Does anyone here have pictures of a Loongsoul doll with the company faceup? Did the faceup turn out to look like the company promo or worse/better? I've been doing some research and I've found out that Loongsouls company faceups sometimes look......not very good. I just ordered a Loongsoul doll so I think I have time to change to a blank face instead of a done up one. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the subject. If it would be better to stick with the company faceup and hope it comes out well or to switch to just a blank faceup and get an independant artist to do it instead. I'm pretty worried because it's a lot of money to have a faceup added and I don't want to spend that much if it'll come out bad So I was wondering if anyone has advice/experience with Loongsoul's company faceups.
So far for me, the 2 dolls I have were great. Not 100% match as promo pictures but that is with any companies. I think I heard/read on here that it was for customers who ordered in China/Chinese dealers that seem to get bad face-up. I can't confirm that since my God of Flower was ordered through a US dealer, and my Daughter of Dragon was got second hand in Japan (unknown where she was bought from). Here's a pictures of them both on my Instagram. There are unboxing pictures of God of Flowers there too if you want to see what she looked like when I got her in 2018. I have another Loongsoul on the way but he haven't arrived yet. I'll follow up if he arrives soon. I hope that helps! Edit: Sorry I totally forgot I had an unboxing thread on here.
Both my Loongsoul girls came with faceups that were, in my opinion, disappointing. While the company photos showed very delicate work, mine were apparently done by a very heavy handed artist. The eyebrows and eyelashes were much darker and rougher than I expected, and the eyelashes were crazy long. One of them had red markings that also didn't look as delicate and actually bled out as soon as I had a humid day, clearly they weren't sealed very well. I'm sure there are many people who have had good experiences with faceups from LS, and personally I still think the dolls themselves are very high quality, but in the future I'll be getting my dolls blank.
Wow, your unboxing one came out really well. Its such a hard decision, because I saw the blog of chinese Loongsoul doll faceups and some of them were not good at all. And some here come out REALLY good and some are dissapointing. So I'm not sure whether I should change the faceup option to blank or not. But yours came out really really well Do you think since I ordered through Alice collections I have a higher chance of having a bad faceup? Do you happen to have any pictures of their faceups from the company? I've seen a common problem of the really heavy handed faceups, and I saw one with absolutely horrible eyelashes, I looked at it and was like
Here are box opening pictures of my LS Lan, her face up is gorgeous: Link! It's a huge bummer that not all face ups turn out like in the pictures. : / My Lan was supposed to have red eye lashes, but she came with white, that's the only negative I can think of. She was a limited doll, don't know if that was a factor.
Here you go! Saya and Natsumi box opening Saya and Natsumi box opening They might not look too bad if you're not comparing them to the company photos, but if I'd known they would look like that I would have gotten them blank. I definitely don't regret wiping them.
My LS Celia with company face-up: Celia. I think they did a gorgeous job, but not a big fan of the cheap eyelashes. I can easily change them at some point but I've been too lazy.
Yours turned out so well The red eyelashes would have been awesome though, bummer you didn't get them. The white ones arent horrible though I can see how you'd be dissapointed, I don't HATE them though. The eyebrows are the biggest difference I see. Saya's though I would be kinda dissapointed because her company faceup looks awesome Sorry that happened to you. Yes!! Those eyelashes are what I saw on that chinese blog that made me go I wonder why they chose to use cheapo eyelashes when a lot of their promo/company faceups have really nice looking eyelashes. But you're right, shouldn't be too hard of a fix.
Yeah, Saya's was definitely the biggest disappointment of the two, her faceup really drew me in on the company photos but sadly they didn't quite deliver. Natsumi's I might have been ok with on its own, it's not as good as the promo but it's not terrible, but being disappointed by both faceups at the same time was just too much so I wiped them both and it was definitely for the best!
Looking at that I would always say pay an artist! They are usually way way better than company faceups and you get to support an artist too! I now never get company ones done and prefer to do my own, cheaper and much more fun
Yeah I'm really thinking hard about that now. I'm gonna message Alice sometime today and ask if its not too late. I'm really interested in doing my own faceups but I need practice first My friend has all the supplies for them and monster highs to practice on but with the coronavirus going on the only thing we don't have are respirators so it's really holding everything up Edit: Bleh...Alice said LS doesn't accept changes after a week. That stinks; I guess I can only hope now and if I don't like the faceup I'll just live with it until I can find someone here to commission
I do my own! I had all the supplies back when it happened and was just waiting for a good opportunity so I started with those two. I've been getting my dolls blank too since
If you’re in the States there’s tons of great artists who do fab work. I’m U.K. based and we have some great artists here too thankfully. I like the idea that no one has a doll quite like mine
I have a full set of thunder kui loongsoul. I think the face-up is a little fader than the company promo. However, I think it is still good, he looks handsome.
