one myself! What a lovely thought, thankyou so much. And I really appreciate the compliments on Edward. I'm just smitten with him! Please enjoy MOAR EDWARD!
No problem... ^^ from his first day home when he got his first 'special freind' & being a 'cat' playing with the ball on his outfit... under a chair... up on a shelf... typical cat behavior. ^^ if you click on the pic and then on his page click the 'tag' "baby white tiger ye" all of his stuff will come up including LS's promo pics which show his outfit better lol ^^
Enyu is so cute! And thats great outfit I will definitely have to make something for Edward inspired by that! I love how fluffy it all is.
the vest is essentially the same as you could have got with your boy where you could have had the 'saddle' type drape and a belt type mine is more just a skirt... but the back flap would lay on the back of the pony body nicely I thing... for anyone who can sew it would be stupid easy...
Wow!! Edward came out so gorgeous I love his one white hoof; that's such a cute detail! Ahh, I'm so impatient for my centaur to arrive now!
this is my first time posting in this thread, i wanted to introduce my newest edition to the family, Byakko:
omg she's gorgeous (and still so snowy white ><) how did you get her? (curious since they are a sold out LE item). I got mine 2nd hand from a local club member but I'd kill for a 2ns one lol Enyu say HI
omg I knew she was familiar! You got KitKat! >< aaaahgh... you lucky lucky bum lol... she has an die hard admirer in my Enyu! see!? he's her fan! lol Enyu - 20140122 (5) by J L, on Flickr
I know this thread isn't too active, but I thought I'd give my request a shot... Does anyone happen to own a 1/6 Loongsoul and a 1/4 Loongsoul? I'd love to see how they compare. Actually, I'd love to see how a 1/6 looks next to any mini. Any help/opinions would be appreciated!
if 1/6 is the ·Naivete(26-27 cm) size I have the baby white tiger and BID/KID & JID sized Iplehouse dolls (BID roughly = the tiger, KID is 34.5 & JID is 43 cm... personally I think they go well to gether size wise but it depends on what kind of a look you want. you can surf my flicker. and see how he fits in with my Iples and soul doll (think my Enyu sitting on the giant centaur is adorable personally) but go to my albums... he has his own and then click the tag "Enyu" and get him and other dolls.
046 by AmayaBambi, on Flickr It's not the best picture, but it is my 1/6 LS Ye and my 1/4 LS Elsa. and the other 2 dolls are Soom 1/4. I hope this helps @PeppermintPocky
I shall take a look at Enyu's album! Thank you! AHHHH! Thank you, thank you, thank you, @AmayaBambi! That is exactly the proportion I was hoping for. I've been wanting to buy a 1/6 LS boy but was unsure how old he would look next to my 1/4 LS Momo. Perfect!
Hi tiny LS fans, its been a while since I posted here! So I have some questions I hope you could help me with... I bought a LS tiny centaur last year but its only now that Ive had a chance to put him together (I know, how could I wait a year!? Just never have time!) I was trying to get his front and back half together last night. I was successful, sort of ...I had to use 2 of the extra hooks provided to be able to reach the tail to hook up to the elastic, but now I have a centaur kid with a wobbly middle. Is that normal or am I supposed to use less hooks and just pull more? also, is his head supposed to just sit there on his neck without anything holding it there securely? its very loose and will fall off if turned upside down. thanks and sorry for the duh questions, Im still a newbie!
The head shouldn't just sit loose on the neck. There should be an S-hook that sits on the neck and holds the string running up and down through the body. That S-hook should be pulled up through the neck hole and twisted, so that it sits inside the groove in the head. That will keep the head in place. For the torso - I don't have any centaurs for comparison, but I would guess that you're right about needing to use fewer hooks and just pulling the elastic more. For most dolls, you generally only have one hook at the end of a limb - e.g. hands, feet, head, and tail (if applicable).
thanks! I got the head down now! I was able to figure out how to join the body too! I was so happy! but then when I unhooked the tail again, one of the loops that holds the centaur front torso from the human body slipped of the hemostat I used to hold it! aaagghh! what a nightmare! It was really difficult to get it back through that tiny hole in the middle of the front centaur body! the shoe lace I was using to pull the elastic through was too thick to go past the hole, which was already crowded with the elastic holding the other doll parts. To not make this too long, I ended up having to use craft wire to push up through the hole & pull the lace with the elastic out through the other end. Took me about an hour, lots of hard pulling ,flying resin bits, sweating and cursing why I even thought I should get one of these dolls in the first place. Lol! what gave I gotten myself into!
LOL. It gets easier with practice. My stringing kit is 2 pairs of chopsticks (or skewers for a smaller doll), thin ribbons, and a paper clip rebent into a small hook (to pull the ribbons through the stringing channels). Honestly, you're a step ahead of many new hobbyists, who are too daunted to even try restringing.
well that was an emergency but Id like to avoid stringing as much as possible, but Im sure the more dolls you get, the more it will be inevitable. I used a pencil I had nearby to keep the other elastic in the centaur torso in place while i was trying to get the runaway loop out of the doll's chest with the hemostat .The shoelace(& the hemo as well) I had b/c I had read about it coming in handy for restringing but Im gonna need something thinner than shoelace for tiny sized dolls. another thing, I was very careful with my doll when I would remove him from the box to look at him and take his pieces out for painting(I gave him a face up and I have the tail and hooves ready sealed for painting). But while dealing with my "emergency" two nights ago, while I tried to do my best to be careful with his handling, having his limbs wrapped in bubble wrap and all that, it came a point where he required rough handling by me. The bubble wraps came off during the process & the hemostat and hooks would keep scratching the resin inside. I dont think I got any chips outside but I wouldn't be surprised if he suffered some scratches or 2 from the limbs rubbing together. I hated that I couldn't be more gentle with him but there was no way I was gonna get that elastic back to its proper place if i treated him softly.
Is anyone here has Shao Yue? I love her face. She looks so cute and pure. I want to see owner's pict of Shao yue if anyone has her.
Looks like Loongsoul is going to get my dolly-money this summer. I'm trying to resist buying their new little girl, Little Xiang, but with the summer sale going on, it's hard to not give in! I think she's so adorable with that little pout. She looks like a spoiled little princess, doesn't she?
Can anyone tell me about the posing for the 26 cm body? I have a Loongsoul Autumn Yue (on the 42.5cm Girl Body B-G42-03), and the joints snap into place very nicely, with grooves to accomodate different angles. Does the 26 cm body have similar jointing, or more typical joints that don't snap and hold into place? Thank you in advance
@CaladhielTan I have got LS Tinboo (B-26-01 body) and she is a very good poser. Stands well, holds the positions well. I cannot compare it to the 42cm body, I don't have any, but in general, all my LS dolls pose well.
Did anyone ever get a Little Xiang? I looove the little pout but don't know much about the loongsoul dolls
I haven't gotten Little Xiang yet, I adore the Loongsoul 1/6th bodies. I got the discontinued Hupo as my first bjd, and he is still my favorite. I haven't tried the two part torso but the three part torso is such a fun poser, easy to restring, they are a chunkier body than the littlefees, but I would say it is more the loongoul bodies look more like children under 10 and littlefees can be styled as preteens with a more noticeable difference in waist and hip measurements.
I got Snowball a while ago. My one and only tiny bjd who is the most adorable of them all. I consider getting her friends in the future possibly White Square Cake and Milk Walnut Cookie because those two are as adorable ☺️. Anyone ever have these with their order. I think they are felt but I don't have any ideas what make with them. If anyone has any good ideas please let me know. Thanks .
