Responded to your PM, but thought the measurements might be useful here as well. And I added a couple measurements that seemed useful as well. Center horse torso/stomach circumference (smallest horse torso measurement): 15cm behind the front legs and just before the back legs Human waist joint to tail stub/hole distance: 8cm Inner front legs to inner back legs distance (with 4 legs straight down as can be): 4cm Upper front leg circumference: 8.5cm Upper back leg circumference: 9cm Tail stub/hole circumference: 3cm? I had such a hard time stringing her that I didn't want to take the tail back out. I measured 4cm at the base of the tail and the peg that inserts into the tail hole is smaller. I couldn't get an exact measurement for this one without taking her apart lol. If someone dares to take their tail off, then they can get a better measurement for this bit. Horse behind circumference (widest size): 15.5cm around the middle of the belly. Front leg height: 10cm Back leg height: 10cm Human waist (widest part): 12.5cm Neck circumference: 5.5cm Arm span (wrist to wrist): 19cm
This is very helpful! Thank you so much!! Its nice to have something to do while waiting for the whole after purchase process. Appreciate it! ^^
http://www.loongsouldoll.com/Product_Show.asp?id=381 Did anyone else see this dolly? It looks like one of the centaur heads on the LS baby body. It seems like just clothes at the moment but I hope they release this doll - she is so cute.
^_^ I am pretty sure that is a NEW head!... she has 'teeth!' None of the others of that size do. and the 'baby body' is just the human size body you can get 'with' the centaurs. They are the same size category. (the 26 cm size range). Yes it's just the outfit for now (damn cute... may have to get one even if my only doll is a boy >< lol. @ Yurusumaji OMG KitKat! she needs these ... one in each color!!!! ;p. But ya I love the way a company sneaks in unofficial 'previews' of dolls by putting a new outfit on them but no clues about the actual doll Iplehouse sneaks in outfits into 'background shots like this lol.
You are so right! No teeth at all on the centaurs. For a while I was nervous I was going to have to buy a centaur to get the same look. My big passion is LS big dollies but I may have to get her - she is just too cute to pass up. Sorry big boy doll - you'll have to wait again. Plus QingLi needs a baby.
lol ya I know what you mean about the 'big' dolls. I'm a die hard for Iplehouse men... I love the LS boys too but they don't fit into my overall look I am after. So I content myself with a friends LS boy ;p. But when she had to re-home her BWTiger... I'd threatened her with doll-napping often enough she gave me first shot lol. Enyu would have a companion in a heartbeat if I could get another Tiger, but for some reason his head mold does not even show as a past sale item and his ears are angled just right... straight out or down tipped don't work for me O_o... If they come out with something that has ears and the rest like his I may get it... but IH comes first right now until their current 'series' is done.
I think I saw he tigers when I was first lurching into the bjd hobby and noticed LS dolls. I thought they were so cute but anything over $200 at that point was too much for my husband to commit to until he saw them first hand. By then I think it was too late. The small LS doll I regret missing the most is the dragons. I was thinking how cool it would have been if I got one - my first son was born the year of the dragon and I could have given him that one. Now with the centaurs I could get my second son a centaur since he will be a horse. I know that sounds like incredibly stupid reasoning for wanting a doll but I can't help regret missing the dragons now. I'm guessing like the large dolls that tiny LS have crazy pose-ability?
@ Yurusumaji... I am wanting to order an IH outfit (I'll have the doll eventually ;p) But I plan to try it on Enyu first (omg I'm gonna cross dress the poor thing ><) but as the bwt's are gender-less ... I hope he won't mind 'too' much? Anywho... this is the dress http://iplehouse.com/home/shop/item.php?it_id=1607224155&nhn1=en It's a dress that will fit w/e tiny doll I end up with from IH (B/KID) and I'll have one outfit ready... but chest wise I want to see about the fit for LS tiny's. By the size numbers it should work... My problem is this... LS has a very small head... I adore Kat's wig and wondered where you got it and in what size.... and is the a chance of me getting it in blue? I think Enyu would be adorable in a blue wig like Kat's and that dress >< God I'm evil to want to do this to Enyu... he's lucky his paws won't work with the other ones lol. Or if anyone here owns both the small 'dragon or tiger' (because they have same body size/structure) AND an IH BID or KID... do the IH clothes fit?
good question... I tried an image search on google and that didn't even help much... you may have to find a way to make a 'request' to the company to post them? Is there something in particular you are wanting to see? (ie ear shape/position)... if you look at the sale pages (all of them since there are some different photo's for each that highlight the particular dolls) you might be able to pick out what you are looking for?
