I'm a photographer and i wanna have a go at editing pictures of your dolly's that you have taken your self and feel like they could use some work to them and this would just be for fun on my part just post a picture here or message me or whatever
^^ try this; the photo is really grainy due to poor lighting (I think, my camera is meant to be good...) but meh, lesse what you can do~
Hello. I am kind of a photographer by my self, so I have very many pictures to take of. I edit too, but mostly I dosent do anything about them. Maybe we see thing differently in one of my photos, and that is interesting. You can pm me or email me at [email protected] if you want me to send you a picture or two
I'm not much of a photographer, and even less experienced at editing pictures....but if you want to, you can give my boy a go.
I'm almost always too lazy to edit my photos (aside from some cropping or lowering dpi) even though I'm not a photographer and probably should have fun editing~
Oh... uhmm Hi! Can I also try editing some of the photos? I've been wanting to edit dollie photos for a while now. Wanna practice a bit before getting my own and photographing him, ya know? You have cute dollies and pretty nice editing skills.
Well I'm a terribly lazy photographer who hates editing her own work so feel free to use any of my pictures. I was doubly lazy earlier this week and only used my point and shoot camera and didn't get out any of my lights despite the fact that my room is horribly lit so naturally the photos didn't turn out the best. The exposure is off and they all turned out super grainy. Here's one picture for now.
Yup! I just got her in last week, she's my first new doll in around five years and the first I bought myself.
Well this is helpful, I haven't really taken many pictures yet, but they all look poor compared to everyones. Backdrop, props and better lighting is probably my problem so far. might request pictures later on if a similar thread is around.
Thanks! Yeah I feel really lucky to have her, Luts are my favorite dolls. Oh and Finaljc, if you have a room with windows that let in nice natural lighting you should be fine. Natural lighting is your best friend. I just have black out curtains in my room and I was too lazy to open them when I did my pictures OTL.
Mrkjamie: If you really don't mind others posting edits...I've been wanting to try this since she asked the question on another thread. This is one way killer-chan's group portrait could be edited I just selected each of the boys out and arranged them behind the girls. Did curves and local tone mapping individually for the individual layers, created a textured background....hmmm...what else...oh, yeah, I did some drop shadows on some of the boys to let them pop a bit from the dark background. Might be too dark on some monitors. Mine's pesky-bright and hard to judge. wonderful-world...what a beautiful boy! I'm not sure what you're looking for...it's a very nice photo, but this is one way to make him pop a bit from the background, and some suggestions for cropping. I thought, rather than doing a depth of field to fuzz the lower half of his body, I'd try doing it with a color overlay multiply layer. Not sure I'm totally happy, but it does demonstrate one option for the DoF blur. My personal favorite is the largest of the cropped ones. By cutting off his hair on the left side, it makes him look like he's headed somewhere. For him, I just brightened the eye with local tone mapping and did some soft burn brush under his jawline. Might have done a little burn on his mouth just to bring it out slightly...can't remember. Hmmm...looking at the pic displayed...I meant to kill the blue overlay on the crops and it's too dark when displayed on this white background. Ah, well, it's an idea....
Thanks so much Vindalootoo! I'm still experimenting with photography and I have a few more pictures if you are interest~
wonderful-world: It looks to me like you've got a good eye and are definitely headed in the right direction. At this point, it just becomes practice and finding your own visual "voice". If you have specific questions re: editing, don't hesitate to PM me, but this is really Mrkjamie's thread and I very muchh want to respect that. Just a couple of general comments on this pic: I think your inherent depth of field and composition was really nice. My thinking, when you said to warm it up, was to cool the background so that you have a warm doll against cool background, which makes him pop out and look warmer in contrast without actually changing his natural color. As a general rule, what you're trying to do in a picture is to create an illusion of 3 dimensions in a 2D medium. Cool background with warm foreground (or vice versa) is a fast and basic way to accomplish that. Depth of field is another. Smooth vs texture is still another. You already had depth of field and texture working well. At that point, it became playing with options rather than fundamentally "improving" the image. Because I'm a story teller first, I tend to crop things in such a way to suggest a "before" and an "after", hence my preference for the large cropped one, which shows just enough background to suggest he might not be wanting to be there sans-shirt, and looks as if he's moving into (and by extrapolation of his off-camera eye focus, moving through) the range of the camera lens. Mrkjamie: forgive my little intrusion. I'll be quiet now. I just love solving problems and that group pic was a good one. I think this is a great thread. One thing I might suggest is that you add a comment or two on what you did and why so the folks posting their pics (and the lurking visitors) can get an idea how to do it themselves. That way, you get practice and they learn! Win-win. (returning to lurker status...)
Here are some pictures I took of a friends doll tell me what you think he belongs to http://www.denofangels.com/forums/member.php?39902-tutia
This is awesome! Your editing is really pretty! I personally vote for comments on how you edit them too! It's really interesting on how you can turn one thing into another just by editing it! If you want to edit this one that would be super fun!
id love to give it a try and ill try to add notes to how i edit them and i use the editing program Picasa 3 on almost everything lol
Okay thanks! If its inconvenient for you to put how you did it up you don't have too. I'd just like to know your creative process. ^_^
Im happy to i plan on making the mask pop with color almost done just writing down what im doing lol i always forget
