Long overdue hello!!

Hey everyone!

My name is Ally... KasaMadhuri777 or KM777 pretty much everywhere. I am a sculptor, mostly in the fields of installation, metal and moldmaking/casting, but I dabble in pretty much every visual art practice. So I couldn't help but sculpt BJDs fairly soon after I got into them.

I first learned of their existence through Gothic and Lolita, back in about 2002 or so. I adored them but never thought I could afford one, so I brushed off the hobby to protect my fragile feelings. :XD I finally decided to cave and get into BJDs after running into them again at a few anime conventions, and joined DoA in early 2008. Since then, I have collected 4 SD sized dolls and have a 5th on the way. I maintain a customizing/modding/engineering thread and accessories thread in the DoA marketplace.

During that time I also began designing and sculpting BJDs. I've done 2 dolls which I would never finish or cast... mostly just for sculpt and proportion practice. I have fiddled with a number of heads and done quite a bit of modding to existing sculpts. But sculpting from nothing is still my joy. My aesthetic is high realism with a Mannerist sort of lengthening of all the body's features. I prefer the 70 cm scale but definately plan to do some tinies! I am making 'option parts' right now, so that various body parts I have done interchange with one another to achieve different proportions and bodytypes using one key sculpt.

My fantasy is to someday release my own BJD line. But I am not really in it to sell... I am quite happy to sit in my studio gettin' dirty like a kid making mud pies. *L* But who knows, right? It sure would be nice to recoup some resin costs. *L*