I think Ive seen just about every pic on google of them but very few are blank. Someone on this forum(I think on this very thread) has some Bessie pics without makeup... thats the only one Ive found. I just want to see what the differences in their face sculpts are b/c other than Billy they all look the same to me...even with the different faceups. The faceups actually seem to make them look more alike. :\
to me the 'main' differences are the lip/mouth shape and the ears. mouths are line type or cupids bow... and the ears are tilted up, down or more straight out... it's the ears that are my hang up... I have the white tiger and his are perfect to me...
Thankyou! I just ordered Bessie today, so this will help me have something for her to wear when she arrives ^_^
can i get someone to grab a 'wrist' measurement? I want to make sure it's the same as my tiger's... but he has great big paws so I'm not sure...
Enyu is not sure what to make of this lol *note: using a dying tablet who's functions are 'iffy' at best so focus sux but not much I can do ><* I've been dying to try out Enyu as a girl since IH keeps tossing out cute dresses that 'might fit' So I tried out a borrowed wig... omg ... a size 6 is huge! *the ear magnets are what keeps it on lol* ... I'd have to totally buy a new one >< But I think it might just be worth it? ;p first hint of a new look? XD by DoA Lady Tiku, on Flickr
Enyu looks cute no matter the gender xD Hmmm... tempted to make Nero dress up as a girl lol And I think the tiger's heads are just small lol Nero's wig is held there by his ears lol
Omg Enyu looks so cute! I need to get all my dollies out for pictures, I just got back from dollism and hopefully something I bought will fit my little centaur. Poor boy needs to go out for a face up still.
lmao so it's not just me (ear/wig size thing) and the wig he has on is a "6" it's marked on it ;p it's from Leeke world... and it doesn't come smaller! And I say do it! lol. TY & I hope you got some pics a the con too O_O.... and if it fits we want a fashion show!
Well Nero's wig is a bit too big, but I don't think you can tell as his hair looks like a crazy bird's nest anyway!!! I did a little photostory based on the boys becoming girls discussion ^^" Click HERE to see why Nero's sister is showing him a dress...
I love it! I feel the need to make one of my own now, but I'll have to do it tomorrow as I am about to go to work. Drat work :/
Hello everyone! I received my first loongsoul doll today, a billy His name is Edward, and he'd like to say hi!
Awww he's so cute even blank! Congrats His eyes are lovly do you know what colours and styles you are going to have him have yet..?
I"m really happy with the color of the eyes he came with, but they are too big for my taste, so I am hoping to find the same color in a smaller size. As for hair, I just can't seem to find a wig that I like, and it's irritating me. I can't decide whether I want blonde, brown, or black, and the style I really love is too big. So I'm looking at a lambskin one at the moment that I'm unsure about too. And I can't decide whether I should be getting a 5/6 wig since his head is a little under 6" or a 6-7 since his head is almost 6" and that size seems to have more options. I'm going to send him off to be painted when I have the money, I'm thinking something dappled, but I have no idea what actual color, since that depends on the wig I choose.
Yes, these cuties do have slightly small heads xD Nero's wig only stays on because his ears hold it in place lol But an elastic band might help One of my other dolls who has quite a small head for her size replies on a lilac elastic band to hold her wig on, but it does work a treat Hope you settle on a wig choice soon I'm having simular issues with a doll who hasn't arrived yet xD Are you able to get to a doll meet perhaps? You can borrow other people's wigs for a minute just to get an idea? Or do you have a selection of wigs laying around or what other dolls have? They don't even have to be the right size, just to give you an idea of the colour?
