Yes they do..and I'm sorry to say this but I'm going to write LUTS about this cause if they do really look alike it's copying.

I believe even if they are copies that there is noting Luts can do unless this company starts selling internationally, because China has differant copyright laws... Not positive about this, however.

 

Well Forever doll was sued by Volks, and FD was Chinese.

No, copying is copying. ^_^;;; I think Volks got Forever Doll when they started international sales.

 

That definitely looks way too much like Chiwoo. Luts and CP should be alerted to this to see what they think. Maybe they can't do anything, but it doesn't hurt to try. Copying another company's sculpt is just wrong any way you cut it.

 

I have already mailed LUTS about it...so they should read it tomorrow ^_^

The second one looks like it could be Chiwoo as well, but the pictures are too blurry for me to tell. The first one's definitely a heavily modified one, either the sleeping or nonsleeping version. I'd be able to tell with clearer photos of the mouth. DX

 

When I looked at the first link, I thought it was Chiwoo and they were just a clothing seller or something like that using Chiwoo as a model. The second. . . I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards a modded Chiwoo of some sort.

 

I'd be hesitant to be the first to buy a doll that seemed too cheap to be true. Generally, when something seems to good to be true... it is.

I mean, I've got a Dollzone now and I love him, but I wouldn't have taken the risk on buying him without having heard other people say the resin was of decent quality.

But, on the other hand, I've often found myself wondering if perhaps we're just to the point where it's impossible to release a new doll without it resembling another doll.

 

Yeah. I like dollzone now and stuff and all that good stuff, but this is just horrible. Maybe this will be a new dollzone, you know? Turn themselves around for the better and stuff? At least I hope so. I like Chinese BJDs usually, but that's just flat-out wrong.

The lips and face shape seem to be the same. The eyes are close but seem to be placed a *little* differently, and the shape is a little different.... HOWEVER, that could be a difference in camera distortion, since I didn't have exactly the same images to work with.

Let the people decide for themselves!

NOTE: If anyone wants my original .psd files to see if you can get a better/worse match than me, I'd be willing to post them somewhere.

ETA: I just noticed the nose is pretty much the same too. If the eyes are different, it seems to be a modded sleeping Chiwoo modded to look as close to an open eyed version as they could get.

 

I'd like to see what they girl they are getting ready to release looks like. I hope they aren't another Forever Doll...

 

I'd look at the difference in camera angle and head posing for the differences in eye shape and placement, personally. As I said elsewhere, the Luts Chiwoo image isn't a straight-on/head-level photograph like the Loli image is, and that can make a difference.

 

Wow. I would've thought he was a badly modded Chiwoo. I'm really interested in seeing Luts'/CP's response to this.

I'm quite disturbed by this. I own a chiwoo and both heads there are just a modded version of Chiwoo. the first one might be a open eyed sleeping chiwoo. The second one had his over all face shape modded, along with the eyes. However, you can see that they were chiwoo to start with...

 

I think the idea Alex looks like CHiwoo comes from the squared eyes. Not many Luts dolls have the xquared eyes-they're usually almod shaped, except for a few, especially the Cutie Delf Mary, Chiwoo and Soo (normal)

Plus, the angles the dolls are photographed at are pretty similar. Any doll will look like another if the angle is just right. Seriously-Ive had issues telling Yder/El/DIM's apart due to photography sometimes.

I think Alex is lovely and, if anything, has the slightly 'sad' look of DIM dolls. He's a cutie!

At first I couldn;t see it, but having just spent some time peering at the pics... yes, that looks like a modded Chiwoo.

It will be interesting to see what Luts says.

 

I've asked the luts korean QnA board, and their response was that the dolls in question ARE a CP ChiWoo knockoff, and they are in the process of taking action.

BOTH of them are modded chiwoo.
luts/CP is trying to get a hold of the seller, so if there's any info, please let them know.

