I've been trying to find patterns for slim mini boys, especially Minifee (a-line) and Narin (original version), but haven't had much luck. I'm open to paid and free patterns of any style, especially pants lol Thanks in advance~
Lomi's playground has a video for drafting pants patterns, and some free patterns for minifee and 1/4 on their website! I haven't used the free patterns, but the drafting video is really easy to follow~
There are some patterns I have seen on Etsy. Things like T-shirts and hoodies you can properly get away with an MSD sized pattern. It's the pants or shorts falling off the waist that can be a problem. Some patterns for minifee are advertised as unisex as well. You can also try looking for Unoa patterns. They are similar in size to minifee. I would just to a quick measurement search to see if I needed to make small adjustments for those patterns. If you are still looking in about a month. I can try to help you. Unfortunately I had surgery 2 weeks ago and can't put weight on my foot for a total of 6 weeks making my ability to get up and trying to find my patterns difficult. I have made cargo shorts and pants for the motion line boys. I have an older A-line boy though so I can see if they work on him and if not I will at least be able to see how my current patterns need to be tweaked to fit. Good luck
Patterns that fit Ellowynne Wilde dolls also fit female Minifee so I expect the patterns that fit Penn and Rufus (and also the Tonner Peter Penvensie and Matt O'Neill) would fit Minifee boys. Designs by Jude has several.
@ItelyNotItaly Thank you! I hadn't been on Lomi's in a while, had checked them out for SID/EID patterns before. I'll give the video a watch and check out the Minifee patterns. I bet I could use the shirt and legging patterns for my boy... @nekoKaori Thank you! I've found mostly girl Minifee patterns on etsy, but etsy's search function also isn't the best so it's possible I missed some. I have found some Unoa boy patterns I like, but they're in Japanese and I'm not at the sewing skill to try patterns in a language I don't know. I definitely plan to consider them when I'm better at sewing and understanding patterns. I hope your recovery goes well! I would love to know about your patterns when you're able to check them, thank you @Victoria Victrix Thank you! I honestly had no idea Ellowynne Wilde had male counterparts. I only knew about the girls, never saw the guys before. This is really good to know! And I didn't realize that the Tonner Peter and Matt would fit. That's super helpful, since I need to get some patterns in that size for my Dollshe Fashion boys. Thanks again to all of you!
@LupusDarkmoon, I have an off-topic 50 cm doll that fits Peter Pevensie's clothing just fine, except that the pants are too short. Even fits the boots. So I think the Matt and Peter patterns would certainly fit your Minifee boy.
I only had to make a few adjustments to these patterns for my Motion line boy: Minifee Clothes BJD Pattern 18 Inch Doll Clothes Pdf Sewing - Etsy Jeans MSD Minifee Clothes Pdf Sewing Pattern BJD Pattern Cloth - Etsy T-Shirt/Ringer Tee I know the A-line boys are a bit bigger, Motion boys have basically the same measurements as the A-line girls, but these should work as a starting point. I believe I ended up making the shirt a few cm longer, and raising the back of the jeans just a bit. The results were really good, in my opinion. It is hard to find boy patterns--so please keep us updated if you find any good ones!
I just tried the first pair of shorts I made for my motion line on my old active line body. They do fit but are a little tight for my liking around the butt. Honestly if we make it a tad bigger it would properly work well. Today is the first I am trying to put any weight on my foot so it will be some time before I find get my pattern, try tweaking it and then uploading. Here is how tight it is if your wondering. It almost looks like he is getting a wedge here. I feel for him and he doesn't even have a head.
@Idoru Thank you so much for the links and info! Those look really nice! @nekoKaori Thank you for the pictures! I see what you mean about a bit too tight (poor headless guy lol). Those are nice looking pants, though! I hope your recovery continues to go well.
I just bought the book "Tiny Wardrobe" by HANON, which contains unisex-looking patterns for pants (2 kinds), a shirt, a waistcoat + corsage, boots + socks, and a shoulder bag (in addition to more "girly" garments). All sized for Unoa 1/4 girls, but rather loose-fitting, and designed for the flat chest, so they might work well for MSD boys also. Unoa Freak 2 & 3 contain some patterns made specifically for Unoa 1/4 boys, though it's debatable whether they're worth the cost of shipping from Japan if you're not going to use the girl patterns...