I tried the 'girl' wig... it's a leeke wig and size 6 and it's huge. I do the same... hold it on with his ears ><
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I ended up ordering a grey slightly wavy long wig for him that's parted down the center. My intent is to cut it a bit to be more like another wig that I really wanted but didn't come in a small enough size. Sounds like I should definitely order him a wig cap, or at least plan to have a little help to keep the wig on his head via rubber band, or silicon putty, or something From the stories I've heard about Loongsoul's waiting times, I wasn't expecting him for another month, or maybe 2, so I don't have the $$ saved up to have him painted yet, and felt bad that he's basically standing around naked, so I made him a reversible horse blanket to keep him warm I also found that I can balance him on his front legs! "Look, Ma! NO HANDS!"
I love his horse blanket, I should make some of those for all my poor under dressed centaurs! How are you planning on blushing him?
The blanket was super easy, and I'm looking forward to making a few more of them for Edward to wear until I can get his blushing done, and also for storage to help protect his blushing too. Depending on what my artist thinks (she always seems to know what the perfect thing is!) and if the wig I bought works out, I'm thinking I'd like him to be white, grey, and black, with dapples and sort of faded gradient legs. Here's the other side of the blanket. I like the green side best, but the red just seems so autumn! We definitely need more centaur spam in here.
I agree the red fits the season! I feel like he should be wearing that standing in a pile of leaves or something! I'll have to get my boy out for pictures soon!
I am in the middle of paying my layway for a LS centaur(Bessie). These pics help soothe the wait! Do they come partly assembled to you?
My Billy came in two parts and you have to attach the front to the back with the tail That is one of the pictures from my box opening, hopefully it helps give you an idea. I can't wait to see your Bessie!
I didn't take any pictures of the unassembled pieces, but the front body, the back body, the tails, and the head are all separate. The front body has an shook and a metal ring in it to keep its stringing where its easy to reach. From reading threads I believe you are supposed to remove that ring and attach the s hook to a tail, however, I will say that the body does stay together well enough if you add another s hook to the elastic in the back body and attach it to the ring. I did this because I didn't know any better, and I decided to leave it that way until I have him blushed, since it will be easier for my artist that way.
thanks! this will be my first bjd so I have no idea what to expect! hopefully the stringing wont be too problematic. Im also not sure if i should assemble her right away b/c I want to give her some body color, though i just plan to paint her hooves and tail, and will probably also need to seal her.
You certainly won't be disappointed. Edward was my 15th doll (I've sold a few here and there so I'm actually only at 10 right now, but still) and I think I might be ruined for other dolls quality-wise now, lol. Now if only his wig would hurry up and get here!! Can't wait to see your girl when she arrives.
Edward's wig came today! I had to cut it, but I'm really happy with how it came out. We had a lovely time out in the leaves today too Taking a stroll through the Leaves by TipsyFox, on Flickr
aww so cute! I think its funny so many people take pics of their dolls b4 they get their face-ups. I happen to like how dolls look like b4 they are painted myself, theres something pure looking about them and I think it shows off the artistry in the sculpt better...
There is a certain beauty to the unpainted dolls, thats for sure! But I am really looking forward to having Edward painted up properly! I just have to save up some money first, since I'm going to have his head and his whole body done at once, which means extra shipping costs, full insurance both ways, and a steeper fee for painting than I usually pay since normally its only a face, and this time its a face and a whole horse body! I'm not sure how people can manage not to ever post a pic of their doll without a faceup, I'm so excited when I get one that I just have to post about it like RIGHT NOW!!! And here's another shot from our little adventure today Edward found a Clover by TipsyFox, on Flickr
I finally found the spare wig (boy it needs some care ><) so Enyu got to try on his new 'dress' ;p Not quite a great fit since it wants to sit too low in front, I think it's the size of his arms and placement compared to the Iple dolls that the dress is made for? A bit of lace at the top would cover where his chest seems to want to peek out lol but still, here he ... or should I say 'she' is! Little "Miss" Enyu Little "Miss" Enyu by DoA Lady Tiku, on Flickr
Awh, Enyu is super cute! Boyish or Girly, it doesn't matter, lol. still super cute! My 5yr son drew a picture of Edward today. It was adorable!
