Hi! i've tried to find a proper theme, yet i couldn't Can someone please share some pictures of Dollstown 18 yr male body (or the new 17 yr male body) and how well it can pose? The majority photos showing them standing still, but i wonder how their chest joint works, can it slouch or not, does the doll can touch the face etc
Thank you! I'm interested in particular into the new 17 yr male body, but if to be honest, in person i saw only 17 girl body, so i don't know if old male 17 yr and new one has a different mechanics
Hatori Poses by Marie, on Flickr Hatori Poses by Marie, on Flickr These were safe now to see others where clothes had to be removed you can see here if a member on Flickr. Meet Hatori If you are not on Flickr, PM me your email address and I will send you copies. Hatori is a Dollstown Yoon on the Old version of the 17 Yr boy. I have had 18 Year boys and they are difficult to get to stand alone and are very heavy. 17 Yrs can be quirky in their own way. Just depends on stringing and if you opt to suede or wire. Sueding does help with slippery joints. Personally I feel if you are going to do unique poses, you best wire them as they are not really built to do much.
thank you! i'm able to check Flickr, it's very informative DT18 is not suiting for my needs, but from what i see it's quite similar by look with a new 17 yr body, that's why i thought it would be much easier to find photos of that body, since probably not all have a newer version of 17 yr ^^
Pictures of (original/old) Dollstown 17 vs 18 posing (with dollie nudity) on Flickr, here: 220107 Dollstown 17 vs 18 boy body posing I personally love both the DT 17 and 18 bodies. They are both excellent posers imo. The 18 is VERY heavy but still holds his arms in poses that many of my others dolls can't and stands pretty easily. The chest joint on both the DT18 and 17 work very well. They can slouch, but I think mostly it just lets them sit up straight when they're sitting or lean one way or the other, because if the joint is left straight on, they kind of lean back when they sit. The double jointed knees and elbows mean they kneel great and easily touch their face/put hands behind their heads, etc. The old DT17 body, which I have, also has a hip joint which I find superior in posing ability. It doesn't wiggle around, it's quite sturdy but it can help get more curve in their torso and sit really nice. The new DT17 body doesn't have it, just like the DT18. Not having the joint does make for some sexy hips, though... and I don't have too much trouble with my DT18 without it.
thank you! most of the people on Instagram said DT18 are pretty bad in terms of posing T_T my plan was to get a new DT17, that looks exactly as 18, but smaller in proportions, since the head is not so big^^ may i ask about the skintone of both bodies, is it pale one?
I know, the DT18 gets a bad rap for some reason and I don't get it. Will he balance on one foot like a minifee? No, he's enormous lol. But I have never balanced any doll like that and don't see the need for it, either. He poses great in my opinion. He is large and very heavy and that might be difficult for some people, though. I also really want the new DT17 just to have if because I love Dollstown. If it poses like the DT18 but lighter I think that should in theory make it easier to pose, relatively. My Quinn, the Harlequin, is on a pale skin DT18 (his head has been somewhat colour matched to the body) and Lucas, the LR Andre, is on a fresh skin DT17.
lot's of complains about the knees from what i know. i don't have intentions of posing my man like a minifee, that's for sure xD but still i like the body that can do some natural posing on the photo and not just being beautiful tree Thanks again! Color looks very different indeed, i have a very old white head (8+ years), that yellowed, and i have never deal with DT or Dollshe to understand their skintons to be sure about what skin should i order
I dunno, maybe I'm lucky but I don't have any real issues with him. lol. Because he's so heavy, he can't like do a lunge or bend his knees and stand or something, he would collapse I think, but he can cock his hip or lean against something with one leg bent. If you sit or lay him down he can get into pretty much any position I've ever wanted him to. He has good range of movement, I don't know what people expect really maybe? So many of my other dolls are floppy and can't hold their arms up or have terrible range of movement but he's really great at all those. Dollstown are also really good at wrist and ankle joints in that they have excellent range of movement which makes them very expressive. But comparing him for example to my Dollshe Mystic or Rhythmos bodies he's a dream. Both those Dollshe bodies have trouble standing because the knees buckle and they can't hold their arms up and stay up... I mean I love them, too, they're beautiful, but Dollstown combines both beauty and function imo. Quinn's paleskin body is from Dec 2017, so about 4 years old, and it's still very very paper white. I do keep my room dark most of the time but he's always on display, and he's been outside maybe a few times for photos. It matches pretty well to his Soom white jointed hands though Soom white is a bit creamier and DT is more paper white; it's not really that noticeable though, and I'm pretty picky. Dollstown and Dollshe resin are the same and between them I have paleskin, freshskin, oriental, and copper oriental and I love all of them. I have had friends with darker coloured dollshes that greened in weird patches but those were older and I don't know if that's been fixed yet, but I would love a light tan one day, too. If you need or want resin colour matches, you can check my profile for what dolls I have if you like. I would be happy to snap some pics.
That was super helpful!! Thank you so much I've checked all your crew, yet my head is just way too rare to be found it's HZBjd - Guhu, company already is closed and it wasn't very popular anyway
Never seen an HZ in person before but I googled them. You have a HZ white skin? It looks a little creamier than DT/DS white, closer to a Soom white maybe? But that being said My Quinn is a Venetian Bone SimplyDivine head which is almost parchment creamy colour and with the faceup I don't mind the match and I like the soom white hands on him, too. Wish I could help more. Good luck!
it was creamy when it arrived, but after a while it's pretty yellow. anyway it's heavily airbrushed now, so it's only a matter to find the more suitable skintone from DT and pale seems the best option ^^ You really helped me a lot, thank you!!!
