66cm+ Dolls Loongsoul Black Dragon has landed

    1. I ordered my Black Dragon in brown tan still in January. He shipped in 2 boxes in August, his fantasy parts arrived before the doll itself.

      So I will do a double box opening today (I opened the fantasy parts box on Wednesday)!

      Without further ado, onto the pictures!

      I found a foot, it is very very big!

      Tragedy! This piece is not supposed to be in 3… it’s cast in two pieces, so the third is actually a broken resin part. I already wrote to NewClover-Singing about it. She’s contacting Loongsoul about a resolution.

      This tail is a menace and it chose violence. For not thing it is extremely tightly strung, to the point that it unbent the s-hook, and fell apart on me. After I almost got it restrung, my ribbon broke and the tail fell apart again. Similar happened a few more times so now the tail is too loose, but I will fix it later.

      Then today, September 3rd, 2021, I received the doll. I was really worried because of how beat up the boxes were. See for yourself.

      The outer box does not look very reassuring…

      The inner box already is making me worried with that hole…

      The back side of the box made me even more nervous, you can see resin poking through.

      Finally got the box open, only to be met with a cracked face shield. Fortunately the head was fine.

      A lot of his magnets came loose in shipping, so I spent a good while re-glueing them all. Here’s his funny butt plate, with the magnets out of whack.

      His weapon surprisingly arrived painted already. I also already managed to crack the resin of the bottom dagger part… it was too tight.

      and yes I had to unstrung his legs from the knee down to get the pants on him.

      So there you have his unboxing.
      I’m honestly rather underwhelmed by him as his tail tip arrived broken, his ankle joints are super slippery, so I had to suede him (he keeled over once already), and the re-gluing of 1/3 of his magnets was more than a little annoying…

      But all that aside, I am glad he’s arrived. Now I just need his wig and proper horns to arrive.

      I'm really sorry you had to deal with so many broken and loose parts, this would have made me really frustrated as well... I hope you'll be able to fix and put everything together soon and enjoy him to the fullest!

    8. WOW!! That's a project if ever there was one. Sorry about the shipping problems and broken parts, smh. That's definitely a dampener. But, he looks goooddddd!! I was worried too with all the holes in the box and damaged face shield (did he fall off a truck!?) But glad he's mostly whole. Can't believe how massive those dragon parts are! I'd have had to had it company blushed; couldn't do it. Luck on the painting!! Can't wait to see you bring him to life :).

    10. I was getting worried with every picture I saw. I'm glad that he is mostly good to go. He has a presence to him that is very eye catching. Also, I loved the cat sitting in the box in one of the photos.

    11. Wow he his huge. Hope they resend the tip that was broken in 3 parts. Does the jointing in the tail have any real mobility or are the separate pieces it is made out of more for shipping/casting convenience?

    12. That tail is a work of art (adore the little fins to provide stability where the tail rests on the ground). The damage looks heart breaking, fingers crossed on hearing back from LS about it... Will you be updating the thread?

      The sheer amount of dragon there looks suitable to be a table centre piece, he is gorgeous. :aheartbea

      I can't believe the bad luck with the tail and the main box being stabbed and crushed :( and just shows that using a face protector really works too.

    13. wow, congrats on this handsome boy! I hope you can get new parts that aren't broken, I honestly got scared when I saw the box and face-cap but I'm glad to see he is mostly fine. Also: Love that butt!

    15. I can't get over how giant his feet are. Beautifully designed too, the color is a great choice. It's a shame that he arrived damaged, but maybe you could make them look like battle scars or something, if that would fit his character.

      In other news, his wig finally arrived today! I still need to rescue his horns from the post office…

    21. He's a good one. I seem to be one of the ones with the most problems with him so far... Like he wouldn't stand out of the box without keeling over! I was honestly surprised since my ShenLuo from 2018 is still rock solid without restringing.
      I got him some Ram horns from Dreamland Doll Studio on Etsy! They arrived and suit him perfectly

    22. It is horrible that you have had all the problems. With something costs that much you have a right to expect it to arrive in perfect condition. I hope your replacement parts arrive asap. Those horns look perfect on him <3

    23. You definitely had some bad luck with this order and really happy for you that he has come together so well (the horns are a perfect size and colour... and even the original magnet placement really suits too) :D