TY and omg Tipsyfox you are so lucky! your son is too adorable drawing that for you... you know this has to be laminated so you can show him when he's bringing home his first GF lol.
aw, how cute is that drawing your son made! Lady Tiku your tiger baby is adorable! can someone tell me what size wig the centaur kids wear?
TY ^^ Enyu will have to give up the dresses this weekend since the 'owner' of them is arriving on Monday ;p... back to being a boy I guess! ;p It depends on what company its from and if you don't mind the fit (meaning you can deal with too big and find ways to make it work). The wig Enyu is wearing with the top bun... is like 2 sizes too big (small fitting 7-8 from Leeke I think). Technically I think these dolls heads are about a 4-5. 5-6 in a small fitting wig... did you have a particular wig or company in mind? Might get better fit advice if we knew that. Just because something has a size label does not always guarantee fit >< I have 8-9 wigs from Iplehouse that just barely fit ... if you work at it... and one that I would have called a 7-8... O_o...
Ahh, that drawing of Edward is so cute!! I've been lurking around this thread for a while since I'm trying to save up for a centaur Beck myself. Although, I'm not really sure why they don't seem to be available in tan? I wonder if that's the kind of thing the company might be willing to do if you asked. Edit: or actually, he seems to be available in tan from horusdoll but not mint on card. Weird.
Lady Tiku, I dont know... I was thinking of just a fur wig like the ones Ive seen on ebay. Ive bought some nice ones from a seller called sunnyswonderfulworld for my 1/6 fashion dolls. they also have a webste: http://www.swdoll.com/index.php Id like a short light color wig b/c Im scared a dark one will stain the doll's face.
first about the staining.. don't go paranoid.. these dolls can be cleaned and 'hair' brushing a face won't be in contact enough to do it really (the concern with wig staining is more for where the cap part sits on the head... ) I don't worry about it too much since none of my dolls go bald... I choose to enjoy my dolls with all their 'warts' so to speak. My Enyu took a fall and has a nifty yellow mark now (looks like a 'bindi' mark lol) It's too close to his face up for 'me' to clean (don't trust my hands). But it's under any wigs he wears so I just leave it be. If you check the resin you are worried about being stained every few days/once a week... any stain should come of with magic eraser at that stage. also those 'wig/head cap' covers are good to help prevent that. I'd suggest 'color setting' the wig but I'm not sure how that would go with those wigs (id be worried about the wig loosing color). Also those wigs tend to fit loosely enough there isn't a lot of prolonged contact... Need to check with Nero's owner.. his is an over-sized fur wig and more or less is held on with his ears the same as Enyu's 'girl' wigs. ^^ As for SWDoll... i've heard good things about them... I want the stain guard top/pants for my EID boys since they often wear stuff that stains almost immediately; just handling some items transfers color to my hands >< and it's fabric that won't stand washing. Luckily for me baby tights prevented that problem for now ;p... It helps to find someone you know who knows a bit about what fabric will or won't stain (not all of it does). Just keep an eye on area's with blushing... and MSC the stink out of it... that will let you do 'mild' cleaning of minor color transfer... Don't let the 'word' stain scare you... it doesn't always mean permanent... think in terms of 'will it transfer color', and if yes how easy/hard is it to clean? If you worry about this too much you won't be able to enjoy your dolls for fear of getting them dirty... You should see the inside of my one guys joints lol... blue... from where the joint ate the clothing and I didn't notice.... one day he will get a good bath but until then no one but me will see it. ;p Resin can clean up better than some other things.
thanks lady Tiku! thats reassuring that its not as bad as many bjd articles make it seem. I still feel I should be careful though. i havent really thought about clothing yet, luckily its not something my centaur kid will need right away being half horsey and all!