 

I've told Luts about this when the lolidoll began to sell their body about two months ago.The body looks the same as the Delf body.
But I'm so disapointed ,Luts said nothing but told me to buy one and send one to them. They didn't paid enough attention on this.

Yup. It is pirated. They copied the body - no doubt about that.

This is quite sad. I think luts/CP is having a hard time tracking down Loli doll.

They just pulled out the extra hip and shoulder cups... The rest looks too close to be anything but a re-cast.

That makes me sad. I like seeing new companies pop up, but not when they do this pirate stuff. That's just bad news. >_<

 

The low hip-joint is a registered trademark of CP boys-Luts' site tells you as much. Anyone who mass-produces dolls with that hip joint have to have permission from CP and pay fees, sometimes a percentage from the sale of the doll.

Those hips joints are definetely CP, but without the extra 'cups' in the joints. If CP was unaware their joints had been re-cast in another companies doll, they have a right to sue as their copyrighted sculpts and PATENTED hip joints are being sold without their permission.

They've had bad feedback about it though. From what I can tell in their feedback, the resin is of poor quality.

 

Yesterday I didn't post their Taobao shop,because I don't want to advertisingf for them.
In the shop ,there is the second kind of girl body they have.About three months ago.They sold another kind of girl body.That one is the same as the soo's body.
At that time ,many Chinese doll fans were very angry,but we can not stop people seeking to purchase a small gain.
The one in the shop now,is also ver similar to luts body.
We should resist piracy.

 

It's terrible that people can get away with this,however I can understand people buying the dolls despite them being pirated because of the cheaper price. That doesnt make it right, but thats why people do it.

Both my Iplehouse and my Lovelyhouse bodies both have the low hip joint.

 

It's most likely cause the Cereberus Project name is well known and have many followers. They know that people will boycott the imposter, thus putting them out of business eventually. You can copy anything, but the quality will never be as good as the original. Even the imposters know it, I mean look at the cheap price of their dolls!

 

I am wondering if it's cold cast resin, which is very brittle, like plaster almost... You drop it or bump it and it's in a million pieces!

 

maybe they relied on that with the issue with Dollzone before, but Dollzone ended up profiting cos you can't trust people to boycott fakes, even if they are a poor product. people will buy the dolls cos they are cheap.

Actually they are indeed copying and I HATE what they do to my favourite LUTS dolls.
Some girls may buy their products because of the cheap price but most of us are considering them as thieves.
Hope they'll get punishment someday.
They are definitely the shame of China.

LUTS and CP can't do anything with this because Lolidoll is now a registered company and is protected by the copyright low in China.
So in other words....in China, the real CP dolls may be considering as copies.
It's just ridiculous.

 

I did a total head restoration on a foreverdoll, I think she was 'Hiroko' or something like that...besides the utterly crappy resin being painted with a color that had yellowed, it was practically MELDED to her resin. Took hours and hours to sand off, because NOTHING would take it off. After putting in probably 40 hours cumulatively of work on the $*$#&% resin, I recommended to her owner that she just get a DD body for her updated look (resin color under the devil paint was good, but quality was so bad I had to give her 'freckles' to hide all the flaws) The resin was just SO horrible...her body was beyond repair, it had broken a few times, with normal use...chipped like a mofo if you LOOKED at it wrong.

So if these people think they're getting a bargain, in the end they're not. *However*...and I'm not saying I'd ever buy a doll from them...I can see how if someone is wanting to get a bjd for clothing measurements, if they're a sewer and new to bjd's, the price would be rather tantalizing...and all our warnings would mean naught. It would be very tempting. Actually it would be fun to get one just to see how many outrageous mods I could make on it-that I would NEVER do to my more treasured (and more $$$) CP dolls.

And this will sound bad, but in 4 years, nobody will care. Some people still have a Foreverdoll, and hey, it is their perogative-they shouldn't be shunned/demonized if they made the choice to go cheap...I figure the dolls this way: if they lasted this long, they should be considered a 'rescue', lol.