leather and leather like or suede are the worst because you can't wash them to set the dye's. (and black anything ><). Just check your own laundry for a guide... I'm sure you know which stuff fades etc. I've had my own legs turn blue from jeans I didn't pre-wash lol... never mind what it did to my 'white' undies O_o ><. And if you know you won't be able to 'check' you dolls (ie going on a trip w/o the doll) ya leave me nekkid put away in a box. No point in exposure to the less wanted stuff if there is no reason.. really it's common sense. And a lot of articles are from the point of view of "collectors" of the 'must remain pristine for value' types. Not the "I love my dolls to death and always play with them". Think of comics... what's the point of a books if you never open it? Put your money in a bank if it's an investment you want... that's how I think. The best loved toys are the ones that in the end look the worst because they were well played with and loved ^^
I also wrap their body with clear plastic wrap to avoid staining...at least I do that with my fashion dolls since they stain easily b/c of the vinyl. It doesnt always look nice though as some plastic will peek out from under the clothes... My doll is supposed to arrive at the end of December or January...do they usually leave it at your door or do you have to pick it up at the post office? I hope its the later b/c I wouldnt want it laying on my yard where it could get wet or stolen.
This depends on your service... Some will drop off some require pick up mine requires a signature and if I am not home it goes back to the P-office ans I have to pick up then... Call you local post office (the one you deal with) you can ask what the policy is and at that time you can make a request for them to hold it at the office when it arrives. But you can do this when you get a shipping notice (and will have a better idea of when it will arrive). But I would think if you can put a stop delivery of mail for various reasons it should be the same for parcels?
not what I meant.... what she sends it as does not affect your local post office... you need to ask your post man so to speak... and I would hope she uses EMS ... but that is more the speed/insurance/etc. stuff... I live in Canada so Canada Post is what I send through... but someone in the USA does not 'get' Canada Post... it then transfers to UPS (think that's it). Not knowing where you are doesn't help me help you >< ... If you were in the UK it would be something totally different because of customs. It all depends on YOUR location. I'm sucking at explaining >< sorry.
In the US if it was shipped EMS it usually ends up in USPS. If you are not home when USPS tries to deliver the leave a slip at the door and you can pick up your package when you get a chance or they try and redeliver on another day. Hope that helps
^yes Im in the USA, & she ships EMS so it would be USPS. but Ive gotten packages from Asia both dropped off at my home and at the post office were I would have to bring a small card left in my mailbox to pick it up. I hope its the later.
It depends on if a package requres someone to sign for it too. ALL my orders from the company require signatures so they 'never' get left on the step. But a parcel form cousins 300 miles from me to stuffed in my mail box lol. the card is usualy a package needing a signature that no one was home to give. If you have a 'tracking' number and can follow it, you can try to tell your local post office to 'hold' that item (not deliver it) and that you will do a pick up?
so I got an email from Christina(Jeeryama)confirming they had just shipped out my parcel. She sent me a tracking number and a website and if i used it right I think its still in transit. Im so glad she emailed me bc its already January and I was starting to worry.
hey, so i got my doll a few days ago and am just thrilled with him! Hes adorable and ahh i cant stop rubbing the resin whenever i look at the pieces lol, its so smooth and shiny! kind of a shame to have to covert it up in sealant. I really like how it looks, almost like glazed porcelain. I was also surprised at how white he is, I think I would have actually preffered the flesh tone but oh well thats no biggy. he was really well packaged except for one little odd thing. When I grabbed one of the little fabric sacs holding the dog tag"keychain'? thingy I noticed the unicorn horn was stuck to the outside of the sac! it wasnt wrapped or anything it was just loose in the box ..I guess it slipped them by while they were packing everything up? fortunatly it wasnt damaged! now Im wondering if I should just seal him half assembled like he came or take everything apart first. I really do not want to take him apart he's so well strung!
about the horn... being magnetic it may have been pulled out of something to attach itself to the tag... Enyu's tail (when he's not wearing it) ends up in some odd places lol. I just don't have a proper container for it lol. Why are you going to seal your doll? Did you paint it? If not you don't need to seal it.... especially if he came blushed. If he did he is already sealed, sealing is not something you should have to do with new dolls unless they came blank for you to paint.
he didnt come with a face-up or blushing, I plan to do it myself! I know I need to seal his face when i do the faceup , but Im not sure how much of the body Ill blush. I might just do the hooves and the tail. If I leave his body blank I dont know if not sealing could damage it. The body might also end up looking too different from the sealed head.
